How To Unlock UA-cam Live Streaming
To unlock live streaming, you just need to have zero live strikes in 90 days, and to verify your channel, what does that mean well, you’ll be asked for a phone number, and you’ll be sent a text message with a code, and once you verify with that, you can not just go live, but also add custom thumbnails, upload videos longer than 15 minutes, and manage copyright claims.

How To Login To UA-cam With OBS or Streamlabs
Open OBS, go to settings, click Stream, click Service, and select UA-cam in the drop-down, and click Connect Account. From here you’ll log in to the UA-cam account, and channel that you’re going to be streaming from.
Once it’s connected, you are all set to go live, so let’s schedule a stream!
How To Schedule A UA-cam Stream
You see, scheduling is important because you’ll want your subscribers to actually know you’re going live, and in the lead-up to the stream, they can click notify me on it, if you don’t do this, you’ll be going live to zero viewers, which we all have to do at some point but I still think scheduling helps avoid that.
So head to UA-cam Studio, look in the top right, click Create, and you should see Go Live if you verified properly, click this and it opens the Live Control Room.
Click the Manage tab, and click schedule stream, for me I can reuse old settings from previous streams which is great, but for you, you’ll need to create a new stream and set these up yourself.
Here you’ll set a title, and a thumbnail, which is a really important step for you, because this will make or break whether a viewer will click on your stream, for more on how to make those clickable stick around, you’ll pick your game category, playlists if you’re a partner set up monetization,
Then you can customize the stream further, for example, change who can chat in your stream, whether you want emoji reactions, your delay, set a trailer so anyone who drops by before the stream starts gets a preview for the stream that you’ve edited and uploaded here, and a redirect which essentially lets you go live, and when you end stream all your viewers are re-directed to another live stream or video premiere you’ve set.
and also set your visibility if you want.
If you want to go live to test your settings or stream, then set the visibility to unlisted or private, if you’re scheduling a public stream, select public, and select the time the stream is scheduled for. Once you’re happy, click done.
How To Start A Stream on UA-cam Live
When it’s time to start your stream, you’ll open OBS and your Live Control Panel, inside OBS click manage broadcast, select existing broadcast, and select the one we just set up.
Now OBS has connected directly to the stream you schedule and is ready to go live for you.
Once you’re ready, click “start streaming” and go inside your Live Control Room, click Go live.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and VidIQ in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Gaming Careers and Nutty.

sometimes a fresh start with no viewers can be a blessing... Twitch had me feeling a bit stuck in what I "had" to do. On youtube, I went in a totally new direction - it was so easy to experiment with no pressure.
I do nature content, and after a few weeks, I was already at 1k and fully monetized.
I will say, the copyright system is horrible. I get claims on my videos a lot for nature sounds like birds singing. Can people atually hold copyrights on chirps and ribbits?
Of course you can copyright any recording, in fact, technically speaking, the minute you create something it automatically is copyrighted, although it's not necessarily in UA-cam's copyright system.

I started streaming regularly on you tube 4 months ago. I'm seeing good numbers in terms of of click through rate and about 5-10 viewers per stream at the moment. There are certain games that do better than others which is to be expected. Furthermore, certain topics within games will generate more views.
I have found collaborating with another channel with similar interests has helped give each other a boost.
I would say I've gained some experience which has helped improve the quality of commentary and interaction with viewers. It's still a long road ahead, but one I'm willing to take.
Do you have to set up the stream through UA-cam or can you just do it through OBS Studio?

I wanted to look that up for a while now, Twitch is fun, but UA-cam the better platform by a long shot!
I'll admit I learned more than I expected to. I'm going to watch the second half as well but best believe I'll be watching this video again. A lot of useful information is contained inside the video segments.

I'm considering doing UA-cam only streams. Twitch has been good to me so far, but growth has really stagnated. That could be because I need to "up my game," but Twitch's discoverability is rough, especially when streaming a game that is even slightly popular. When I do stream on UA-cam, I do see, in the stats, that more people at least look at my stream (comparing to Twitch's "unique viewers" post-stream statistics). You were very brave leaving Twitch and basically starting over on UA-cam -- it is really awesome to see how well it worked out for you.

I’ve been going live on UA-cam for the best part of a year but there’s 2 issues I have…
1) chat/activity feed/ chat bot are really inconsistent and sometimes work sometimes they don’t
2) more of a question really, do you know if UA-cam have a dedicated team to work on the UI and QOL within UA-cam live to keep it current and easy to use, benefits for streamers/viewers etc…
This is probably videos in and of themselves but if you could take the time to reply to this that’d amazing! Cheers
Hey! I don't work with UA-cam so I can't say how there team is structured, but from the updates over the last year it does seem like they care and are trying.
Ludwig, who is working with them, has however said they're working on those things, but with a company of UA-cams size nothing happens quickly, same as Twitch.
I know API issues with Bots or activity feeds have been an issue, personally, they weren't detrimental to my content, and I didn't see them being overly disruptive to myself or other creators I work with but I know there are days its rough. I've been told often that isn't actually UA-cam, but a combination of issues between tools still adopting or getting used to supporting UA-cam, but who knows. Hopefully that helps :)

I've been streaming on twitch for years, too. Growth is slow, but at least it's genuine.
UA-cam on the other hand is slower growing for me than on twitch, but I do know it will be way more impactful in the long run.

I attempted a stream on youtube a couple of my viewers from twitch stopped in briefly but both of them had complaints about the youtube UI while in full screen mode mostly the lack of a chat box. I wasn't sure what they were talking about because i never view twitch in full screen i had suggested poping the chat out but I was told it wasn't a very good fix for there issue do you have any suggestions. If I make this switch I don't want to loss the few faithful viewers i have had on twitch.

Game music is fine usually, unless its something like GTA where they're playing actual real music.

how do you make good thumbnails though? I cant get photoshop or illustrator and I need some type of free software. Most of my thumbnails are just screenshots from the vid and they are cool but not reliable. Any suggestions?

My question is in order for you to be streaming on UA-cam and still be able to run OBS do you need to have two monitors?
You’ve also mentioned using epidemic sound. If I’m streaming on just one monitor and in the middle of the stream I want to click to a different tab with epidemic sound, don’t my viewers see me doing all that and therefore kind of mess up the streaming experience for them?

That is how to organize + combine live content with video content in order to make it gullible for the users.
I mean, a live stream usually lasts at least 2 hours which is far longer than the usual youtube vid and if the user consumes it later loses one of the main incentives of staying as you are live which is interactivity… so should one approach this?
My main idea was to download the video, cut it in different episodes based on the different topics of the stream. So if I played 3 scenarios of a videogame I would just generate 3 videos, one for each scenario. But still, the video is weird because I am talking to people and sometimes they ask or comment things not related in any way with the topic I’m covering and I cannot avoid finding it hard to consume afterwards.

I use restream, and have been wanting to use the "schedule" function on the YT side for some time now. Typically I setup everything in Restream and then hit start stream in OBS and then we're live on the 4 platforms I use (YT/Kick/Twitch/DLive).
From there I have a 10 min start countdown so I can pop into the YT stream right away and add my pre-made thumbnail and tags (description and other stuff are pre-done in restream). So I'm wondering if I can't use the schedule function on YT because I use restream. I do see that restream does have a schedule option....maybe I'll ask them about how that works on their side as well.
Just to let you know, you're breaking terms of service on Twitch by multi-streaming like that. It isn't likely you'll get caught, but if even one person reports you, you could be in trouble.
I wouldn't be saying publicly you are multistreaming to be safe, I've seen people get hit before.
@@StreamScheme Appreciate that! And I know you're correct. Once I'm able to apply for affiliate thats when I'll decide if I want to cut off the others. YT is my biggest and most consistent audience right now. I don't even have 1 average viewer even though I've hit all of the other marks. I'm super under the radar hehe. But yes, should I apply for affiliate, I wouldn't do it. Appreciate the work you do mate!
@@Gam3rC4m Just to clarify, you are aware that Affiliate doesn't matter in this case, right? The Terms of service were changed to blanket ban all multistreaming unless it was to Tiktok or instagram.

Likely you’re just not creating discoverable interesting clickable content, my first stream on the testing side channel got 45 avg viewers and 2300 views after I finished just on the VoD.

Yes UA-cam does that to stop spam bots, so you just wait and it opens.

I tried streaming on UA-cam for over a year and had little to no discovery. So I moved over to Twitch!
Very surprising! Just from creating a few videos, and shorts I was able to instantly stream to 40 - 100 viewers, all brand new as well just from the work I'd done on that account, no shout-outs, etc. UA-cam knew my audience and content from those videos, those subs, and recommended the streams to them automatically rather than me trying to convince them to go to a new platform.
I took a look at your Twitch stats, and It seems like you're not getting any live followers on Twitch, every stream says a net of 0 followers gained, with no increase in average viewership. This would indicate you have no discovery on Twitch either since January.
Are you finding that Twitch has been better? Are viewers more likely to click a link in UA-cam and go over to Twitch? Since January of this year when you moved it appears your average is only declining, so I am curious if you feel the move was worth it.
Sadly, I can't look at your UA-cam stream stats as they aren't still on your channel, otherwise I'd check those, the titles, thumbnail, etc and hopefully be able to help.
