Catskills style dries are like othello, a minute to learn and a lifetime to master. Really great job on the wings. I find it easier to maintain body taper by clipping that tail as close to the end of the wing hump as possible. On the dubbed flies you can get away with the gap a little bit when you go to the quill bodies it’s super important. Glad you’re tying these! Keep it up!

Tta;s interesting about the bare section behind the eye. Also. I've always found that the turned down eye of a hook looks like a head to me. I alway seem to be drawn to it n ai finished fly. :-) Nice tying. :-)

    Nice!
Since you're tying them for framing as in really nice, why not use a more 'Catskill style hackle' like Collins rather than Whiting which has in my opinion too dense barb count and sometimes have a curve in the barbules?

No offense, but check out the "Down by the River" UTube channel. He ties awesome Catskill style dries.

I'm loving this series of Catskills Dries that relate the the Tying Catskills book. What is a fair price for a 100 ct box of Allcock perfect hooks?

I’d say $20-25 USD. Tough to get them cheaper, but they can go higher. I paid like $27 but I didn’t search and wait. I just bought them so I could do this series. Thanks!
