@@DownstreamDownrange it gets slow then speeds up again but it sounds like u came from a different direction, if u start at the bridge from the north fork of the river right where it starts I had the most luck, only big brookies there
@@owentedesco3908 o hahah well we are for sure talking differently then. There are no bridges. Maybe this looks similar to what you have fished. This is a different creek
These vids take me back east. One time I was swimming at one of these spots and I had goggles and poked my head behind a little waterfall and there was a little brooky hiding back there. That was before I fished though, didn’t really realize how nice of a brook trout stream it was.
I have a spot in Hamilton County that I use to go about once a year ,it's a long walk and I would always come out with 10 brookies 10" and bigger, you could catch trout allday there when the mayflies hatch the trout splash you they are so close but with the newer state limit of 5 and I only trout fish a few times a year it's not worth going back in there for me.Its Last time I went there I caught 4 and threw back over 20 over 10" then I hooked one bad and walked out with my 5.
Grew up catching brookies in the adks. Raised in saranac lake. Would go out to Vermontville and hike those back streams and then fish the lakes afterwards. Wish I fly fished back then. Transferred down south to wnc to fish these streams now.
Dan, def would love to see you catch that foot long crevice monster! Also question; how the hell do you do that much hiking in flip flops!? I’d be limping ha
Dan, loved the underwater release parts. The close up camera shots make those 6 inch fish look like 14 inchers. I learned how to fly fish for trout when I was about 11 years old. We used to call those brookies "speckled trout' because of the bright dot coloring. I don't hear anyone use speckled trout any more. Dogs, teenagers in rubber tubes, swimmers in the river, are all pain in the neck for trout fishermen. No offense Dan, but I am not that anxious for you to return to this river. I prefer watching you fish in medium sized rivers where you have to use your skill to trick the trout. This kind of fishing is fun, but it is a little too easy.
Sorry to hear of your despair way up in the mtns… I know how those areas are.. rugged and tough to get through.. Liking your perseverance and smarts… beautiful Adk. Jewels! Wish you kept that bigger one on.. the colors are completely amazing.. God colored these chars up with a delicate and talented paint brush. Thanks again for such a beautiful video! Keep it going!
Hopefully y’all enjoy this one! Delaware river vid coming SOOOON
Fortunately it’s a free country and people will throw rocks. You found a way to get past it and make a great show! Good work !
Hahahaha yah 😅
That’s funny, I fished there like two weeks ago and I caught a 10 inch brookie right below those falls, I released him so he’s there if u want him!
That’s cool man!!!! I bet there’s AMAZING fishing wayyyyyy upstream. Like way way way up there.

Those pools looked like trout heaven. Sometimes that's just the way it is. Too bad you were following Rocky and Bullwinkle.
That one deep hole was sick dude! Gotta snorkel that baby! Looks like awesome water!
Up under the rocks it was deeper !!!! 15-17 feet easily. I gotta go back !!!!
@@DownstreamDownrange It almost looked like you could jump in from the rocks above! Gotta be something big in there... right?
@@WhiteDogTrailCompany hooked a 11-12 incher up under the rocks but there has gotta be one in the teens in there. Extremely deep
Those mountain streams are so clear. I love your underwater releases. Its crazy that you can walk that far and still encounter people out there.
It was a hugeeee surprise!
@@DownstreamDownrange It is a fairly well known swimming hole for locals.

It sucks that another guy had the same brilliant idea as you did to head up to the mountains midweek to enjoy the great outdoors. America sucks. LOL
Well he ruined it for everyone else so yah it does suck and didn’t have the same idea. I don’t like poachers
Where is this! I went there as a kid I’ve been looking for this forever!
Adirondacks!!! Far north
Give it another shot in a week or two. Next time maybe you will not have that doofus and his dog doing that junk.
I certainly will!!! And the trout should be more colorful! I found some big ones I didn’t catch so I’ll be back for them!
