Oh my god THANK YOU finally I'm also so fuckin tired of seeing these nostalgia-bait, feeling-bad-bait, generally-profiting-off-of-sad-young-people type videos, which ENCOURAGE thinking that there is no fun to be had in gaming anymore. How the hell are these random UA-camrs supposed to know why I'M not enjoying games anymore anyway?? Goddamn thanks for expressing a huge UA-cam pet peeve of mine.

I’ve head this same sentiment expressed before years ago. I think it’s a video called “why you’re killing gaming”, I think?🤔 I can’t remember exactly, it’s been years. But yeah, I feel like these videos just encourage, well, I wouldn’t say specifically young people but, idk everyone under the age of 50 or 40 (so like an age range of 20-40) or something to just be continually sad. It’s like, well why don’t you come up with a solution? (I mean of course there’s the social economic factors due to working that contribute to it but that’s another topic) Maybe you have some suggestions for games to make people feel better and happier? But no, it’s just depression nostalgia with no suggestions to make people feel more sad. Unironiaclly? I’d actually respect these videos more if they used the titles as clickbait to lure people into a video that actually just recommends them new genres and other cool video games that they’ve never tried before. Hell, maybe even in these videos just recommend your own favorite games and geek out about why you like them so much, so then you can recommend games that really mean something to you that someone who’s watching your video may have never played or even seen or heard of before, Y’know? That’d be really cool. Good video btw!
Exactly! I think when someone thinks that "Gaming isnt fun anymore" theyre just burnt out from their current game or genre theyre playing and should hop into something new and fresh. Thanks for Watching!

That's a valid reason why someone might not have fun with games anymore and I can't really argue against that, but a lot of those "why X isn't fun anymore" videos are also petty, unless a game is your absolute favorite, eventually it'll just be in the back of your mind and nothing else
Games are a business first and foremost, and sooner or later we'll all get fed up with it at some point, sucks but what can ya do
Videos supposed to be petty and corny just like the nostalgia bait doomer original videos that profit from the burnout of young people.
And yes triple A gaming is beyond fucked but there is an endless supply of 2A and indie games out there to fix that issue.
No ones gotta rely on the cod slop to have fun in gaming. And watching all the big studios burn down is in my opinion pretty fun.
I do get why some people dont like gaming anymore, its a hobby from which you can get burnout from, and that is something completely normal and will probably happen to everyone. But the „games arent fun anymore“ croud just pushes a doomer narrative that games arent fun anymore which is just untrue.

@@AkechiToo I really don't know where games are headed tbh, because even indie titles are susceptible to corporatization, though I really don't understand the stigma a lot of people seem to have toward indie titles either
maybe we've reached a point of stagnation? how many FPSes can you play before you can recall the map layout better than your own house, or how many polygons and particles can your pc handle before it combusts
platformers and roguelikes for example, aren't as popular as FPSes, and that's because we're in a generally more competitive time now than before, at least that's what I think, and esports are very popular and make a lot of money, and so game developers try to be the next CS, which kind of makes creavity limited since altering a stable genre can lead to a variety of problems for a game in the long run, and of course harassment and death threats
I don't know, I mostly stick to older titles myself
