To be honest Bobby was the first Darts showman so many know who he is and his antics made the darts fun and that is what Peter write does. Now 80 looks amazing.
Love Bobby's attitude towards life, you never see him looking grumpy or upset, his interviews are such a joy to watch and he's clearly still the bright bouncy character he always was. I think he's got a point about long format darts, I think there's a place in darts for a short format major like a Best of 3 tournament - if snooker can have a Shoot Out then why not darts!
I love the way he interprets it. That he may be underappriciated, but he isn't underrated. And he wasn't underappricated financially, quite the opposite, he made that decision to go where the money was and he is fine with it. Absolutely fair in my opinion, and he is such a huge character that he doesn't need to have the most amounts of XY titles to his name to stay memorable. We definitely won't forget him, he is a bonified legend of darts.
Bobby George is undoubtedly and undisputedly an under appreciated legend of the game. The things he won and the finals he made attest to that. He deserves more credit and respect for the role he played in the development of our great game. X
Watched Bobby in that great final against Eric in 1980. That was the golden age of Darts for sure. I desperately wanted Bobby to win but he miscounted and messed up the finish and Eric took advantage.
Agree Bobby is a legend, but standard these days (he was part of setting) deserves the longer games imo. As he says "anyone can win best of 3" and if some dude's hittin' ton plus, the game's only gonna last 2 minutes . I still srtuggle to accept best of 11's (first to 6) but it's because the standard's so high and the games are so short. I was weened on early BDOWC 5 setters. I think they (PDC) have got some things just about right The News of the World was a unique sprint and fair play to all participants.
after news of the world he won butlins masters twice , then never won a tournament in england after 1982 , hardly a legend but still a nice fella by all accounts
He averaged over 100 in the final of that year's NOTW which was the first 100+ average seen on TV (two 15 darters). He didn't do it every round but he did win every round 2-0.
Met bobby played him ..a real gentleman 👏 🙌
Legend of dart for sure
Bobby is the elder statesman of darts. He should be respected and revered. A real gentleman and a great personality. Good to see you Bobby.

1.25, thought he was going to say 'jumpers for goalposts' then. Wish he had, would have been perfect😂

Nice fella Bobby is ….
Brilliant 😊great character 😂
What’s a great bloke? 🤛
I've been saying the same thing about using the Champions Choice board for ages now.
Even as a one off tournament to start with.
I believe that modus will be better the first to give that a go, would be so fun to see

what did he win .?
Nothing! He tries to put Phil Taylor achievements down. Bobby's biggest achievement was what Phil would have won on a casual weekend.
Only took up the game at 30, but his darting legacy is assured.
He made darts.
Looking good bob

The Tagline is correct but the Main description needs fixing . Poor Booby George 😂😂😂

Looks like Bobby has been to Turkey looking at his gnashers.
What fn stud

Bobby won the news of the world again in 1986 . Do some research
@@harrymonk6 ok
Is this true? He averages over 100 every time tournament in 1979? Can someone fact check this? Seems outrageous.
Not a chance.
@@gurney2931 agreed
He meant every round of that year of the News of the World. Do winning all games 2-0 is do able
Totally true

The only tournament he won
You obviously know nothing 🙄
A legend??? Please
Get off the xanax mate
Sorry but he was gash
A great legend of the game but unfortunately a mediocre player at best 😊
You dont win the NOTW twice by being mediocre.
Silly comment
