@Citizen 1491 I don't agree, english, just like any other language, had to adapt to the changes in the world (new inventions, especially technology-wise*), and even though gender was always a spectrum, people only start to know/care about it enough now, to come up with their own terms for self expression. *for example stream had a different meaning before online streaming, but nobody complains about that, bc they don't really have a problem with changing the language, they just like to hate people

My mom thinks that we use "too many labels" and doesn't understand me expressing my perception of body and gender identity. I enjoy the fact I could have a biological child, not the baggage that comes with it. I am no woman, I am me, I am my name. My body is female, my mind is neutral, I wouldn't mind being a male. She raised me to be as free as a possible as a child and then feels weird having a non binary child/son/daughter? Also, I was "misgendered" like she used to be, and got euphoria from it. I yearn for being called a boy, just as being called a girl. I present as both. This woman is a bit trans phobic.
Literally almost exact same situation with me. Though after she beat me and kicked me out of the house for not doing enough chores, I think she has more problems than just with understanding me being trans... She called me a "traitor of the underdog gender", and shit like that. And it wasn't possible to explain it to her, the whole concept was just so foreign to her. Glad I'm living with my dad now.
This is so funny to me, like wtf is she on about “I have to change my whole language” she’s acting like we want her to say “cis woman” whenever she describes herself. You can still call yourself a woman “cis” is just the technical term. I find it insane that some people go out of their way to hate people when it’s so easy to be accepting
Yeah, it's the same with TERF's outrage about "people who menstruate". They seem to think, that we don't want to call women women anymore or are reducing them to their genitals, when in reality that terminology is the used the same way as "people with crooked toes", "people who own a prius", "people with breast cancer" or "people who collect star wars action figures". Somehow it's never threatening or dehumanizing with those examples but when you call them cis you are attacking their dignity or something..
Also the "do you have a period? No? Ur not a woman" Like what about cis women with medical problems? Are they suddenly men now? Are they trans men to you? Like why use that argument when it doesn't even make sense 😭
the escapist they’re literally just trying to make excuses to hate people who are different. Every argument they have against trans people falls apart as soon as you start to unpack it. Maybe it’s because they’re hmm... wrong!?

TERFs shouldn't even have "feminist" in their acronym, feminism should include ALL women. Intersectional feminism is the only feminism that does what feminism needs to do. I'm a cis woman. I'm a blonde woman. I'm a white woman. I'm a bi woman. These are all descriptors of me. "Cis" is just a word you can use to classify that you identify with the sex you were assigned at birth. It isn't an insult. It isn't an attack. It's an adjective.
It’s also interesting because feminist means women and men have equal rights. Men have equal rights to women. Trans or cis you have to support to be a feminist. Feminism is not women supremacy- women are not objectively better then men and men are not better then women trans or not. If your feminist you support every man and woman, trans and cis.

I understand what u guys are saying but it actually goes the opposite way too. For example as a kid/teenager I saw what woman a should act like, look like and I hated and rejected it so strongly that I wanted to be more masculine n stuff. So I think it can have the opposite effect in which you try to be more like a man because of your insecurity. It's a thing but obviously being trans is very different then just being insecure.
The worst part is actually that body issues and being trans can get mixed up, I thought the reason I was so uncomfortable looking in a mirror was because of a lack of self confidence/ self love, nope, I’m trans. Took me years to figure that out, during which I tried my very hardest to fit into the gendered boxes and learn to love myself as I am and all that.
I've seen terfs brag about bullying gay trans men. So, they pretty much drop all pretense of "caring" about "women" as soon as they can't use the "confused lesbian" card.
Also why should I care what she finds offensive if she doesn't care what other people find offensive? I am cis woman, for those who don´t understand transitioning medically, I always make this argument. Would you go through serious surgeries that can end up in death and treatments that can affect your mental health as well as having many side effects just because you watch a dude online that look cool? Nobody would put their lives at risk if they would not feel the need to do so to be happy. No matter how often we see succesfull stories online, every trans person who transitions medically will sit in a room with a doctor and a document reading all the things that can go wrong. And that, my loves, is difficult as fuck.
Daysleeper I’m an Alpha Natural Born Female not a cis!! I had a large number of men sit in a room with me in a transformation studio & let it all hang out, well not literally. In this environment I heard their backstories, their lives, the where’s & why’s. Out of say 1,000 only 2 were maybe candidates for transition, 1 said he wouldn’t have gender reassignment survey because in his profession women get treated like s*it of the very few who pushed past the glass ceiling anyhow.Number 2 a shy, soft spoken, diminutive young man.His backstory was a very distressing one; sexually abused as a child by a close family member, it wasn’t just the appalling injury he inflicted on him bodily it was also the horrendous things he said to him.The only sense of self he had was the false one this pedophile had inflicted on him.Working through the maze of his mind he came to the realisation he wasn’t gay just because of what he experienced at the hands of his abuser & he didn’t look like a woman just because of his frame & the blame his abuser put on him.Now my concern is for the most vulnerable like victims of sexual abuse & especially Autistic young people.I had a hard enough time with going through puberty as an Alpha NBF, my own experiences at the hands of pedophiles added to that Autistic family members my insight tells me it is right to tread very carefully & explore every avenue in depth to know what the motivation is behind wanting such drastic changes to your body.

Also let's also state that trans women who medically transition can have less muscle mass than a cis man due to hormones. I've lost quite a bit of strength since I've started and I don't regret a thing
Not only can they have less muscle mass, most professional sport leagues and competition already have rules excluding trans that aren't on HRT or haven't been on HRT long enough to see those changes. Some even require medical proof of hormones levels and body mass distribution being the same than cis average. Add to that intersex people, there have been situations before where intersex Olympic athletes are affected by such rules. How is it that there are people who define gender as biological sex, being a binary and claim that us medically transitioning is mutilation but find unfair competing against someone that was assigned the same sex at birth than them and expect them to go through similar medical procedures than we use to make it fair? So medical transition it's fine if it is to FORCE an intersex into preconceived boxes but it's bad if it's a treatment that we need, that's possibly life-saving and that we are entirely willing to undergo. Some people just want to live in a bubble where everyone is exactly like them, where no one challenges their dogmas and if we do, we must adapt to their expectations inorder not to threat their preconceived notions.

However here is a crazy idea, how about if people wouldn't go out of their way just to discriminate against, disrespect, hurt, attack, bother or insult those that aren't harming them in any way? What if no one gave sht about what other people do with their own life as long as they are not harming anyone else? Would that really be a bad thing? She’s simultaneously offending “natural born women” whilst preaching about how transwomen are men by saying that women are “uterus havers.” It completely disregards females who may have been born without one or had hysterectomies.
Also the same argument against trans-women competing with cis-women it's used against intersex people inorder to FORCE them to undergo medical treatment (like HRT and/or gender affirming surgeries) in order to compete. Anyone that holds this argument considers the same procedures To be a good thing and even something needed and required for people naturally born with physical characteristics outside their preconceived boxes (regardless if they wish to have it or not) but wrong, evil, mutilation, unnatural and "bloody offensive" if we do it. We need to start seeing the bigger picture and start moving towards equality, we can't do that by denying the existence of some people nor by having double and triple standards)

Do we really need to go back to primary school to relearn "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all"? Some people just need to sit themselves down and truly look at the things they are saying.
I feel like people who tell trans people to basically just be cis are like people who tell someone with severe depression to "just be happy". Jee, thanks hadn't thought of that!

Okay Posie, I'm 30, and I massively regret the choices I've made about my gender. I should have listened to myself when I was 7 and thought about cutting off my willie with plastic scissors. Instead I'm just a 30 year old dork with a wimpy haircut and painted nails, who envy cries over a 10 year old photo of myself attending a birthday party with a cross dressing theme. I have now been referred to the gender clinic, and am just waiting to get an appointment. I look forward to becoming the very thing you seem to hate the most. A non-cis woman 🏳️⚧

Maybe its just me, but whenever I watch Noah's videos he always seems to scream "gay guy" to me.

Intersectional feminism needs to be essential. Too many feminists are racists, transphobes and ignorant of their white privilege.
It’s also interesting because feminist means women and men have equal rights. Men have equal rights to women. Trans or cis you have to support to be a feminist.

Cause I’m not a dick. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Exactly. I can't stand Caitlyn, but I'd never misgender her.

Just like how I don't like people who disown their LGBT kids or would kill every last member of it if they had their way, but I won't misgender them either.

Is this the equivalent of bleaching your eyes?
She was intentionally misrepresenting it. Nobody wants to use "uterus havers" as a general term for afabs. They're just mad because medical people are saying things like "It's critical that people with uteruses get check by a gynecologist, regardless of age" and such, instead of "women", because SMART people understand that afab enbies and trans men exist in addition to cis women, and also that it doesn't apply to cis women without uteruses..... Long story short, it's used in contexts where uteruses are the key topic and they don't want to make it about gender when it's not.

The idea that anyone can change their name and assigning a particular gender to a name is arbitrary is a pretty common view for TERFs. They don't take an issue with the name changing.
The more religious motivated transphobes will usually try to deadname people, but the TERFs generally won't. This can actually sometimes be a way to tell which point of view they're coming from when you see a transphobic comment or tweet
Matthew Lynch thanks for informing me
@@Shannon_Lynch I've seen lots of TERFs call Caitlin jenner by her birth name. Lots of TERFs call Charlotte Clymer by her birth name. It's lack of access to the birth name, I think, not a lack of issue.

@@nahicorua technically Noah with an h is usually a boy’s name and Noa without an h is usually a girl’s name. These name both come from Hebrew (נוח, נועה) where they are pronounced differently but because English doesn’t really have a “ch as in loch” sound people pronounce them the same.
It always amazes me how the issue of trans people in sports is thought of as a valid part of the discussion of trans validity. Sports is made up. Humans made it up. If anything sports is a prime example of how arbitrary the divisions are.
Sports has age divisions, weight classes, and loads of rules to even the playing field. The rules are tweaked from time to time to make it more fun to watch or to appease advertisers. It's made up.
exactly, if people really wanted to make it fair, they should put classes for those particular "advantages", like they do with weight for wrestling for example

“It’s really offensive you think you can just stick on some clothes and demand I change the way I think.”
I’m FTM. Early stages transition, no one look at me. I spent my WHOLE life up until NOW (19 years) dressing up and playing doll with my own body and identity. I did the photoshoots, I put on prom dresses, I wore bikinis and skirts and leotards and booty shorts. I let everyone call me “she” and “queen” and “bitch” and “girl” and “woman” and “lady” and I smiled politely.
I was miserable. I hated myself. I hated my life. I hated the way people saw me. I got secretly angrier and angrier and sadder and sadder. I tried to kill myself. I cut myself.
It wasn’t about the fact that I don’t want to be a woman. I’d love it if I could be a woman. I think women are beautiful and amazing and smart and powerful! I just *am not one*. It just *makes me feel bad* to have this body and live this way because it’s not how I FEEL. That’s all that matters. It’s NOT ABOUT YOU. It’s barely even about “gender” as a social construct. It’s about me. I just want to see me as I am. I just want people to see me as I am. I’m so tired. I finally feel hope for the first time in being FTM. I *tried* to stick on some clothes and demand something of myself and everyone else. It didn’t WORK. It was inauthentic. This is the Trans story, please, someone listen.
this is so relatable
This has angered me to a level that I didn’t realise I could be angered to
Also let's also state that trans women who medically transition can have less muscle mass than a cis man due to hormones.
@@MI-dl3zj living in ignorance is a pain
Still men though.
@@standup2982 here me out. I used to be able to pick up over 140 lbs with no problem. Thats about my body weight. Now, weeks in hormones and not working out, 80 lbs is a MAJOR struggle. I cant even do it. I never worked out before I could pickup what I used to. Naturally I'm getting weaker, so why should I still compete with men if I can't do what I used to?
@@standup2982 you clearly don't understand the meaning of gender, no one is claiming they can change their biological sex, anymore than anyone can choose their gender. Trans-women are women because women is referring to gender, the trans in trans-women is accepting the biological sex not matching what was expected for that gender.
No need to understand, no need to change yourself, just ignore what others do that doesn't affect you. Just live and let live.
If only they TRIED to talk to trans people like actual human beings
What if the transness is contagious?
But seriously, anyone avoiding to have that conversation is terrified to be proven wrong because that would let them with only two options, to admit their bigotry and hatred or correct their point of view. Those are the only two possible outcomes so the only option for anyone that wants to avoid them both is to avoid all honest conversations on the topic and double down on their ignorant position.

She’s simultaneously offending “natural born women” whilst preaching about how transwomen are men by saying that women are “uterus havers.” It completely disregards females who may have been born without one or had hysterectomies.

Phoebe NATURAL BORN WOMEN LMAOO
Also the same argument against trans-women competing with cis-women it's used against intersex people inorder to FORCE them to undergo medical treatment (like HRT and/or gender affirming surgeries) in order to compete. Anyone that holds this argument considers the same procedures To be a good thing and even something needed and required for people naturally born with physical characteristics outside their preconceived boxes (regardless if they wish to have it or not) but wrong, evil, mutilation, unnatural and "bloody offensive" if we do it.
( I know she didn't mentioned intersex athletes in the video but there is no way to withhold the "trans-athletes" argument against us without having a double standard for intersex athletes. We need to start seeing the bigger picture and start moving towards equality, we can't do that by denying the existence of some people nor by having double and triple standards)

So do you always give in to other people's wishes, whims, and delusions? Is your younger sibling going around saying that they are a man with period? Or a non-binary person with a period, even though your younger sibling is clearly a woman?
I just can't understand what people don't get:
a woman is a woman, a man is a man, trans women ARE women and trans men ARE men why is that so hard to understand
it is easy to respect peoples wishes by calling someone by their correct pronouns and their correct name
it is easy to respect if someone wants to transition or not
