There does seem to be a type that's emerging which experiences a "gnostic religious calling" to transition. This is typically someone who is an addict and who's life is a complete mess who describes having a spiritual experience of an inner voice telling them to transition. I've had people tell me of these weird spiritual experiences and transition seems to act like a rehab for them, it gives them a newfound purpose, a goal in life, a community, a structured schedule and a reason to be overseen by doctors. For these types transition is like a spiritual pilgrimage and it might be because our society lacks other religious outlets or because paganism is gaining in popularity with the younger generation.
Idk if I would see it as a spiritual thing. Though I am Christian and would describe myself as someone with gender dysphoria and feel a need to transition
@@defennia You should stop watching cartoons for one. You experience gender dysphoria because you are not very masculine. You have not become an adult male in part because we live in a society which no longer has coming of age rituals for men designed to help them feel secure in their masculinity. If you wish to alleviate your gender dysphoria, you need to truly become a man.
@@user-rx2if3oi8n .. fantasies are just fantasies ..you cannot engineer them, they are just what turns you on and you have no control over what that happens to be. Fantasies occur in the mind first before anything else and some get to or at least try to live out their fantasies in reality.
Great interview, thoughtful questions especially as you can bring in your own experiences. Times are very different now from the 1980s. Have you interviewed Dr Az Hakeem? That would also be interesting .
Hi Ray I work with autistic people and am autistic myself, and I feel like the autism piece is sorely missed as a major factor in this discussion by some of these professionals who may not be trained to work with autistic people or understand the way our brains work. I have a background in gender studies and have been following this issue for years now. Some day I hope that we can understand more about the relationship between these “auts”. Your videos are really important and I wanted to thank you for these discussions. Have a great day
Yes, I disagree with Dr. Blanchard when he says the AGPs he saw were not autistic because in other interviews he has said that his AGP patients were mostly the "computer nerd" type which is clearly the classical AGP autistic phenotype. AGPs have always been the computer nerd types and highly intelligent, often autistic. This is well established. Anne Onymous talks about this in her work.
@ That’s so frustrating 😅. And makes sense. If you look at studies that show the knowledge and competence of professionals in understanding, identifying, and being able to give therapy to autistic people, it shows a shocking lack of ability and awareness/insight into autism and its various presentations. It’s such an important discussion. I firmly believe that the dichotomous thinking inherent to autism is responsible for so much of what we see in this area, including the simplicity of “I identify as a woman, now I can go on female only apps” etc. What may appear to be narcissism (in some cases yes, but by no means all) is imho quite likely related to b&w thinking, and the activism resulting a strong sense of “justice and fairness” that is extremely present in our population. You throw on sexuality and it is a bit of a mess. It’s such a large topic. Thank you Ray. Sorry for rambling!
@@RayAlexWilliamsTo be fair his research was in the 80s when understanding about autism was basically limited to more extreme manifestations. Asperger’s wasn’t added to the DSM until 1994. It’s possible there were autistic men in his cohort, but they were not screened out because we didn’t have as much research around autism back then as we do now.
What a great quote [paraphrased] It's your job as a clinician to help your patient experience life with a minimum of emotional pain, not to fix the ills of society ... Basically, this is why people are able to be treated and affirmed in their chosen gender role, yet many in society castigate that method of treatment. Social dynamics and even feminist quibbles are not going to be approached by practitioners. They are using data and self-report and forming treatment decisions which will allow them to keep their license and not have a list of casualties to their name
Crazy how we went from this, to putting a diagnosis of gender dysphoria on a pedastal, as if it’s some holy grail signifier of being the opposite s ex. When all it ever really meant was “it’s clear you’re in distress and a professional thinks X treatment method might help alleviate these symptoms”.
I desire to be a member of the opposite sex -> I want to be perceived as the opposite sex -> transitioning -> diagnosis: transsexualism . If you think you actually are the opposite sex then you‘re not transsexual but suffer from a different mental issue that makes you delusional. That‘s what my psychologist said.
I suspect it's when they get too immersed in the fantasy and when their partner finds out about it, they have to somehow justify it to their partner and to others what they're doing so they say that they found their "true selves" and blablabla
What an awesome interview with this erudite ,learned man! I've only ever heard of him and his typology now I'm hearing him speak. I'm going to add Dr Blanchard to my farm of spirit animals. Great stuff Ray!
I think with Lawrences statenent. Its her wishing to have been a pre adolecence gender dysphoric. On puberty blocker. Like most agp radical actvists. Its also about mixing the etiology. She gone right down in respect.
Ray, great interviewing skills. I want to say that what ive noticed is that hsts always want to look like barbies and get big boobs and bbls. Well the majority, and the AGPs are the more femboy/androgenous fetishistic type,.and both types seem to have some sort of autism/adhd and also have narcassistic tendancies. As both types like to be admired and seen noticed and really focus on themselves on not care so much which family members or fiends they effect with transition. Also i noticed autistic girls and girls with adhd also are more prone to hypersexual behaviour, promiscuity and fetishism, and usually identify as emo goth into kink and bdsm and also are very self focused. Not all autistic / adhd folks obviously. But theres so many common similarities. I think the only reason men get a bad wrap is because men in societies eyes shouldn't do anything classed as outwardly sexual or dress a certain way, women seem to get away with being outwardly sexual and dressing a certain way just because their women. Best place to see both types of introverted extroverts would be at a cosplay convention. I think dr blanchard should conuct studiies there. I think the reasoning behind wanting to transition if you are AGP is so you can get away with dressing as you like if almost to fly under the radar, because a man wearing a skirt or knee high boots woukd be rudiculed. If they transition then they feel they can wear the clothes now. I akso think theres an obsessive nature to of looking beautiful, as autisic brains look at things logically, whats more of an attractive face, a balding man with beard face, or a sculpted smooth womans face with perfect makeup. And the fact you can switch up looks on the fly. Men are stuck with 1 aesthetic.
This is great, and I think my "questions for dr blanchard" submission was answered early on! (in a general sense) It might be a further line of thought: The "puberty blockers" oft prescribed for mtf individuals includes things like Cyproterone acetate, spironalactone etc. Aren't those two types of medicines used as "chemical castration" adjuncts for patients who have damaging paraphilias, to reduce the gratification? How does that mode of treatment jibe with paraphilic disorders such as AGP being treated with chemical castration but feeling more affirmed in their decision?
Interestingly men with a cast ration fet ish also get some ero tic satisfaction from having their cast ration fanta sies fulfilled. I don’t understand it, but from the one research paper I read on it, they were generally pleased with the results.
@@StormBringer5 Are you talking orchiectomy cast iron fantasies or just chemical cast iron fantasies? For real, once you get the gonads removed you are going to have hormonal/endocrinological requirements which would be perilous to ignore. I'm just not clear on the context or type of cast iron, there are many ways to achieve this depending on how you approach life

I know there’s a lot of grandmas on here telling you this is a great interview. No offense but please don’t listen to them. It’s actually a mess. Listen to the critics. I’m a professional interviewer and I watch a ton of long-form podcasts. You need to watch a lot of them and watch how people interview and draw the story out of experts. This guy was dying to tell his story, but the interviewer needs to frame it for him, have an outline and not ask a lot of unrelated niche questions. I don’t say this to be mean but please don’t listen to the compliments on this thread. Instead watch this interview and his reaction as it draws on. If I’m not mistaken, this is one of the top researchers on this topic in the world. Megyn Kelly has been citing his work. You’ve got a lead with his story and tell the world who he is through your intervening technique. It’s not about showing what you know. It’s about letting us hear what he knows. I’m so interested in him I need to go find a better interviewer.
I would assume that in my own case of autogynephilia that both nature and nurture have played a role. But since I have no other experience besides my own I wouldn’t be able to say what percentage would fall into which category. I was sexualized in my early childhood both through sexual abuse and exposure to hardcore and illegal pornography. I don’t have any memories of cross dressing or wanting female genitalia that weren’t sexual even those pre kindergarten.
What exactly is plain vanilla hetero sex? How many people are ONLY interested in that, really? It seems like the story of a person living in a boring unfulfilling sex life is very well known, and corn is very diverse and transgressive. So I'm confused by all this.
13:18 I would define it as: Any form of sexuality/sexual interest. I would further subcategorize them as: Typical (plain vanilla sexuality), healthy, unhealthy (does it get in the way of a healthy loving relationship), illegal (does it involve the unconsensual harm of someone else, or a power-dynamic such that consent is unable to be given). I don't think it is particularly helpful to categorize them based on social desirability/acceptance when what we're trying to do is help an individual. Socially, all we should care about is 'is it illegal?'. If not, social acceptance shouldn't matter. 17:00 - 18:30 That's exactly how I would define it: Typical, Atypical {Not Harmful, Harmful {Harmful to the Individual, Harmful to the Society} }. Harmful to the society = illegal. Harmful = therapy. Not Harmful = Nobody's business. I would then define the study of paraphilias as the study of human sexuality.

In relation to what Ray B said about homosexuality. Ive come on quite a jouney in undertanding and recognising my own early onset GD. If a homosexual comes out publicaly as gay. He or she isnt involving others in their orientation. Is questionable in the context of other orientations. Its well researched that a heyerosexual male for instance has upto 12 erections a day. The same would be for a homosexual male. Thats just going about their daily life. Women upto 8 times. I haven't used male spaces for decades. Looking at it in this context. I do remember a time in early adolscence when heavily bullied at school. My father sent me to boxing lessons. It was the first time I had seen an adult male coming out of the shower. I did think about that later whilst alone and, if I'm honest I had a sexual response. A male in a male space who was just on the cusp of the sexual response to my otherwise gender non conforming outward apearnce. It is that realisation and ditching of any ideology that I'm more sympathetc to a.g.ps than I used to be. We as a modern society try to hide our orientations reality. The other reality is that spaces have been divided by sex, for safety and dignity reasons. Without factoring in sexual orientation. It is only living my life as if the opposite sex for a very long time. Being accepted by those around me as the opposite sex. Without knowing im technicaly not. I see things from the womens perspective. Part of me sometines thinks. Should I of really been in those male intimate spaces. I rationalise it that 99% of homosexuals don't imply a risk to their own sex. Denying attraction though is often political rather than its consequences.
Good interview, Ray. Props to you & Dr Blanchard. But do you know why most of my comments in the chat were blocked? Great interview but as a homosexual transsexual I'm struggling to get any videos of information about my type of transgenderism he nearly touched on it but then said anyone that is aroused by dressing in female clothes is autogynophile. I've never been aroused dressing in female clothes I feel comfortable this way so what does that make me why are HSTS sidelined and all these discussions? I don't consider myself as part of the paraphilia realm this is never been a kink for me I just feel like myself and more comfortable not aroused in any way. As a male I struggled to fit the masculine template it felt like I was acting as a male but it wasn't who I was but as a female everything is completely natural to me the way I talk and move is coming from core being.
>>>why are HSTS sidelined and all these discussions? I will say that I focus on AGP because I am able to speak to it from my personal experience and also it constitutes the majority of the "transfemme" community and generates most if not all of the political and social controversy around transgenderism in the West. With that said, I would be happy to have you on my channel to speak from the HSTS perspective and provide insight into that experience, and how it manifests differently than the AGP etiology of male dysphoria. DM on Twitter or email me if you're interested.
I would suggest that it takes a long time for a young man to feel like a man, comfortable in his own skin. Questioning your masculinity, not feeling man enough, is a fairly universal thing for young men. Puberty is a coming of age process for both men and women in which the person in puberty is really neither man/women or child and as such is very disconcerting. For men, this process can go on through their mid 20s, women are typically through it a bit earlier. I believe that a lot of "gender dysphoria" is normal, uncomfortable feelings brought on by puberty. Instead of giving young men and women coming of age rituals or traditions, we have made them think that there is something wrong with them.
I'm sorry, but his dismissal, which included snide remarks and laughter, at the notion that pornography could be the root cause of something like autogynephilia in some men seemed so bizarre to me. Is he really taking into consideration how much porn these men (and boys) are consuming? It's almost as if he were defending porn, and downplaying the side effects of major consumption for years, and exposure often occurring at younger and younger ages. That makes me more than a tad suspicious. Just because some men developed autogynephilia without such access doesn't make it impossible for it to be fully responsible for some men. We also don't know what many agp's were exposed to before the internet. What may have been just a turn on, or just an afterthought, for some men, if fed with constant exposure to porn, most definitely could be what flips the switch to make it a full on paraphilia. Has he viewed the "brainwashing" videos? They make no apologies for their goal to "brainwash" these men. Its even available on youtube. He is either completely naive to the scope of the problem of porn sick brains, the level of degeneracy of the content, the literal goal of the producers, and the age of exposure, or he is intentionally ignoring it. I don't want to believe that there could be a more nefarious reason for him snubbing the idea, but I'm too jaded at this point to think it impossible. *Fantastic interview nevertheless. I love your channel.
Why is that nonsense? I think AGP comes in a spectrum and at the low end of the spectrum it manifests as pure transvestism. That's a perfectly coherent extension of the model.
@@RayAlexWilliams getting turned on by womens clothes and by the feel and touch of them and even a masterbating is not always agp. Agp is love of oneself as a woman not loving the feel of womens closthes
Because he's in it probably. It's not even a gender thing. Society is raised on p0rn and p3rverdion and even SA. I'd day most kids who got a phone at age 7-10 or younger are addicted, most are. Childhood p0rn addiction has been an issue for for ever but isn't talked abt. Everyone's screwed up cause most aren't protected and parents are too brainwashed or are in it too. It's self @bus3 and seeing ppl @bus3 others.
The people who are uncomfortable with their male sexuality, do they still have it? Like are they still also straightforwardly gynephilic but they feel weird about it?
Thanks for the interview and your work, Ray, although I don't agree with you (and I have a good personal reason for it), but it is a different topic. Also it is interesting that we have divergent understanding of agp. I started with clinical\"rational" approach, but I finished with poststructuralist\postmodernist approach. We are opposites in this regard, I see that you are disappointed by the vagueness of trans and queer studies and you try to find solid truth of sexuality and gender. I feel you. I respect your path and approach but I consciously abandoned it due to different reasons (ethical, clinical, tough personal history which was related to the conversion therapy and Russian\Soviet psychiatry, also I don't see how adherence to the "solid truth" helps people, we can't ignore in the field of clinical psychiatry and sexology ethical implications of different theories) Also it would be interesting to ask Dr.Blanchard the question about cognitive and neurobiological processes which can be a foundation of the agp. James Cantor claims that agp is related to the mirror neurons activity, that somehow brain subsystem related to sexuality is intertwined with the brain subsystem which is responsible for imitation. The similar process happens in the pedophilic brain, but different subsystem is involved (nurture subsystem can be mixed with sexual subsystem). Also it is important to study cognitive processes which are the part of heterosexuality. Ho do heterosexual men identify sexual target? How do they process heterosexual signals? What are the subprocesses of this process? After that it will be easy to understand what happens with agp. It is a big job for cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience, but I am pessimistic that we will find solid absolute truth of sexuality. Also it is paramount to study what is the best way of action in the clinical practice. What kind of people with agp do benefit from transition? By the way, I am asexual (agp etiology) trans woman, and I wasn't influenced by the permissive culture at all, I was born in Russia which is not trans friendly at ll, Nevertheless transition saved my life.
are there statistics about the "desistance" rate of teenage AGP's? (or non-HSTS) if someone has anatomic AGP and physical dysphoria at 15, can it still transform into another form of AGP that is reconcilable with having a masculine body? if yes, what's the realistic probability of that?
I disagree with Dr Blanchard's opinion that there is absolutely zero connection between porn and AGP and paraphilias in general. There is overwhelming evidence on porn addiction and porn use and how it causes a need for ever increasing novelty. While I don't think that every AGP is caused by porn, the rise of men and boys with autogynephilia and the rise in the ease of availability of niche porn are correlated.
Sexual orientation is in the thalamus which does not have sexual plasticity. We've been trying to modify men's sexual interests for over 100 years, and it is impossible. 'Corn' cannot creep into your thalamus and adjust what you are orientated to. Your orientation is laid down during hormonal growth while you are a fetus in your mothers womb. AGP is male heterosexuality with an inverted orientation (toward the self). Porn cannot cause it, period.
Ive been Autogynephillic from bedore i knew what it was, i was born before porn and what triggered my Autogynephillic tendancies were women jn general, pop stars, girls in magazines. I wabted to be them so bad as a child. Although i did keep the thoughts in my head, unitl i was 22 and saw porn. Then i started to imagine myself as the women in the scenes i watched, then started cross dressing after that. Although im not sure that if i didnt watch porn this wouldn't of happend anyway, although the porn definitely heightened the need for validation by men. And I started web camming. It was bad. I don't engage anymore and try and have this far kept autogynphillia at bay. Now I'm just interested in the topic. But back to the point, porn isn't necessary but will make the condition worse as it will give the Autogynephile ideas and fantasies he will want to act out. Before I watched porn all I wanted to do is go shopping get dressed up as a girl and go raving.
I could see porn making these thoughts worse, but I don't see it as the source. It would be difficult to find a male past the age of puberty that has never seen porn, but they're not all out there transitioning.
@RussBlake80 As Dr. Blanchard stated, porn has been around for centuries. You were not "born before porn". But as I stated, I do not believe that every AGP becomes that way due to porn. But I do believe that porn addiction has positive correlation with developing paraphilias. The use of porn is apparent in the way many AGPs talk about what "womanhood" is to them. Many are masochistic men who express their submissive desires with misogynistic language. It is pretty much as though they think being a woman is the MOST degrading thing a person can be... and THAT'S what gets then off.
@yme-v1t Porn addiction is different from casual porn viewing. I believe it is those with a porn addiction that causes progressive need for novelty which leads to them conditioning themselves to only become aroused by niche porn subtypes.
i only got to see near the end of it but i had a bit of a question, you mention the feminine essence theory as being the work of julia serano which is true and AGPs arent actually feminine, but hsts are feminine and think of ourselves as girls from early childhood onward. why does this cross sex identification and behaviour seem totally disregarded and replaced with an "internalised homophobia" narrative in GC spaces, when by and large its masculine homosexuals who wouldnt transition that experience higher levels of internalised homophobia
Because the "feminine essence" according to the popular Serano model or the popular "Beneath the Surface" post that's shared in literally EVERY "is it just a fetish?" post is that it's not just a "feminine essence" but a "womanly essence" i.e. a subconscious identity of "woman" on the gender identity theory. And as far as why people say HSTS transition to cope with internalized homophobia or grew up in conservative environments that punished effiminacy is that many gay men report having cross sex identification as young boys but then later grew out of it as they learned to accept themselves as feminine gay men. So *merely* having cross sex identification as a femme gay boy doesn't prove an innate gender identity of a woman; whatever the "essence" is it's the essence of a feminine gay boy, not a girl trapped in a boy's body. Hope that makes sense.
@@RayAlexWilliams thank you for your response! it definitely makes sense, you mention most grow out of it and accept themselves as feminine gay males, which is true but according to the steensma study another one of the divides between persisters and desisters are persisters tended to believe and insist they're the opposite sex while desisters only wished they were. do you think it's perhaps oversimplistic to group these two together? essence language is silly, yes, but if we merely saw ourselves as gay men, wouldnt that make the decision for hsts to transition a very ego-dystonic one akin to how AGP is?
With the homosexual subtype read what Blanchard has actualy written. GC often use the term internalised homophobia in relation to being disgusted with being attracted to others of their sex, as the reason for all homosexual gender dysphorics to transition. This hasn't been shown in either blanchards findings or accounts of genuine early onset. The cross sex identification starts prior to puberty, and persists past puberty. As it did with myself. This leads to an identifcation with the opposite sex group. " I am more similar to the other group that straight boys or gay men " thought process. " So what is the difference between ourselves and girls " thought process. That early thought process lead to a mental conclusion of sex. Remember that not all homosexuals are the same. It purely means attracted to one's own sex. That expression can be very masculine, or in some cases very feminine in it's expression. Some accounts include " I react to men the same as my girlfriends do ". All homosexuals are attracted to masculinity of male bodies and genitalia. Non if honest are attracted to someone who is more like the opposite sex. This includes early onset. Were had something called progressive philosophy in the west since the 70s of egalitarianism. Early onset don't see that as compatible with how they socialy and sexualy see the world. Some GC types call that internalised homophobia. When all that it is. Who one sees as attractive, and who will be attracted to you. The thought process of the homosexual transsexual are logical from early childhood. It is all those sets of incongruity that is the mental disorder. Early onset are usually very small males and unmasculinevin appearance even in early adolecence and beyond. We don't currently know why. Self selection or pre natal testosterone influences. Blanchard has commented on " the new crop " of both homosexual and gynephilic. Who are now transitioning. Within the homosexual subtype many of these say they only learnt about trans at or after puberty. These aren't the sample he originaly interviewed as part of his study. It maybe that cultural changes and societal kickback isn't as strong to gender non conformity. Has allowed these to surface. Together with gender ideology. They unlike the early onset continue to live in a trans community. One type who now often refer to themselves as hsts are the Gynandromorphs. She.males. Which many are on social media. Who purelesly attract gynandromphophilc men. Gender dysphoric, but not transsexual. I've come across in conversation them saying online. I'm being me. Maybe some it never worked out in an egalitarian relationship. Even in their case their still attracted to men and have sex with them. I don't think that's either internalised homphobia. It's just a fact of the pre natal influences that many homosexuals are mostly the same as heterosexual men. But an erotic target to men than women. Are nervous about being associated with any feminine behaviours. I think it all points to identity politics rather than empirical evidence.
I can't believe he dimissed what you said about trans woman saying fetish is normal and a common expreince amongst trans woman. Don't this prove these trans women are men with a fetish
@@RayAlexWilliams maybe but its true those trans women are men with a fetish and delusion. They are not women. Helping them to become women is the problem. The focus should be on helping them to become men and that crossdressing for comfort and or sexual arrousal is a thing some men do
"let's deal with semantics up front and then we can deal with actual issues" This was always supposed to be how academic writing was approached, and has been one of the biggest bugbears in this whole transgender issue. People screaming at each other because someone said "fruit is red", and one of them is imagining an apple, but the other is imagining a banana.
I agree that women don't have agp because agp are men. But women do experience auto sexual arousal and women do get a sexual charge out of dressing up in sexy closthes to have sex some even do so and masterbate. So woman can be turned on by wearing certain closthes and fabrics because its part of their sexual experience. Its not agp because they are actual woman but it is autosexual and sometimes paraphilic. Also just because he only spoke to 1 hsts who had agp don't mean there aint 1000's more out there that he hasn't spoken to. It may be rare but hsts and agp can and coexist it the same man.

I definitely think you're onto something
Idk if I would see it as a spiritual thing. Though I am Christian and would describe myself as someone with gender dysphoria and feel a need to transition
I completely agree with this idea. Its like a Baptism, reborn in liberalism. To save their wicked soul, they must become someone else.
@@defennia You should stop watching cartoons for one. You experience gender dysphoria because you are not very masculine. You have not become an adult male in part because we live in a society which no longer has coming of age rituals for men designed to help them feel secure in their masculinity. If you wish to alleviate your gender dysphoria, you need to truly become a man.
in recent interview, Blair White said that transitioning gave him a purpose in life
Now THIS is what you call a superstar interviewing a legend! 🔥🙌
As a teenager you learned to reduce dysphoria through sexual fantasies, that's all autogynphilia.
it's the other way around. the sexual fantasies cause the dysphoria.
i think having a vivid imagination can help you to just keep it all in the head ..the problems come when you try to recreate the fantasies in reality.
@@RayAlexWilliamsfirst commenter is correct.
It is not the fantasy.
It is the fact you can not live them.
@@user-rx2if3oi8n .. fantasies are just fantasies ..you cannot engineer them, they are just what turns you on and you have no control over what that happens to be. Fantasies occur in the mind first before anything else and some get to or at least try to live out their fantasies in reality.
Camped outside the Ray Blanchard venue like im trying to beat the scalpers to the last AGPlaystation 5
Great interview, thoughtful questions especially as you can bring in your own experiences. Times are very different now from the 1980s. Have you interviewed Dr Az Hakeem? That would also be interesting .
this is huge. ur whole channel is so relevant to our generations and future im so glad u do what u Ray!
24:20 is carefully worded, kudos to Dr. Blanchard for being so eloquent. i hope more people can make sure they stick to this honest truth of it.
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode 🙏 thank you both , for broadening my view and food for thought.
Have a great week ahead 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Spot on! Your analysis is astute.
@@RayAlexWilliams Thanks Ray 🙏
Did you already do the interview? We'd love to advise some questions. You should also interview Bailey and Cantor!

Thanks for listening
Fabulous interview, thanks Ray and Dr. Blanchard!
When did the desire to be a member of the opposite sex become 'I actually AM' a member of the opposite sex?
When you refuse the reality because it makes you too much unhappy.
When ppl started listening to p3d0 mental health professionals test normalize turning kids out and traumatizing
For my ex it happened when he started passing (or “blending”). I’m still not sure if he sees the holes in his thought process.
Can't wait!
What an awesome interview with this erudite ,learned man! I've only ever heard of him and his typology now I'm hearing him speak. I'm going to add Dr Blanchard to my farm of spirit animals. Great stuff Ray!
Glad you enjoyed! Welcome to the Blanchard fun club :)
I think with Lawrences statenent. Its her wishing to have been a pre adolecence gender dysphoric. On puberty blocker. Like most agp radical actvists. Its also about mixing the etiology. She gone right down in respect.
Amazing! I love that you’re interviewing him!!!
(in a general sense)
It might be a further line of thought: The "puberty blockers" oft prescribed for mtf individuals includes things like Cyproterone acetate, spironalactone etc.
I'm just not clear on the context or type of cast iron, there are many ways to achieve this depending on how you approach life
@@gonnfishy2987 In the paper it was both. I don’t remember if they discussed hormone replacement. You can look for yourself, the paper is called “Eu nuchs in contemporary society: Characterizing men who are voluntarily cast rated”.

I love your channel Ray. You are knowledgeable and curious interviewer, have great guests and your commenters are interesting too.
What exactly is plain vanilla hetero sex? How many people are ONLY interested in that, really? It seems like the story of a person living in a boring unfulfilling sex life is very well known, and corn is very diverse and transgressive. So I'm confused by all this.
Wow! What an incredible interview! 🩷
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks Ray, this was really good
Amazing, thanks for this fascinating hour.
Harmful = therapy.

Watch all the interviews Blanchard has made, Bailey, Cantor. G.I.D document available online. Thats a starter. Other sources are ideolgical.
OMG YES!
Yep he got that one wrong.
He also believes all forms of transvestism is Agp which is nonsense
I feel you. I respect your path and approach but I consciously abandoned it due to different reasons (ethical, clinical, tough personal history which was related to the conversion therapy and Russian\Soviet psychiatry, also I don't see how adherence to the "solid truth" helps people, we can't ignore in the field of clinical psychiatry and sexology ethical implications of different theories)
Also it would be interesting to ask Dr.Blanchard the question about cognitive and neurobiological processes which can be a foundation of the agp.
(or non-HSTS)
if someone has anatomic AGP and physical dysphoria at 15, can it still transform into another form of AGP that is reconcilable with having a masculine body? if yes, what's the realistic probability of that?
Great interview
I can't believe he dimissed what you said about trans woman saying fetish is normal and a common expreince amongst trans woman. Don't this prove these trans women are men with a fetish
That's a gross oversimplication
@@RayAlexWilliams maybe but its true those trans women are men with a fetish and delusion. They are not women. Helping them to become women is the problem. The focus should be on helping them to become men and that crossdressing for comfort and or sexual arrousal is a thing some men do

"let's deal with semantics up front and then we can deal with actual issues" This was always supposed to be how academic writing was approached, and has been one of the biggest bugbears in this whole transgender issue. People screaming at each other because someone said "fruit is red", and one of them is imagining an apple, but the other is imagining a banana.
💯
I agree that women don't have agp because agp are men. But women do experience auto sexual arousal and women do get a sexual charge out of dressing up in sexy closthes to have sex some even do so and masterbate. So woman can be turned on by wearing certain closthes and fabrics because its part of their sexual experience. Its not agp because they are actual woman but it is autosexual and sometimes paraphilic. Also just because he only spoke to 1 hsts who had agp don't mean there aint 1000's more out there that he hasn't spoken to. It may be rare but hsts and agp can and coexist it the same man.
