- This week spotlight lobby features the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup series with everyone driving the same car with a bit of room for upgrades and tuning. And it is surprisingly fun!

X class
Interesting tire strategy. I guess the long straights help tire temp/wear? The race at Eagle Rock(small circle track) shreds tires. I went hard tires and they were yellow at race end.
MX 5 all-day. I'm not a very good driver and find X hard to control, not to mention everyone flying around in my lower skill lobbies haha.
MX-5 definitely. I would rather do Nordschlief in Unimogs than X class.

My only gripe with the MX-5 cup is that its a spotlight series, this car is way more fun in its base form racing than it is with everyone uograding it
I got into a lobby with all unmodded cars except for 1 maxed out car. Of course he smoked the field with a couple of extra HPs. I got second place😁. I agree, the base car has a lot of tuning options and should be a spec race.
Fortunately there isn't a huge difference in times vs a 500 and you can take it to 499 at just lvl 1 and run almost identical times to a 500, so no excuses! 😆

@@succulenttrash3343 I see what you mean, would be a good permanent spec event. Perhaps slightly more competitive that way, but then again the people who are going to be competitive in spotlight would always go for the little extra upgrade to 500 anywho. Regardless I could see that being a nice permanent class. Lots of us were actually talking about that in the discord im in. Who knows, maybe someday.
@@EXRDaBeasta yeah my only gripe about the game is permanent events. The only permanent events are GT and Touring cars like even the Class events switch out every week. There needs to be more permanent variety online
Every race, its half the field off the launch. I remember this now from FM7, it never changes. Tune 1st gear, drivers!

Its Amazing how planted these Cars are on FM if you play on controller/Keyboard. You can actually see the difference.
As soon as you plug in the wheel you spin all over the place and its an oversteer festival.
I loved this series and the formula Mazda. Spec racing is fun for us duffers

Good races! I too have been enjoying them, a fair bit more competitive this week for spotlight since the car comes feeling good even as stock. One of the very few cars that doesn't need a ton of tuning to drive well.
The second race is so beautiful and satisfying.
It looks like you managed to mod your car to make it lighter than the rest of the field and that’s what made it excel. Well done as usual!

Great video as usual, I was wondering do you tune/upgrade the cars yourself or do you take a pre-made setup? If you do it yourself, how do you do it, I'm so bad for personal setup
I tune myself. There are forza discords servers that provide open tuning for spec series like this.

I was curious on trying this one out and definitely something like of iRacing with this type of setting- imo would be better if everyone was in the same *plain field* of no mods/maybe a tune & *Go*
The BRZ spec series is exactly this! Everyone same car with no tuning at all.

They are allowed, there is a pink Miata in the first race
This game looks and reminds me of a Need For Speed game (which I can't remember the name at the moment, just with higher graphics and similar game-play/physics .

Have you configured your keyboard for racing? I also play the keyboard, but your movements when turning are smoother, how to achieve this effect?
This is on default settings. Also different keyboard will give different responses.

Looks like he cut the last lap, which would have been the most interesting, it says he finished 1 second behind the leader, but the chase on the last lap still would have been entertaining to watch, what a pleb!
Hey, good race. Im the one you got the warning off of in the second race. I really thought I was going to go off track with that hit 😂. Also knew you were going to first so I want to let you know I did purposely swerve away from you when you were passing me. I didn't want to be the one to ruin your attempt.
