Masterpiece! I’m not a Giants fan, but I’m a fan of the game. Plus two “no hitters” by the time he was 30 years old! That’s sick in anyone’s book.

Funny how he had such a great peak in his first few years but never pitched a no hitter. And then when he was already on his decline he throws two no nos back to back seasons
But you have to consider out of 27 outs (28 batters faced due to the walk) only 6 batters were struck out, and of those 6 strikeouts the catcher had to throw out at least 2 (that I counted). Yes the plays were routine but even if they misplayed one and it dropped in they ruin it for him so you have to at least give them some credit for helping him out.
Do you know how hard it is to become a real MLB pitcher at 5’10 170 pds ? When I was practicing at Kent state as a pitcher, even being 6’0 182 pds they limited my potential as a lefty thrower. They said, on a real mound at the professional level you will be standing up higher and need to kick your leg up over even lower on the drop. If you were 6’1 or 6’2 you could have went pro. You have to have insane mechanics, lower mass upper body to keep the strength in the wrist and elbows and strong lower body to push the momentum of force forward from the kick. lol I like that both of his no hitters are against the padres
The oddity of his no-hitters is that they both came after his run of dominance

The other no-no was against the Padres too right?
Ya
Yep, the commentators said that it was is second no-hitter against the padres in two years
He throwed 1 in San Diego and 1 in San Francisco and both were against the Padres.
This was probably the easiest no-hitter I've ever seen, no need for a crazy catch.
A second one and both vs. the padres and on his home stand and another one away.

Posey is part time first baseman?
Both of them against the Padres!?
Buster at first wow
No hug from Posey this time after the last out since Buster was too busy catching the last out at first base xD
The padres are used to be being no-hit
And they're also used to not pitching no-hitters (IOW, they're the only team who has never had a pitcher throw a no-hitter).
why was posey playing first base?
He's a utility player. It's just his main position is catcher
Catching is really demanding on the knees throughout the season, so they want to give him a break there. However, the Giants also don't want to lose his bat in the lineup, so they sometimes play him at first.
Most catchers play a bit of first base to give them a break from catching.
Posey rarely catches when Lincecum is on the mound
go giantes
WHEN hexwas on he was.as good as they come. Even in his deckine he was better than 80 percent of the rest of the pitchers.
Was Buster Posey playing first base?
to help take load off knee's, catchers will swap 1b and home a lot
why was posey playing first?
so they can keep his bat in the lineup and not ruin his knees
oh thanks for the explaination
He plays first when Lincecum pitches.
cool didnt know that

+Elijah Brand Yes
Yes, and I'm a fan. He has 2 more no hitters against them than the entire Padres team has in history.
Why was Posey on first? I'm not a Giants fan but I know he's normally a catcher
Posey is put at 1st base whenever he needs rest to keep him healthy and prolong his catching career before having to be moved to 1st permanently.
TheRobotinvader Thanks!
No he was at first because he didn't like catching for him that's we he never catches for Timmy
