Just the kind of video I was looking for! I have a 92 C4, and I want to install this same exact entry system. I am right now putting one in another GM truck, so I am sure I will learn something there. But I have a couple of questions. First, why did you put wire pairs together? According to the same wiring diagram I have, the orange and orange black seem to go together, but I don't understand why the two wires need to go together, or for that matter, why wire the white and the white stripe wires together also? Wouldn't one or the other of those wires work? You also said to make the positive be red, yellow, and yellow black. I saw the wiring diagram, and it does show that, but I don't understand why. Can you explain the theory? I wonder if doing it that way has something to do with why your fuse is blowing. I really don' t want to disable my inside door controls. Finally, did you figure out a way to make the lights flash and the horn to sound?
The corvette uses a reverse polarity switch. So when you use the button a relay switches the pos and neg poles to actuate the door lock. If you seperate the yellows from the red and the oranges from the black and put them on their own circuit it will keep the fuse from blowing and you can leave the stock switches installed.
