Frank Kelly (Father Jack) died in 2016, 18 years to the day after Dermot Morgan. And he was a proper, trained actor, unlike Dermot and Ardal who were really stand up comedians.
@@LoneCloudHopper Make that all 4. Pauline was also an experienced actress. In fact, director Declan Lowney said the fact Dermot and Ardal were not actors made them even better for their roles.
Aww, for real? To the day? Damn. That's kind of amazing. RIP to the gents that introduced me to Ireland, priests, and the funniest fking show EVER made.
Jim Norton (Bishop Brennan) has never watched this episode as he finds it too upsetting, due to Dermot Morgan's untimely death the day after the final episode was filmed (roughly a week after this episode was filmed).
I remember seeing Dermot on an ad on a Friday promoting the upcoming season 3 of Father Ted, and then on Saturday they were reporting he'd died. It really broke my heart.
@@AthanImmortal Are you sure it wasn't the Sunday it was reported? Because he died on the Saturday after 10pm, and Ardal O'Hanlon didn't find out till the next morning when he got a call from Dermot's manager, so I doubt it would have been in the press before Sunday.
@@jackcarter5101 Yes probably just foggy memory. All I remember was I saw him promoting the new season and then a matter of a day or two it being reported he was dead :(
Eddy I think you would enjoy visiting Inisbofin Island off Connemara. You get the ferry from Cleggan Pier........Ferry sailing every few hours during the summer. Many happy memories for me :)
If you`re going back to Ireland, why not pay a visit to the village of Cong on the borders of Co.Mayo and Gallway, where the John Wayne classic film `The Quiet Man` was made.
Hello from another Irelander ( born in U.K. , but half Irish on my mums side and bit my dads ). I have a lot of family in Ireland in Dundalk ( nice town, pretty good beaches, used to visit family there a lot as a kid ). As for Dundalks Ireland jersey my younger brothers friend we knew growing up used to wear that jersey almost religiously. Oh yeah vinted are selling a lot of Irejand football jersey some from 90s to today along with ebay. Though I don't think I could see that exact one. There's a big selection.
You should go to Carroll's Cove, Caherdaniel on the Ring of Kerry. It's a bar on the beautiful beach. And if you like it enough you don't have to leave as the pub also offers accomodation next door.
This episode is LEGENDARY!!!!🍀
Also great reaction. Dernot Morgan never got to see his hard work pay off. But he gave it his all.

@@jackcarter5101 Yes she was great too. A perfect assembly of actors and wonderfully bizarre characters.

Let's be fair. Dermot Morgans death was unintentionally predicted in the very first episode when the psychic dealt 3 death cards
Ah da memories of the priest's and bishops before him flashed before his arse 😂

Mind you he also said this was his favourite episode with him if I remember correctly

You should make a video about your experience growing up in Ireland
