Oh yeah - the whole million dollar pen legend. I wish people understood three things about that. 1) Using a pencil in space is not the cheap and easy solution you think. It causes problems, which is why astronauts don't use pencils anymore. 2) The US gov't didn't spend a dime developing this pen. And 3) the Russians later began using the Fisher pens themselves.
That tends to happen with the medium point cartridges. Get a fine tip and it will mostly solve the problem. I've only had a very small glob form on my fine tip once, but it was nothing like what I had on my mediums.
It's cool I have been there and now I plan to go again they make wonderful gifts and not expensive at the factory store, they'll even put your name on for you.
. I personally like that difference or contrast of the red F.S bullet, or whatever other colour, with its chrome barrel part; I know there are some people don't like it, but I find that contrast nice.
Yes, the bullet(s) is made of brass. I have Futura, 2 0 gravity, black grid, gold grid, ch-4, some bullets, 2 ag-7, 4 cap-o-matic, space tec, stars and stripes and infinium.
I think I read that the AG-7 pen that went into space did not have the pocket clip ! Did a mod on the Zebra F-701 with a Space Pen refill. The Zebra Space Pen is now part of my EDC and "The Pen is mightier than the Sword". Back to the Moon to Stay and onto Mars and Beyond. Eyes UP and lights down, tjl Sent by Win7Pro64 w/ADSL
Nice vid! The pen makes a sound when i shake it a little. like it's a spring or something could be loose. should it sound like that? Its the AG-7 Fisher Orginal.
Very good video and the collection is awesome. How the hell you converted a Parker Jotter to hold a Fisher refill is something I would like to know. You can try removing the clip, if possible, very carefully from your red colour pen and use the clip in your brass and chrome variant because the size seems all the same. I do have about 6 Fisher pens. I lost a Cap-o-matic on my trip to Nepal and so when I came back to India, I bought another one with in blue colour with matt finish. This cap-o-matic has a metal ring at the place where the refill pops out. I did not notice any ring in your cap-o- matic. May be it is of the same colour as the cap and barrel and so not visible. Please check your pen and let me know if there is a ring there. Enjoyed your video bro.
Thank you, K, for watching and commenting. I no longer have a Cap-O-Matic so I cannot look for the aforementioned ring. The Parker to Fisher change is easy as the Fisher refills come with a white extension piece that fits into any pen that will accept a Parker refill. Of course if you lose that piece then you can't do this "mod", so keep track of those white pieces
Thank you for your prompt response. Unfortunately in India, we do not get the space pen refills with the white extension piece. I will try to find out about this next time I visit a Fisher pen store. Or maybe it is available only in the US. Nevertheless, these are awesome and very practical pens. Of course, a lot more pen brands were made in the US like Sheaffer( I simply love their fountain pens), Parker, Cross, Eversharp etc.Sadly, Sheaffers factory at Fort Madison, Iowa, is closed. Parker has also closed the factory at Wisconsin. Cross, which has taken over the Sheaffers brand, makes pens for both brands in China. The quality of these pens leave much to be desired.Wahl Eversharp is back in the market. I don't have a clue where it is made.
I have been carrying my X-mark since the summer and i have loved it, BUT lately the ink has been leaking from the ball and it glops up at the tip. It smears all over the place. Do you know why?
Could you spend some more time on the X-750 I would like to buy one for my wife because she likes a pen that is larger in diameter. I have an AG7 and two bullets. One in raw brass and the other in cooper zirconium.
Hey ATF, with the Stowaway pen if you look at the little black tip near the end of the pen, you could use needle nose pliers to pull it off. Then you can refill the pen.
hello! nice collection! have you compared the x-mark to the bullet when theyre both open-the x-mark is much shorter when ready to write which is for me-as i have large hands-not that comfortable than the standard bullet.
bjoern cis I may have remembered that incorrectly (I don't own the XMark anymore). It must've been a 0.64cm difference whilst closed but open, I believe you're correct, and it was closer to a 1.5cm difference.
If Fisher wants to keep up with the popular choices they need to go with a "gel" ink also. Their ink is way to thick and I feel don't write well at all.
The thick ink is thick for a reason. If it were thinner like a gel ink then it wouldn't work in a pressurized cartridge because it would just ooze out.
Subed and omg i want the ag7 i have the bullet like you its the first ive ever had and i only have the one next time im in Nevada im getting that million dollar pen
If they survive in space I think they should be just fine. Lol I'm kidding no worries man I went on a plane from la to ny and back. No problems at all and u had the telescoping fisher pen

I love them all but the stowaway. That looks like a chep pen. The chrome bullett looks awesome. I just ordered one from Amazon.

The US Flag pen is the only one not made in the United States.
I bought one of those pens that you showed second but it was in a package that said it was a fisher space pen
ok thank you. I have heard some mixed things about the Fisher inks but mine has been perfect before it started doing this glob thing.
It's cool I have been there and now I plan to go again they make wonderful gifts and not expensive at the factory store, they'll even put your name on for you.
For some reason the 4th pen the red and chrome one reminded me of ironman

The green material is called kirinite....knife handles are made with it allot that's why I know
I did the same thing to my Parker Jotter too.
If I win the Mega Millions I will buy every pen they make and will have a personal jet fly me over there for a tour.
I've just gotten into these. I have two so far.
Thanks for taking us through the collection.
I'm surprised you don't have the millinium. You never have to change the cartridge, they last forever.
The brand Jinhao makes a Fountain pen Called the X750....
awesome collection man! a fisher spacepen is one thing i havent added to my carry that ive been wanting to for a looong time now.
Gracias, Duane.
i have the desert tan bullet.... everybody that uses my pen wants one

The AG-7 design has not changed since it was introduced in the 1960s. It had a clip.
Nice vid! The pen makes a sound when i shake it a little. like it's a spring or something could be loose. should it sound like that? Its the AG-7 Fisher Orginal.
Ok if I don't win I hope you win and let me know I'll meet you there I live in Vegas but went to Fisher only once.
You should look to amazon to expand your collection. They have several collectible ones ranging from actual bullets to mini planes

@@ATF_CA I am trying to figure out the value of some fisher pens I have. Any resources you can refer me to?
I am looking to sell them all.
Good overview! Thanks!

NO!! No pliers! Just press down on the writing tip until the black piece pops off the other end.
no infinium?
Thanks, Rich!
Where's the five stars?? ;)
hello! nice collection! have you compared the x-mark to the bullet when theyre both open-the x-mark is much shorter when ready to write which is for me-as i have large hands-not that comfortable than the standard bullet.
I have compared the two and the XMark is about 0.25 inches (0.64 cm) shorter when fully open.
wow, thats why you didnt mention it, my x-mark is about 1,5 cm shorter than the bullet which makes a big difference (both with cap at the end) thx!
bjoern cis I may have remembered that incorrectly (I don't own the XMark anymore). It must've been a 0.64cm difference whilst closed but open, I believe you're correct, and it was closer to a 1.5cm difference.
Awesomeness!!
Clip is supposed to go on upper part of pen...
I'm aware of that.
Yay! I'm satisfied now.
Hey im in fresno too
Woo hoo, 559!
Me too
Nice video...

hey, thanks for the video!
some people mention that the spring in the clicker of the AG7 is somewhat loose, do you agree with that?
Yeah, I'd agree.
is the cherry stowaway pen metal because it looks plastic
Yes, it's metal
Dude, you have a lot of pens! Nice collection Bro!
Peace, Duane
the american flag pen is actually not made in america, its the only one that isnt.
Maxwell
Did I detect Irony?
See I don't wanted to say that instead of using million's of dollars to make this pen we can even use a pencil
Subed and omg i want the ag7 i have the bullet like you its the first ive ever had and i only have the one next time im in Nevada im getting that million dollar pen
Awesome! Let's hang out.
Wow!! realy very nice collection :) USA flag pen is so cool!
How do they handle on airplanes? I'm hoping they don't explode or anything.
If they survive in space I think they should be just fine. Lol I'm kidding no worries man I went on a plane from la to ny and back. No problems at all and u had the telescoping fisher pen

Ironically, the American flag pen is not made in America. Although, all other Space Pens are made in America.
its just the flag thats not made in merica
This is a joke right?
Andrew Bedingfield
No. People who want to buy a fisher pen want to know which pen to buy.

Well c'mon, hop on the bandwagon!
