- We just got our Roland LG 540 converted over to the brand new conversion kit to switch it from the standard factory CMWK-White to White-CMYK. We will be doing sub coats on most of our speacialty films so this was a must for us. Thanks Roland and GSG Dallas. #roland #rolanddga #rolandlg #stickerbros
Awesome. That’s insane!
We are excited man
Incredible
Thanks guys
Looks good! Still might just order a 640 LG dual. Thanks for making videos showing this off.
Thanks man! Trying to post more helpful videos on here. I think you'd love having one!
We were victim to the early adopter tax on LG's, Roland's quoted us for a conversion to this setup. Before we went ahead with the purchase it was sold as a software update till we figured the staggered head setup was going cause hassle. Haven't gone ahead with it just yet. Our Setup is Wh>Wh>Gl>Pr>C>M>Y>K. I've got used to returning to origin and having CMYK>Gl print on the second pass, not sure if after the investment of conversion we'd gain anything back in time? Does White print faster than Gloss?. I print a lot on clear but because of the UV's inherent matte quality they all require lamination of a spot gloss most the time.
Had a few firmware updates so far and it's improved the cleaning cycles alot, We don't have to empty the bottle as often.
As for cleaning I think every pouch of PR I've replenished has found its way into the bottle.... Can't find a lot of use for Primer on a roll to roll? If it were a flatbed there would be a lot of work. If we go ahead with the conversion I think while the lines are flushed I'd like to get it set up to Wh>Wh>Gl>Gl>C>M>Y>K.
It has gotten much better over the year of owning ours with the updates. We finally have 3 healthy running LGs. We are using the orange MG cartridge in the LGs while there is an ongoing ink shortage.
I buy the vg3 540 this mouth 👍 very cool shop you have
@@pro_stat1993 thank you! Congrats on the printer
bad ass!
Hey I just got this printer a few weeks ago. The print quality has been really subpar, Today I’ll be emptying the drain bottle for the third time, have you experienced it filling up fast? I’m noticing the inks running pretty fast too, I’ve barely used the white at all and it’s below halfway in 3 weeks time. Please if you can lmk your experience
Yes you need to update your machine! They just released a new update last week that makes the machine clean and run maintenance 40% less saving you more ink!
That's crazy they thought people would want white after
derp derp roland
@@user-jt5vm3mi1w I’m just glad they released the fix!
Great video! How do you cut your stickers? Do you allow the Roland to die cut it? If so, how often do you burn through cut strips and blades?
Thanks for the question! We use Graphtec FC9000s and a big Cutworx USA flatbed cutter for larger sticker runs. The Graphtecs are much better than the built in Roland cutters, although I’ve seen many do great stickers with them, and it allows us to keep the Roland’s printing while they are cut elsewhere.
Great video, thanks for posting! How do you find the prints are as far as odor? Been looking into getting an LG 300 but the sample prints that we got back from our dealer had a very strong smell that started giving us headaches, eye irritation almost immediately.
It does put off some odor as all UV printers will. It just depends what your needs are. If you just need to print CMYK the eco solvents are great especially once profiled correctly. We love our VG3s. We have these LGs for our specialty stickers where we use white inks and gloss/embossing finishes. For our normal CMYK stickers we go VG3 all day. After a couple weeks the LGs do not bother your head or eyes anymore. Some, not all employees experienced one or the other but got used to it. We are also running two in one room.
can you print 4-5 layers?
@@trustgaming_shorts yes we can
why you cut all tru the white background material? why not just the. vinyl with print on ?
Hey fellas 🤙
Awseome to know, can print white/ color without the need to back track to origin
2) can you print
white, color, gloss, without back tracking to orgin?.
and if so how far can print before risking skewing ?
If you wanted to print a large wall mural and use spot gloss
Is it possible to print something large as 54x 90inchs
Going color then gloss..
regards
Alex
Yeah pretty cool! You can do white, CMYK, matte varnish. The gloss requires a different head speed and lamp control.
What material are you using?
Would you mind sharing where you got that glitter vinyl?
Big fish digital
Oh I know him! Nice.
Can it prints color -white -color??
MG-640/300 can do it. LG can do it but with return to origin movement.
What made you guys choose this over Epson?
We have over 30 Roland’s so it just made sense for us. Epsons seem great but our whole work flow is through Roland.
