    Love your videos Andrei! Do you have a tip for setting white balance for interior shots?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  5 місяців тому

      Thanks so much! I have a custom button on my camera set to white balance Kelvin and I can easily adjust it. Typically I'm always between 3500K-4800K for interior shots. I try to get it as accurate as possible, then adjust a bit in editing. Thanks for watching!

    will this for for sony slog3?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  2 роки тому

      Yes! I’ve noticed they’re pretty similar to clog versions. Plus, if you’re on premiere pro, they’re editable so you have full control to adjust a bit!

    I wish there was a "window pull" for video. My main problem is always lighting in the home. The new houses that have tons of recessed lighting are GREAT! Older homes which can be high end homes just don't have the lighting forcing me to bring the aperture way down or ISO too high. I wonder if there's a light we could attach to the gimble?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  3 роки тому +2

      Same!! The only way to get more detail from the window is using a camera with more dynamic range, basically cinema cameras. Like a RED or something like that! Other than that you can maybe try add lighting to a room but it still might not make too much of a difference. Adding one to the gimbal wouldn’t work because you’ll see the light moving as the gimbal moves and probably wouldn’t be strong enough to make much of a difference. Thanks for watching Richard!

    • @richardhugginsrealestateph7132
      @richardhugginsrealestateph7132 3 роки тому

      @@AndreiRestrepo Agreed. Now that I think about it additional light would just blow out the window more. Maybe less color grading in post though!

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  3 роки тому +1

      Right! Can always adjust contrast a little less to get more dynamic range! Would love to do a comparison between a cinema and a mirrorless to see if there’s much of a difference.

    What ISO did you use for the interior shots?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  2 роки тому

      Hey Randall! When I was shooting in CLOG, I would shoot at iso 400. Now shooting in CLOG3, I shoot at a base iso of 800, then 1600, 3200, and so on doubling it. Cleaner iso increments. Thanks for watching!

    What music genre do you use for real estate videos?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  3 роки тому

      Honestly a tough question. Everything from Cinematic, to Beats/Pop, to slower/softer music. I base it depending on the type of property. Like a country property would be great with like acoustic/soft beats, while a modern luxury home would do great with cinematic or upbeat drums/pop music. I get it all from epidemic sound!

    Thanks for showing your detailed workflow. What should the monitor's brightness/contrast be while doing the video grading. If the monitor is dim or bright, would it impact the end-result or does it even matter? And can that apply to real estate photography as well? Thanks.

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  Рік тому

      Hey! It definitely can impact your image. There are monitor calibrators out there for that. But I have my monitor at the brightest display to overcome the ambient lighting but I also grade my image based of the scopes to make sure everything is correct regardless of how I see it. Same for photo editing, thanks for watching!

    Very informative video - thanks. Are you generally trying to avoid Windows, for not to expose the blown out highlights from outside? Or are you not considering this as a problem?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  Рік тому

      Thanks so much! No, if anything you typically can’t avoid windows for most of the wide shots. Definitely the best is to just try and get the most dynamic image possible, and it always looks a lot better if you can get some detail in the window.

  • @mrhevia

    Hi, Do you use a polarizer filter on all of your videos? Thanks!

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  3 роки тому +2

      On all my real estate videos, yes!! Inside especially because it helps reduce glare and outside it deepens blues for the sky and cuts any window reflections too. One thing to note though, is it does darken your exposure by -1 or so, depending on the strength you have it on. You’ll have to compensate by raising iso by 1 or 2 clicks but the image is much nicer! Thanks for watching!

    What Canon CLog are you using on the R6. It looks like you were using CLog perhaps before CLog 3 was updated to the R6. Also what color space if using CLog3? Thanks in advance for answer.

      Hey Tony! Yes, at the time of this video I was using CLOG bt709. Now, I use exclusively CLOG3 in cinema gamut. Most dynamic color space, better highlight control! Thanks for watching!

    Great job editing this video however why don't you outsource them? Do you edit every shoot yourself? Isn't it time-consuming?

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Otzi! I’ve honestly tried outsourcing my real estate videos, but I’m just never satisfied with the results. I probably put more time and effort than I should into them, but I feel like that’s what maybe separates me from my competition in my area and helps me keep my price point higher. I have finally found a successful outsource option for my photos but still not for video. Thanks for watching!

Between Lightroom and Premiere Pro I have a lot of learning to do but very excited about all of it (I may also very well purchase your presets!). Hi Andrei! Are you using proxies while editing? My computer plays very "laggish" the CLOG3 footage from my R6 (but plays very smoothly the 8bit files)

    • @AndreiRestrepo
      @AndreiRestrepo  2 роки тому +2

      I've honestly tried it all! Used proxies for awhile, then I was actually transcoding my footage to ProRes which makes it run like butter, but the file size are like 4x. Now I'm back to just using the codec in comes in and just playback at 1/4 viewing in premiere pro and usually works out fine. Especially since in my workflow I don't dive into color/fx till then end of the project!
