Timelapses with commentaries are among my favorite type of art videos, since it's great to listen to while drawing at the same time.

Damn Dave, this is really fantastic. WoW if by far my favorite game, and I always love seeing art from it, especially from you since you're so talented.
This is seriously an inspiration to me, after I finish watching this I'll be going to dust off my (hopefully still working) ol' bamboo tablet and give digital drawing another crack. (I used to draw digitally a lot, but life happens and just kinda stopped a while back)
When I see things like this it really just makes me want to create things like this, so thanks for posting it and keeping me inspired to make art.

"I have this loose sketch", "I have like 10-15 sketching done". Unreal.

I personally like the whole black and white phase, I think you’ve done beautifully! The color phase I feel like is the last and fun part and the black and white stage is the hard work and technical work leading up to the fun of the color.

I still can't grasp graycaling properly. I always end up making them all look the same and when I try to color them, it doesn't come out the way I want the colors to look. Love your works! I wanna learn more about grayscaling and then coloring properly. Can anyone help me understand which, where, and when to use Multiply and Overlay on grayscale? Oh and I can't wait to see you do another clip studio paint works!

you can color with overlay or multiply, whatever youre comfortable with as long as it colors the painting then adjust hue and the selection tools for the parts that need adjusting.

Hey Dave, i noticed that you change the size of the brush quite a lot, do you have any shortcut for that? In the pen or in the cintiq?

I noticed you never change the opacity of the brush (i was staring at the opacity panel to verify it) but each stroke you make it seems that you actually do. I am confused, is it just matter of pressure of your pencil? Ugh..i can't understand it

How much time do you spend doing studies or improving your knowledge and skill with basics such as anatomy and texturing vs actually doing full pieces? Do you just practice those things while doing the pieces, or do you spend dedicated time to them?

Why do you use overlay and multiply layers to color your piece? Hue or color layers are not an option?

    • @61subsandnovideos

probably the ones that he's most comfortable using. it looks great imo the colors arent washed out nor over saturated, just rig ht which fits the art piece
