I named my beautiful black Labrador after this very performance. Sadly my beautiful boy died at the age of 1. This song is very special to me. Please never remove it from UA-cam.
rip blue, you good dog you
The goat of goats. Makes me simultaneously want to learn banjo and never touch the fucking thing for fear of blasphemy. He’s one in a billion, a true wizard.
I cant watch this without crying, so much power in his player that i havent really heard anywhere else
Its not just art but also history....getting misty eyed too...😢
His banjo technique is amazing. He is doing so many things at once that it boggles my mind. I don't know if I've ever seen his equal.
He's simultaneously using like three different standard techniques and smashing them together. I'm genuinely in awe as to how well he's able to do it.
@@themanhimself1229what are the techniques? -asking for a friend lol
I'd say he's pretty incredible at making the drop thumb seem so effortless and he throws in those long brushstrokes while keeping perfect time. Not to mention he's playing a fretless banjo while singing. Really just a master of putting it all together if ya know what I mean@@extremenature9190
I know right?! It's honestly amazing. Anyone who's played the banjo would know that what he's doing is no small feat by any measure. It's like he's unlocked the true potential of folk banjo. Dude's a legend!
@@extremenature9190haha well you can let your *friend* know that the main technique he's using is a folk style that goes by many names called clawhammer/frailing/overhand style. But he is also using a technique within that style with his strumming hand called drop-thumbing as well as a lot of pull-offs and trills with his fretting hand. In another video I just saw before this one, he was also doing a 3-finger folk style towards the end of the song.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for that long spoken introduction. Yes, this is not just a sentimental song about a deceased pet!
A national treasure--if we treasured truly important things. I suppose this history is no longer welcome in public schools.
They're not only burning books - very recently a teacher was fired for assigning the Diary of Anne Frank.

Moved me to tears…
One of my favorite songs, and damn but this man can play it like nobody else.
He is such an amazing guy and his music is just breathtaking!
This man has the soul i wish i had.
You might have the soul! But you still have to work hard at your music, as he has and does, if you want to bring it out.
Amazing player with amazing voice. He feels what he sings...

Anyone else start clapping at the end?
profound. somehow he breaks through to the other side.
He's almost there he won't tell the entire truth of what happened back in the day he has the music but it's something else and history is hard the truth is a mf that's why people run from the most hated people that graced hell told the truth that's what was their crime
An add in the middle of the song? Unsub
The uploader does not control where youtube puts the ads, those times are long gone.
so, share cropping is the very worst form of slavery... when everything we need to live belongs to someone else... think about this a moment, please... look around... hmmmmm?
and.. there's no place to run, no place to hide... they got all of us brothers and sisters.. every single person on Planet Earth... it's done with paper money
and the restrictions of 10 bazillion laws and rules and regulations.. that keep us buying every single thing we need to live from someone else...
what if... we could keep the fruits of our labors?... think about this please 🙏
the StarFire Family wishes you Peace and Prosperity ad Infinitum 🙏
Peace 🙏✌☮🕊
thanks Mr Paxton... 😊 always a pleasure, sir 🙏Namaste ✌
at the end of Men in Black, the kids with the galaxy marbles... let's shake em up... see if they fight... and they do brothers and sisters, they do... that's where all the money goes
solution ==>> it costs absolutely nothing to be nice
He's not even blind.🤣
There are many levels of blindness. Only a small percentage of technically blind people have zero vision.
He is legally blind. He can't drive. As he says "Legally Blind Boy Paxton" doesn't sound as good.
@@jasonw4053 Just ignore them, pedantic trolls.
Funny...from a dude named silverback
So phony I could puke.
Funny no body asked you... but everyone has an opinion just like everyone has an ashole.... and hole is mighty large
Go ahead, maybe you’ll feel better.
