I love your idea of putting your supply of paint on your finger to help make touch ups easier! I have gotten so tiny little cups that attach to my finger (manicurists use them for acrylics) and I use those to put paint in for dotting. That way my supply is always on the hand that is holding the rock.

dot painting is about the Process not the Result...it is doing sth..WITHOUT help (with stencils)...it is doing it all by YOURSELF...and finding/creating your innermost style....and by this experience you will learn to appreciate YOUR OWN INDIVIDUALITY..AS YOU ARE...and without COPYING some (stencil or other) style...
DARE TO BE ORIGINAL...and not a COPY...in everything you do ..
people...just have FUN with it and experience what YOU can do FREELY...cause anybody can follow stencil LINES or a template..... and also...a DOT Painting...is exclusively (!) made out of DOTS...not Lines, not elongated droplets...
