I agree with the speed control in school zones. However, I was cited for a rolling stop downtown last summer. The ticket arrived from an Arizona address and I had to send the $ to a Seattle address. Seems like a racket. Too bad police don't pull people over anymore. Expired or missing plate? No big deal. Cops don't care
Many see them as a symbol of government overreach. Houston Texas red light cameras removed. They argue that the camera programs are unconstitutional because they violate a driver's right to due process by not allowing the accused to confront their accuser. Some people think the main intent of red light cameras is revenue generation instead of safety.Apr 8, 2020
@Ev. H. Houston is lovely. Spokane is only town I.have ever lived where I have to watch for.needles in parking lot of Walmart so my grandkids won't step on them.
These cameras are not sustainable. I came from a state where the people fought this and won over legal reasons. Mainly, in order to issue said ticket, there must be a witness who can testify. A camera, cannot testify other than only what it observes. This is why the law states that it is "presumed" you were driving the car (yes the law literally states this) and the State has the right to send you a ticket. Therefore, 1) Don't pay the ticket 2) You are not legally required to state who was driving the alleged vehicle and it is up to the state to prove it was you (unless the camera clearly shows it was you, good luck to the state) 3) Once you get the ticket in the mail do NOT go to court and send in a declaration stating you were not operating the vehicle at the time That all being said, I am a strong proponent for having these cameras at schools and school bus stops. There are better ways in implementing these cameras and the laws that govern them to keep the public safe. Washington State clearly did not think this through before pushing this law upon the public and if challenged, stands a good chance of being reversed.
Some family in Arizona is getting your money. Someone should put jelly on every camera. .

No. It's illegal. It's against the law to give a ticket without officer involved on site. Don't let these thugs keep sucking Fiat money from us.
@Ev. H. Your a special kinda idiot aren't you. You probably have a choke collar on while you troll people
All Spokane drivers should sue
