Randy Hansen is a true shaman. He channels Jimi he doesn't just cop those licks. After a gig this is what I listen to driving home. It sounds like Hendrix live with a twenty-first-century sound system. Play on brother, play on!
This Randy Hansen must really love Jimi , indeed. His dressing, gestures and some voice levels clearly give credence to the statement that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.Jimi must be smiling wherever he is.
Saw RH starting in 1979. What a trooper. What a talent. What showmanship! At one gig in 1980 at the Whisky-A-Go-Go in Hollywood, at the end of the show Randy ran out onto Sunset Blvd while the crowd help-up his guitar cord. There were no 'wireless' guitar connections in those days. People on Sunset Blvd freaked out! Traffic was stopping and everything!
LONG AGO RH SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLAYING STADIUMS, W/ A REAL BAND. HE IS A SUPERSTAR, PERFORMING IN SEMI-OBSCURITY. AND WHY? BAD MGMT? BAD HABITS? MILLIONS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE, MOST OF WHOM WERE BORN AFTER JIMI'S PASSING, STILL LISTEN TO AND ADORE JIMI'S MUSIC. RH BRINGS IT! PHENOMENAL! HE DOESN'T SEEM TO TOUR MUCH ANYMORE. I WISH I COULD SEE HIM PLAY, JUST ONE TIME! IT'S A MYSTERY...
Yep, it was a great evening for sure! Here is one of my favorite memories of you with Randy. ua-cam.com/video/UHyzDP_YOI0/v-deo.html I just wanted to make sure you had seen it. Thanks again for allowing me to use you footage. It is difficult to sync up with my footage, but very worth it because you are a fantastic player! Thanks again Bill.
How can you say that Stevie Ray Vaugh was a totally other gitarist that plays also 1 a 2 song of Hendrix but he plays with so many great people. Randy Hanssen is a great performer of Hendrix and also others. And for shure a great gitarist
One can not get to be this good no matter how hard or how long he practices.
One is born this way...it is in the DNA.

I've always wondered the same. I don't get why either. He should be been huge.
He's in tour now 2024 he's still at it, American public is STUPID that's why they don't know him and the MSM is to blame
That was a good memory for me (I'm on drums)
