Dr Dray, could you do a deep dive on this? Eg what type of peels are best for what skin issues? I always just assumed chemical peels were a derm money grab but I trust your opinion!!!!
I totally agree! I am a 75 year old who has been using tretinoin for 40 years. I later added Vit C and supplementary serums, k beauty products including various moisturizers. BUT when I was getting a fairly high % of a PCA peel from a plastic surgeon friend that was the cherry on the top. Having moved, I can’t seem to find a derm who will do TCA. They only want to sell me on far more expensive laser treatments.
If you're comfortable doing them yourself platinum skincare has amazing products and videos to go along with everything! I've done a few tca and jessner peels and have had amazing results. Even with their mandelic peels too
@@TakingBackTuesday Oh I don't want you to ruin your wedding with that, so I'm just gonna say that you probably shouldn't do it, because 1. they are probably not as bad as you think and 2. chemical peels below the eye area can cause very bad red irritation. Also I don't know which percentage I use, it's probably 10-20%. It's from a Korean brand and Asians don't do harsh peels. Go search on Dr. Drays channel what she recommends. I'm sure she has something on eyes. I'm sure you look fine and nobody besides you thinks about your eyelines :)
If you have melasma, laser can do more harm than good because melasma is activated by heat and laser treatment produces a lot of heat in the skin. So i would stick to good sun protection, retinoids and maybe chemical peels once in a while. Also tranexamic acid taken internally could help
Hi Dr. Dray: years ago I happened upon your site and you changed my life! I now throw myself on your mercy to pls pull me out of the MUST have skin care/makeup products Campaign being forced on women. My grooming life has been easier because I followed YOUR early skin care routine: cleanse, add Aveeno Eczema Balm , then Cerave + sunscreen. My skin looks great, thanks to you. My bank acct thanks you too!! My question is: have you discovered better creams to substitute for the Eczema Balm + Cerave? You are my hero!!! Nina Waving from Toronto
I love chemical peels and wonder why bot a lot of people talk about it. I think it’s because it’s painful and it is maybe gnarly for some people to see their skin peeling.
Aww love what do you do for work? If you don’t mind looking a little red, basically if you’re able to keep your skin clean and moisturized while ur at work, you should be ok 👍🏼 ❤
You have option of light depth peels that do not make your skin peel too much but you would have to do it more often! if you make 3/4 light peel instead of one medium depth peel which is going to make you peel more, you are going to get almost the same results. Plus usually, you have to prep your skin before which is going to lessen the amount of dead skin that would be removed.
There's also a lot of healing time with a lot of chemical peels that most of us working class people can't handle. I can't stay in the house while I'm peeling like a snake 😂
A lot of time after a chemical peel, the skin goes through a transformation and often it's not pretty lol.. Which makes it hard for a lot of people because we have stuff to do.. Personality, I'm too embarrassed to go in public with peeling slim when it's that intense. Hah.
What would you recommend as the best Chemical peel for a 53-year-old CaucasianWoman, , who's beginning to experience thinning skin and very fine lines on forehead, due to menopausal hormonal changes?
Struggling to see the point of this kinda video Cause the lack of more in depth info makes it pretty useless when lacking knowledge And if you have a lit of knowledge already, nothing new is probably added So who is this for, I'm guessing the algorithm

Glycolic acid is my bae. Idk why my skin just reacts so well with it and it seems to keep my acne at bay better than salicylic
They may darken the skin, cause purging for about 2 weeks then your skin is much smoother and brighter, depends on strength of peel ofc.
I agree you don’t need a facelift with a good peel from a doctor
Hi Dr Dray Happy Friday Thanks for sharing this info. Have a Good Night.
Whenever I stop taking care of my skin as I should, I do a chemical peel and then treat it well again and everything is perfect.
What percent do you do? I am 25 and have lines under my eyes I wanted to do a medium strength peel before my wedding

Love peels too!!! ❤
What is a great chemical peel? I have never had one, are they all the same??
Do you think chemical peels or laser is more effective for sun spots? And what type of chemical peel would you suggest? Glycolic?

@@czlowiekpomidorDepends on the laser. Melasma uses a pico laser usually which is too fast and too short of a duration tp really cause heat.

I'm having my second round of chemical peels this year next Monday! I loved my first round in April, May, June.
I love chemical peels and wonder why bot a lot of people talk about it. I think it’s because it’s painful and it is maybe gnarly for some people to see their skin peeling.
Because lasers and machines sound better
Which chemical peel is best for AKs?
I messed up my face real bad as a teen doing at home peels 😂
Problem is I can’t afford to take time off work just to let my skin recover fully 😕
Aww love what do you do for work? If you don’t mind looking a little red, basically if you’re able to keep your skin clean and moisturized while ur at work, you should be ok 👍🏼 ❤
Agreed, I can't walk into work with my skin peeling grossing people out.

@@OWALEBeautybardo light chemical peels remove acne scars? I have seen they work only for acne
Is chemical peel good for rosacea?
Love TCA peels👌
As someone who works with chemical peels 100% agree
Some recommendations?
what kind of acne scars are they useful for?
There's also a lot of healing time with a lot of chemical peels that most of us working class people can't handle. I can't stay in the house while I'm peeling like a snake 😂
I agree.
Hi Dr. Dray🌷what about chemical peels for people w Rosacea?
Wondering the same
I love doing chem peels on my rosacea clients.

Whats a solution for using benzoyl peroxide at night but deal with smile lines?
Omg I went to dermatologist for growths on my face and she said it was actinic keratosis and nothing to worry about! You just said precancerous! 😮
Oh yikes maybe find another derm then…AKs can become squamous cell cancers later down the road
@@davidle3567true
Please don't worry and see a different derm :). You would do great
Does it help against chicken pox
What are good chemical peels?
What would you recommend as the best Chemical peel for a 53-year-old CaucasianWoman, , who's beginning to experience thinning skin and very fine lines on forehead, due to menopausal hormonal changes?
Do they thin the skin
Great question 😊
Will a chemical peel damage my lipid barrier?
Hi Dr Dray can you use a face wash with salicylic acid every day and night and day?
I would do it once a day amd then a hydrating oil free cleanser the other cleanser
I am pretty sure the older people on my soap opera get chemical peels, because they don't look like facelifts, and they still look like themselves.
What type of peel is it that usually causes irregular heart rate?
A phenol peel (the dangerous one)
I had a chemical peel and my skin never peeled. I think it was too mild.
Chemical peel made me break out more and I never had any positive effects from it.
You're expected to purge
Yes, if you have acne, chemical peels and tret will make you burst out temporary but after will go away.
Everyone says if makes worse malasma
Either Botox or some magic to use no facial muscles while talking.
