[Inductor-Recorded Traction Motor Sound モハラジオ録音] Keikyu N1000 Series [Siemens GTO-VVVF]

Car Type: Keiyu N1000 Series (1033 Set)
Traction: Siemens 2-Level GTO-VVVF
PWM Pattern:
Asynchronous (90 Hz → 100 Hz → … → 400 Hz) → Advanced PWM (Several steps. I used the word "Multi-Pulse Mode(s)" for them in this video.) → 1P
(Details are described in this video.)
Sound Characteristics:
As it is called "Do-Re-Mi-Fa Inverter" or "Singing Train", the most distinctive feature is the asynchronous modulation part that sounds like playing the scale when the train is accelerating from 0 km/h. If you listen to it normally at the station or in a car, you might recognize the sound of "(E♭)-F-G-A-B-C-D-E♭-F-G" ((156 Hz)-175 Hz-...-400 Hz), but in fact, it is further preceded by "F♯-G-C-D" (90 Hz-100 Hz-131 Hz-147 Hz). However, they are almost unrecognizable in stations and cars because of their low volume or short duration.
For synchronous modulation, advanced PWM (not the simple sinusoidal PWM) is used in several stages.
For this part, I've described the pulse modes with reference to this video by yuqquu, who did the analysis of them.
• ドレミファインバーター(京急1000形・E5...
Depending on the way of acceleration and braking, the pattern of synchronous modulations seems to vary, but in this first video I will show only the usual patterns of them.
(If you want to check those patterns, please watch this second video.)
• [モハラジオ録音]【加減速パターン集】 京急...
The third file shows the "scale" part not rising ideally.I think you can sometimes recognize this even if you listen to it normally. Also, at this time, it was accelerating to nearly 110-120 km/h at once.
Since the car has an aluminum body, such a sound could not be picked up on the floor above the motor, so it was recorded at the door rail of the passengers' doorway behind the driver's cab of Car 1033 and Car 1040. (Shown in the last photo. It has become difficult to pick up this sound at the same position of Car 1040 from the latter half of 2020, probably because of the car repair.)
Although the noise component is also large, the modulation spectrum can be visualized relatively clearly.
* The AC traction PWM sound shown in this video is recorded by a sensor which is placed on the floor of a train car. This sensor is made by myself just using a 100mH inductor.
* Due to the resolution of the spectrogram software, the frequency displayed in this video may include some error. Thank you for your understanding.
* This sound is recorded in June and October 2020. The 1033 Set, which was the last one that had this sound, unfortunately finished operation with Siemens traction in July 2021, and was later refurbished. Therefore, this sound cannot be heard now.
* Sorry, I am NOT taking requests for recordings.

This is what a train sounds like !!!like the whole soul of the train.
The train sounds sings like keiyu 2100 or R160B in R188 or R142A
@@thefullspeedaheadofr160bry9 and Taurus ;)
@@Lodai974 and cptm 3000
@@thefullspeedaheadofr160bry9 to me it sounds like at R143 Siemens at 1:28
@The Full Speed Ahead of R160 Bryan uzhca 2100 is the re done version of this one I think. I am here in the uk, alstom 465s are our only GTO train left, and the 96 stock tube train of the underground (jubilee line)
In some inductor recordings of the E501 GTO acceleration, the occurance of the pattern could be A-D-F-G-A-Bb-C-D-Eb-F-G (110-147-197-223-234-262-294-312-350-400Hz)
This is a variant of the traction motors found on the C651 trains of the Singapore metro. The R160 trains of the New York subway use a second generation version of the C651’s traction motors.
Wait really? Oh wait that's true, cuz the C651 has a similar pattern of sound
Only the youngest of the R160 Quads has this motor. She’s the R160B-2.
0:09 My heartbeat when i got loudest jumpscare

Sometimes, the E501 Siemens GTO-VVVF braking has a Gb major sound by 100 Hz.
I just realised: the four Toei class E5000 locomotives used to have Siemens IGBT-VVVF inverters that sounded exactly like the Keikyū 2100/N1000 GTO-VVVF inverters, just without the musical part!
E501
The solfege notes will be (Si-So-Do-Re-Ri)-Fa-So-La-Li-Do-Re-Ri-Fa-So on the acceleration of the Keikyu Siemens GTO train
와 도레미 지멘스! wa! do re mi simens!
this summer, 1033F siemens will be replaced. i really wish i got to hear it one last time in person…
Isn't 1 pulse per half cycle very harsh on the motor?
Finnish m100 subway trains sound like this!
Imagine if the R160B Siemens sounded like that.
😝
R143 once sounded like that
Sounds similar to the 5678 trains used in Seoul
Speaking of these inverters, fortunately the CPTM 3000 series in Brazil is still in service and has similar-sounding inverters. However the scale is a little bit different. ua-cam.com/video/FYU_sXjQybU/v-deo.html
Idk why but it kinda sounds like a R143 at 3 pulse mode and R160 Siemens at the end
For the R143 Siemens propulsion, remove the musical part, and change the pitch to 500hz.
And the V Type Car train

Could you also do NJ Transit’s Arrow III EMU?
Is it possible to record the inverter of an electric bike controller? Or an electric car too?

What is the name of the program you use? if it is not too uncomfortable, could you leave the download? i'm a big fan of these VVVF.
I use WaveTone.

Sounds like the R160B
You should record the Metra Electric Nippon-Sharyo EMU's. I wonder how they sound
I have already uploaded that in my website. Here it is! vvvfdatabase.starfree.jp/vvvf_data/metra-nictd.html#highliner2
@@ebaraexpress7260 :O
As of now those exact inverters have been completely phased out. To hear a similar sounding Siemens GTO-VVVF inverter you will need to go to either Taipei, Taiwan and travel on their Metro Bannan line C321, or Singapore and travel on their MRT North South line or East West line C651. This is not a request, it's a recommendation if you want to hear those inverters again. Luckily, someone has recorded the C321's motor a number of times: ua-cam.com/users/ClarenceHuang
or sao paulo cptm series 3000
@@marcoaurelio4903 Unfortunately now the CPTM 3000 series have been phased out already.
At 1:28 it becomes the same as R143 Siemens also meaning you don't have to make a separate video of the sound of it
no
0:10-0:16 was used in the R143 siemens proplusion in 2004 correct me if im wrong
I checked those videos, and I thought 0:15-0:17 is close to that.
Yeah but remember, the first gear that the R143 uses.
So 0:10-0:16 was used in it
Do you have any recordings of British rail class 465s or class 365s?
Or 96 stock even 😂
I download my movie that
Hey it's me again from the last video any chance you could record the Lirr M3 and M7?
Sorry I want to try again but now I'm in Japan and still having no chance to get out from my country.
@@ebaraexpress7260 Whenever you get chance please do!
@@Thomasm_Dev Yes, but I can't get this kind of sound from M3 because they have DC motors.
Instead, I want to record M8 again and the brand new M9 trains.
@@ebaraexpress7260 I personally am thinking of getting a mini audio recorder to use.
@@Thomasm_Dev I’ve recorded the M8s, they honestly sound like garbage. I used the exact same setup, but those MELCO traction motors are just terrible.
someone should do it for the c651 in singapore
only in nsl phase 1
is it true that there is only 1 set left of the 1000 series with the siemens GTO VVVF?
Yes, as of January 2021 only the 1033 Set has this singing traction. The other sets' traction have already been replaced with new traction systems by Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and Toyo Denki.
@@ebaraexpress7260 that's very sad to hear, now im very curious about how much will the last set with GTO remain operating...
Rumours suggested 1033F wouldn’t go for upgrading until 1025F finished the remaining part of hers. I was expecting Feb 2020 so I managed to take a few ride with her at Jan 2020 when I traveled to Tokyo, just before COVID-19 prevented me from visiting Japan. A bit surprised to see her still running with Siemens GTO that long. Hope I can hear the song by myself again when I visit Japan again.....
Pls record m7
I tried but failed to get the ideal sound.
I'll try again when I can go to NYC again from Japan!
Do the r142a/r143/r188
