In this episode I build the port side panel of the boat after making a large cardboard template. I also make frame C1, the most forward frame, after making a template with hot glue and door skin pieces. The inboard side of the side panel does not get fully fiberglassed yet, this allows it to more easily curve to the shape of the hull when it’s attached. I just add some 7cm strips of 1708 where the foam will meet the frames. This helps spread the pressure of the frames on the side panel so it doesn't damage the foam core. Lastly I cut the access holes in frame C1.
THE BOAT: Scow Bow Mini-Cruiser. 14’ long (4.25M,) with a 6’ beam (1.8M.) She features twin keels and a Ljungström rig. Every design decision is made to keep her simple, strong, and watertight.
