One solid effect of your February shorts videos I think you should hear about: It has me searching for your content every time I'm on UA-cam, and wouldn't you know it, there was a video I missed and didn't watch and give a thumbs up to.
Thanks for the feedback. Each video has gotten less views than usual, but because there are many I still have more total views for the month than usual. It's been an interesting little experiment.
You have me screaming at my TV. Don’t do it… Don’t do it! OK, I’ve calmed down now. - I’m sure you will be close enough… Your solution for the starboard was so elegant I feel bad that you have to take second-best for the port side.
Thanks! It was only 13 days since the last video though, that's about my average. Once a week would be great, but it's usually more like 10-15ish days.
I am so excited about your boat. I was not kidding when I said “if you need a hand moving a trailer or driving to Mexico or whatever… “ I would love to be in on that.
I love that! That was some great thinking… I’m so glad you thought to do the inside on the flat, allow that to sag over the “shape” and then add the outer layer of the sandwich. Really cool.
Packages on the way. Not all will arrive on the same day. Perhaps you will remember me when you use these packages and the others I have sent over the past two years. My money is on you to succeed.
My main concern is just making everything strong enough for ocean passages. I guess it's heavier than it looks, I would never call it "very light weight."
Cpt Perry where did the design of your boat come from? Is it yours and did you calculate all of the material and construction requirements? Thanks, Ben S/V DAWN
Search for Tenten 425 for the plan I started with, though a lot of modifications were made. I estimated materials needed at the start and did a big order. But, I've bought plenty of new materials along the way as needed.
Several thousands before you ever get to buying a trailer for it. You have to really want a custom sailboat self-built just the way you want it, and really want to spend countless hours building. Otherwise you're better off getting a used boat and fixing it up.
@@ocean_capable_small_sailboat i see, what small boats would you recommend for the moment i have a maxi 68 that i have fixed up (was about to go to the junkyard before i got her) to sailable. Thx for your reply btw :)
No problem. There is a saying, "The best boat is the one you have!" I had never heard of the maxi 68 but it looks pretty cool. I would just keep that and keep improving it. @@voncth5791
@@ocean_capable_small_sailboat Good saying! i will do the best i can with it. It's a Swedish boat i live here in the Gothenburg area. Really like your channel you have many good ideas, look forward to see when you take her out on the ocean
Port side panel is fully installed. Starboard side matching panel is built, but not installed yet. I'm holding off because once it's on it's much harder to get inside the boat if I want to do any work in the cabin.

Looking very good.
She is getting bigger and bigger.
Mini-cruiser is now a bit misleading.
Good video.
Thanks!
Definitely mini still! :) @@ocean_capable_small_sailboat
Happy 2024. The splash year.
This project rules. Here is my comment to boost this stuff to get more eyes on it. 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome! Thanks. I hope you come back too.

OCSS skulduggery is afoot I see…. Looking good Cpt.
Looking Good!

Captain,
You're finally back! I've missed your videos. Wish you a "sailable" 2024 on your new awesome boat.

L'aventure commence par la construction, bonne année. 👍
Happy New Year Captain Perry. All the best in 2024!🍾🥂

Thanks Thomas! I have your e-mail still.
I shouldn’t have doubted you. It worked out fine.
Well Done looks really strong
Thanks so much!
Happy new year.
I love your optimism, Perry. The changed game plan for the second layup was a brilliant idea. Cheers.
Nice work!👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
Slowly but surely you're getting there.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

Starting to look like a boat! Nice stuff!
Hi Captain, happy new year to you and family. Good luck carrying on with the boat build.

Thanks 👍
Looks amazing! Happy new year! 😀
Happy new year! Thank you.
I watch a lot of good boat building channels, but yours is my favorite. Good luck and happy new year.
That's awesome to hear! Thank you and Happy new year to you too.
You're doing an amazing job. I would subscribe twice if I could. Keep up the great work.
Very kind! Thank you.

Massive thank you, Tommy, for the generosity and belief in the project!
@@ocean_capable_small_sailboat It is not so much that I believe in the project, I believe in you. You are the difference between failure and success.
Looking very light weight , what weight are you shooting for ?

good to see you two, happy new year
Starting to come together. Out of
Curiosity how much did you spend on the foam core material for the build?
$1200 for 19 sheets back in 2021. It looks like 19 sheets is just enough to build everything I need.

Take a look at previous videos - all answers are there! 😉

Sir, If you build the same boat using aluminium how much weight difference will be there.
sorry, that's more of a naval architect / marine engineer question and I'm not that smart.
How much does this cost? Im asking cause this is something i maybe would do
