American and Allied Nations. The thing is: Multiple Governments made some piss poor decisions and they should have done things relating to certain policies on there own.

Imo the top military leadership did a piss poor job of the Afghanistan handover n that’s exactly what it was! It as treasonous imo to leave our troops Allie’s n billions in weapons for Taliban isis etc n leave helpless ppls in hands of vicious enemies and then fly the enemies into USA!! Oh yes please, thank you both. I always enjoy Mr Baker's turn of phrase "things going sideways"...... "an amazing array of hardware", he's well served in telling people whats what if those people want to hear it. But...............without actually saying it.

PDB has been a great podcast with Mike. It comes out early enough in the morning to listen to on the way to work so my brain isn't complete mush when I arrive and I can have somewhat substantive conversations with my coworkers about whats going on in the world.

Mike Baker? Uh, no thanks. The best thing about not listening to another interview with Mike Baker is that we don't miss anything.
My favorite thing about Mike being on a podcast is all of the comments talking about how he single handedly talks the most without actually saying anything of substance lol. I have found this to be the case with the JRE and PBD podcasts, I hope that we are all wrong on this 1. I will be looking forward to watching this in a few hours.

Tbf most people who do that are just riding the bandwagon and doing it bc its cool. If you actually listen what he says makes sense. Hes not breaking any ground and its not particularly unique insight but hes very knowledgablr
@@dranreb1118 I appreciate your balanced approach in your response hopefully you maintain that after my reply but what I have noticed from Baker is he tends to repeat things a lot and speak around the question instead of giving direct answers especially when you push on a certain topic but that is to be expected after so many years of CIA training I honestly wouldn’t expect anything different given the amount of sensitive information in their brains having to filter all of it to ensure they don’t accidentally say something they’re not supposed to I don’t feel any questions were asked in this interview that would have required him to give an answer he would feel uncomfortable giving they were basically water down generic responses but thank you again for your balanced approach

Read the Afghanistan Papers.... specific people are responsible. U.S. created the insurgency in Afghanistan in the 80s and Iraq in 2003 as Paul Bremmer disbanded the entire Iraqi military with no alternative means to provide for themselves and thier families.... Utterly ridiculous.

When you read Mattis’s book Call Sign Chaos, it really gives you a better understanding of the reality of what we did and how the politicians and military commanders in Washington absolutely failed in their decision making, and how quickly we could have killed Bin Ladden and gotten the fuck out of Afghanistan! Any time you interview a former CIA, you won’t get a straight answer, the agency has all former agents on tight leash.

I see Mike on Joe Rogan and it’s a guy that says everything without saying anything. This was a great podcast and a different approach. Between a seal and devgru with a CIA guy. Very informative.
An obvious example is 8-Billion dollars would be a great help in Hawai. Rather than being shot into the skies, amed at our allies, not to mention the number of Americans that have surely been killed in the past 20+ years from American funded terrorist organizations all around the world.
I really think there will come a time when Americans wake up and realize this, causing an uproar right here in the US that may not be controllable, if just a handful of police and millions members "disobey" orders in favor of a government change. I think It would cause a MASSIVE chain reaction..

There is an inherent problem that the US government, especially senior military leadership is so closely tied to weapon manufacturers.
If you are on the board of Raytheon, Lockheed Martin or Colt Defense while serving the Pentagon, guess what you would like to see - tons of weapons and ammunitions left
in Iraq and Afghanistan, so you can order new equipment and make your cut.
Take a closer look at the weapons used by Hamas during the recent attack on Isreal - all M4s, with the same scope the Marine Corps uses. These guys have a lot of money
and the Taliban were happy to sell it to them. And the Taliban are basically former Afghan National Army, they've just changed uniforms.

Iabout shit when I heard that China was there making deals with the Taliban for the precious metals even before we left. I'm not saying we should have just taken it but why not at least pay ourselves back with interest. Then stay as mine managers giving those that were allies good jobs with our protection even if private military guarding them.

I dig both of these guys, but they both did something throughout this podcast that I don't see either of them do a whole lot of, relative to others anyhow, by largely just making stuff up to sound more aggrieved. I'm not so sure about Andy, but I know that Mike understands what the $6B of released frozen funds is Iran's money, not ours, & I believe he even knows that the account is heavily regulated by the U.S. so that the money, in theory (I'm not going to pretend I trust this fully), really can only be spent on delicious & nutritious sustainably grown free-trade cage-free dyes-free carbon neutral conflict-free & you better believe dairy & gluten-free foods, medicines, & other "humanitarian goods". But hey, they were also both pretty nuanced on topics throughout, so maybe I'm just writing this comment to hear the sound of my own typing voice...I admire Andy for being intellectually honest when there is very little reward for doing so, & both of these men are unbelievably handsome, causing me to question my own sexuality.

Because state politicians weren't living long in Afghanistan and Iraq. Not even the Secret Service or Delta Force were able to protect them. They got killed left and right.
I wouldn't say Mike sounds like an asshole. I would say he sounds well informed and wise enough to learn from history.
