Love that Jack Carr is one of the elite veteran alumni who calls out the military/industrial complex. Too many military bro influencers are fluffing each other nuts over their ops in modern foreign wars. Not a good look when we know so much about how the military/industrial complex functions and how corrupt it is.

I must say, it was the best interview I’ve seen with Jack. I smiled and laughed often as Andy put Jack in what I could tell were some uncomfortable positions for an honest response knowing him well. As a former navy fighter/attack pilot it was like chatting with a former squadron mate who knew you and nothing much is filtered or scared. It was long, but enjoyed the entire 3 hours. I loved the part where Andy said he signed your name at book signings. Only your true buddy could get away with crap like that in a public forum and then admit it. Like no big deal, Jack. lol

What a great podcast! I'm someone who really likes the way Andy approaches topics. He seems very level headed . I laughed at Jack saying that it's like needing to separate the kids and send them to their rooms. So true given the way they have been behaving.

I'm not a 'comment' kind of man but I give credit where it's due and you both deserve positive recognition. You both personify the example by which men should live and also set an example for the younger audience by speaking truth without influence - which exudes strength of character and integrity; two things that are in short supply these days. Cleared Hot has become my go-to podcast and I'm nearly finished with The Devil's Hand as well. I often recommend you both to friends and family, touting Jack as a modern day Alexander Dumas. Keep doing what you're doing. Perhaps we'll run into each other on the range someday.

Jack I have all your books and love them. I'm grumpy till a new one comes out. Andy needs to write a book. I agree with him about the market being saturated with SEAL books. I however will keep buying them. I wish Andy would write a book about normal SEAL life. Hazing new guys and just how it's like when everyone is at base and just interacting with each other. There's gotta be some great stories.

I was playing around with ChatGPT to write a book last night for shits and giggles actually. First run, it generated 6 2-3 small paragraph chapters. I kept introducing elements, having it expand chapters and after about an hour and a half I went to bed and had nightmares of how fast AI is going to destroy us all. What it wrote was not quite ready for prime time but damnit if that thing did not take my tweaks and critique and actually change its work to make it better.

At 57:00 the discussion about GPT gets going; I think creatives like Jack will do well. While GPT may create content suitable for use it takes asking it the right question to generate the right or best output, takes someone with knowledge to know if the content is reality based and good, and most importantly GPT won't be able to engage humans in a forum like this podcast.

Right now it does. I remember when chess GMs were certain the best chess would be played by a human paired with an engine. Now the engine is the definition of quality play, and even the best players could not win 1 game in a 1000. Of any industry, AI has the most training data in the domain of writing. It knows what quality writing looks like already, and will get better and better as it is corrected by users over time. It's coming for code right now, some that's another data set it has plenty of training data on, but it's coming for art, music, engineering, and every other creative endeavour. Quality in all of those domains matter, and eventually the quality improvement will be undeniable.
