Nice work. Don’t believe I’ve seen the track loader before. Lots of big cottonwoods in my area. They do kind of slow the bank erosion along the creeks.
Back in the early to mid 2000's when I cut firewood I use to love getting calls from farmers that a tree was either dead along their field or a big oak tree blew over. They wanted me to wait till after harvest but that was fine by me because I could drive along the field to get close to my work.
Most of our fields can drive around to get to trees anytime. It's not the greatest tree for firewood, but theres a few dead ash trees along there to take down.
Hopefully you get some dry weather and things start drying up, if you encounter a loony stranger waving at you on the road this week wave back it is probably me.
You still have that Buddy willing to burn Cottonwood in his boiler or have you guys covered him up in the stuff already? I would leave it right there in the woods myself! Not a fan even for camp wood. It is hard to focus on firewood with fish that close!👍
He's a complainer and complained about the free wood we have given him. We offered him to come and we would load him up withthe basswood and cottonwood we have here from tree jobs. He is to lazy and doesn't want to have to cut it.
@BertsCustomCuts there's near 6,000 scattered around the world. One in good shape, can pound a wood mizer in the ground production wize.. With less people. . The original company in Oregon. Under new ownership. And another company in Texas, duplicating the mills. There all yellow, not orange. I worked for the company for 1.5 years before the original owner put it up forsale. Are first one was made in 73 the one we have now was made in 92. . I seriously considered buying the hole company, but I didn't have any backing $$$$ wize. Or property. But Tones of knowledge, been around them all my life. If I have the time to do another cross country trip, I want to swing down to Texas, as he's definitely interested in having me stop by, if I'm ever passing through NE area of Texas. Somewhere around the crossroads of US 82 and 259 highways.
Great job, Bert 👍🏼
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great cutting!! It's easy to get saw stuck on those types of cuts!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
You got that right!
Good Job Bert ( Ty Ron
Thanks
Big tree Burt. Easy to get a saw stuck… you did very well. 👍 I’ve been there with issues 😂.
That is a challenge not to get the saw stuck.
@@BertsCustomCuts I spelled your name wrong. Sorry early morning there Bert, lol
That one cut you made over your head made me nervous! It came down hard.
From the camera angle, it looked closer than it was. It landed 4ft from me.

We used the track loader to scoop up gravel at Chris's old woodyard.
It's wild seeing that much water pouring out of that tree, like a sugar maple cut in March.
Cottonwoods run heavier in spring as well.
That’s a lot of wood good job
It's not the greatest wood, but it will burn.
Hi Bert,Ed form Vermont,Big Ass Tree, just got back in the woods yesterday here in Vermont, been rain daily,so wet
It's been extremely wet here since as well. Starting to dry up some the last few days.

Nice bunch of stinky wood there!
It sure is! You said you wanted more stinky crap wood.
Hopefully you get some dry weather and things start drying up, if you encounter a loony stranger waving at you on the road this week wave back it is probably me.
It's dry for now, but they are talking more rain.
Big old stinky cottonwood! Leave it there and let nature take care of it😂👍👍
@outdoorsinthe608 im sure some of it will get split and mixed in with wood to burn in the shop. Going to leave the stubs for the woodpeckers.
Huge tree Bert 4:06
It was a big tree. May leave the stump stand there for the woodpeckers
👍
Thanks for watching
What kind of tree is that Burt? Looks heathy, must have been a big storm. Stay safe. Ps more wood for the processor and Chris
It's cottonwood. Chances are good Dad will burn it in the shop.
Bert that looks like a cotton wood , it’s a shame to loose some of the crop because of a blow down.
Probley lost less from tree than we did with all the flooding after this was filmed.
That's alot of wood! next to water we get mostly Alder growing will it become firewood?
It will be firewood for dad in the shop.

@@BertsCustomCuts Sounds like it may take some frozen water lines or a $1200 propane bill to adjust his attitude and work ethic!🤣🤣
@waynetharp probley would still complain and not change his mind.
WOW, that was a big tree, what is it? From Chris's comment, it probably isn't a good one.
It's a stinky Cottonwood.
Here a channel for felling monster trees Is_Woko 😊
Cottonwoods get big fast. They cut easy but stink like crap.
Too bad its cotton wood.
Some of those would have made good shed lumber.
Never cut any on a sawmill. May have to try it and see how they are when dry. Would work for wall boards on a tree stand.
@@BertsCustomCuts hears a old advertisement for are sawmill.

That would definitely be a handy mill to have.
