I like it. We've been paddling for years, but the fishing range is limited. Just setup a trolling motor on a canoe, but am already looking hard at Gheenoe's, mainly the 15'4" for cost/value/weight. Looking to roof carry for camping and maybe truck bed for non-camping outings. Sure I'll grow tired of lifting that much weight. Most of our camping/paddling adventures are at Ft DeSoto in Pinellas county and much of the water in that area is a no-gas zone. All of that combined points to the 15"4'
That’s how it came when I bout the gheenoe. They were pretty sturdy tho. Honestly I couldn’t tell you how they were anchored. I now own a classic. Sold the highSider
Sweet set up! I have the same cooler and Ive been wondering if it fits in front of the bow bench seat to use as a casting platform as well as get some weight forward, of course without a battery there or anything else (just trying to get my dream rig figure out in my head so I can price it out lol)
Super easy to make man. Just went to Home Depot and got some pvc pipe. Can’t remember what size but then went over to the lumber area and found some wooden Dowell just a hair smaller and some jbweld
Wend home and put the wooden dowel in the pvc to stiffen it up and then left about an 1” to an 1.5” of the wooden dowel out of one end and cut it to make a point and covered it in jb weld. Cheap and easy!
Awesome rig! I just got one, have the same motor to. I am wanting to do alot of the same but have been worried on weight and distrabution. How does it do on the water? Able to get on plane pretty easy still fully loaded? And for the speakers did you remove the foam inside the seats? Thanks!
Sorry for the late response, boat performed the same as it did before and after. For the speakers in the front seat I only cut out enough room for the speakers themselves. I wanted to leave as much foam as I could for flotation.
Yeah can probably do a video about how I did the rear deck. I just did a quick and simple deck. I didn’t want any down time so I didn’t cut in to any fiberglass or fiberglass anything. I just got a piece of 1/2 plywood, Not marine grade. Some acrylic paint to seal the wood as best I could. Some pvc to support the back section of the deck and SS screws to secure the deck to the existing bench. Probably makes no since, so I’ll try and put a video out one the rear deck.
awesome ... so my question is -- how is it with all 3 of you in the boat? I currently love kayaking in the tampa flats - but my kids want to go with me. So i am thinking of selling the yak and picking up a gheenoe. My real question is how wide is the trailer (fender to fender)? my issue will be with storage. It will have to go in my backyard (wish it could fit in garage) - but my worry is fitting through the gate on the trailer. If it can't fit on the trailer, could you drag/carry/ each separately to the backyard or are they to heavy?
I’ve been out a few times with my wife and one little one (3), handles fine and as long as it’s calm and you are cause of your surroundings ( other boats ) it’s fine. Not real comfortable for long periods of time with little kids. Not much room to walk around. I also have a kayak and upgraded to a Gheenoe for the same reason. As for width of trailer I will have to get back to you in a day or two. And for dragging it in the back yard I say it’s Doable, but it wouldn’t be any fun. And probably would deter you from taking it out.
I have never owned a Gheenoe until just recently. I've always wanted one and now I have a 15'4" can't wait to have it out on the water.
That shifter extension is clutch! only reel gheenoe owners would appreciate that, cool idea man
Sumthang ELSE Thanks bub. Not the prettiest thing but it works awesome..

4:54 what are those cleats screwed into? The rail has no strength to pull on.

Kenny Fontan I let you know if it does.
Thanks 🙏🏼
It will fit. I tested mine out this evening actually a pretty sweet place to keep cooler might have to try it out next fishing trip.
Sweet! Yea exactly my thoughts as well, and gets you in a better casting position standing on it
Dude I would love to see how you made that push pole

Can u do a video or explain further how u made the rear casting platform. Also, where do you put your rods?
