- I ride from Isiolo to Nanyuki, at the foot of Mount Kenya, in Africa. The day is really hard, with a monumental 45 kilometers long climb to start the day. On the way, I meet several fantastic Kenyan people. Kenya is definitely an awesome country to visit.

Another wonderful video. However, there are a few points that require clarification. Firstly, it's important to note that Khat is not illegal to chew in Kenya 🇰🇪; the individuals in the video may simply be camera-shy. Secondly, when traveling between Isiolo and Nanyuki, the first Bantu group you will encounter is the Ameru. Meru County is not only renowned for the best Khat but also serves as the agricultural hub of Kenya. The Ameru people are the most distant Bantu group in Africa, closely related to the Kikuyus, but distinct from them. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that a part of Nanyuki falls within Meru County, and two-thirds of Mount Kenya is situated on the Ameru side.
Thanks for the explanation
@@KinoYves. The junction that passed when entering meru nanyuki highway is called subuiga. Those dormant volcanic hills in subuiga are breathtaking
good explanation, love it
What do you mean by distant Bantu. Bantu are all over Kenya. Go to western Kenya . Kisiis are all Bantus. Go to Congo, even south Africa.
@@mikedelta2895 Within the community you have mentioned radius, who surrounds them to the North, South, East, and West, excluding fellow Bantu? Meru shares only its southern border with Bantus, while Nilotic Samburu is to the West, and Cushitic Somali and Borona are to the North and North East respectively, placing Meru as the northernmost Bantu.
I love Kenya, my home for the last 30 years. A 1000 times more pleasant than Europe and America, no exaggeration.
Kenya is beutifull but my country is also beutifull in Europe Serbia so if you not visited you cant say that ok.
If only people would appreciate this beautiful country

So Kenya is only beutifull country in whole world come on see other countrys before only prase Kenya
Indeed it's a place to be daktari
Oh man, I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear during this whole thing. It was like pure happiness in every moment. Absolutely amazing.

Like yves is getting a real view of this country of my ancestors.
I heard Zimbabwe is super friendly too as long as you stay away from political things 😅
I have a Dutch guy whom i met in Netherlands 6 years ago , we went to Kenya several times, Mombasa, Nakuru , Nanyuki and Eldoret. He fell in love with Nanyuki and Nakuru so in two years we are planning to relocate either to Nanyuki or Nakuru., i cant wait to be back in Kenya for good.
Yves You are so kind to everyone you meet on your journey.
At no time are you nerfed, even if some become too intrusive.
That's what makes a good globetrotter = balance and friendliness❤
Correction Yves. The tribe after Isiolo and all the way to Nanyuki are the Meru. Meru county is one of the most beautiful counties in Kenya. Safe travels. 💪🏼
bro all you do is booty clap for horners and somalis lol you wish you were one of them lloll
In Timau we have mixed Kikuyus and Merus

I hope the Ministry of Tourism is watching 😊 you are doing a great job!
cant wait for the next episode... I've seen more of Kenya through you than anyone else yet i'm a resident

Am visiting Keny through Yves. a lovely country and people. Tnx Yves! (From Ethiopia)
I just have goose bumps every time I watch you in Kenya....am so proud of this country and the people....the hospitality is of another level.
Kenyans are very humble and friendly, and well educated compared many other African countries
All thanks to our forefathers Kenyatta, Moi and Kibaki whose motto was to eradicate ignorance through education.
And they respect your privacy
@@anakisanoldnoriginalYTwewe mjinga, Kenya is not educated because of mere politicians

Thank you Kino for your very kind words about Kenya and its people. Just a correction, when you drive out of Isiolo and even actually within Isiolo, the majority of the people are Borana and other cushites followed by the Meru. So you were referring to the Meru and you thought its the Kikuyu, while the Kikuyu are also there but a minority in that part you were driving through. Only when you reach Nanyuki is when the number of the Kikuyu drastically increases
He says kenya is developed than Ethiopia which is very true. We should appreciate our beautiful country!
As an Ethiopian who has never been to Kenya, I think Yves's comment makes sense from what I saw in his vlog about Kenya so far.
I am Ethiopian you can't compare Ethiopia with Kenya, we don't even have a coastline, Kenya is on another level, but Ethiopia is growing fast and probably will take over within a decade or two.
I'd say they are unique in their own way.. I loved it when he was in Ethiopia and I find it still wonderful to see Kenya.. Boy.. I wish I could set foot in all the places Yves is riding through...
Well Kenya dealt with colonization and was and is practically a commonwealth of England. Of course you are more developed. You have the Brits to thank.
@@deesee3622 nope I disagree! Kenya isn't developed because of the British but exposure...even some other countries which we're colonized by the British are behind.
Thank you Kino for paasing through Kenya, the pride of Africa.
Ati kino😮😂😂😂
Kiswahili words used.
Simama means Stop or Stand depending on context. The man meant stop we have a look (at your strange tricycle).
Kisima means Water Well.
Kenya is Awesome❤. Kenyans we are so friendly to visitors especially from Europe, but I don't know why europeans don't treat us the same way when we visit their country.
sometimes the world becomes unfair to us when racism comes onboard.😢.
I am glad @Kino Yves is able to share this with the whole world and show the rest of europe how friendly and loving human beings we are.
We need to end racism in the modern world.
#Respect.
Then it's good to know that and don't hate anyone but also stop treating them like they're better than you. Sometimes, I think it's not liking mzungu..it's more of seeing them like the superior race.
Because the same Africans will treat their own like rubbish. How about appreciate your people more and have self-worth.
We love Zambians, Rwandese, Ugandans, etc, even Nigerians. Kenyans are friendly to all visitors, not just wazungu. We even like Tanzanians although they hate us for reasons which are not obvious to many Kenyans. In Nairobi, I have met many Africans who love Kenya because of the warmth and welcoming attitude we have towards them. Give us some credit, that we are hospitable and friendly hosts.
We Africans are human to all but ourselves.
@@tomasg8604 sad truth 😢
Poetic, clouds like a canopy. Amazing Kenya, truly mesmerising
As you proceed towards Nairobi the roads might be a little bit Dangerous.
I don't know how you will cope with that.
Kenyan drivers are a little dangerous as you approach the city.
I would suggest you choose roads with less traffic. You can ask locals for directions on such roads, but avoid picking roads which are hilly.
Some roads have steep climbs.
True. I was worried for him because i know Kenyan drivers. They are careless.

Simama has virtually two meanings - 1. Stop or 2. Stand up
Apparently, Inuka is stand up simama is stop
@@boycheezy Correct but most Kenyans use Simama. ( Just use public transport & listen to how kids are intructed )
Simama.
La si mama ni baba.
@@boycheezy you're trying to admit that it's correct to tell someone, 'inuka wima' which means get up steady' instead of simama wima which means stand steady. I would say it depends on your current status because 'simama' has two meanings. That includes stopping someone who's moving too.
@@myvoiceafrica254😂😂😂😢😢 Poor children.

Man I miss Kenya, I remember eating at that same restaurant but I didn't know they had a backyard like that
Just watching your journey . Fantastic. If you pass by Muranga town will get your bike cracked frame repaired for free @Cionee Limited workshop.
Between Isiolo and Nanyuki is mostly Meru land. They are also Bantu speaking. But the area between Timau, Nanyuki and Naro Moru was originally Maasai, then expelled by the British, and then Kikuyu farm workers brought in, who are now majority in Nanyuki. The white guy at Kisima is a local farmer and descendant of the British landowners.

"Simama tuone" and many other requests were mainly out of curiosity. Your bike is unique and they wanted to catch a thorough glimpse of it.

Yves ..Here in South Africa, I guess in Africa in general also, when we eat and people approach, we politely ask if they'd like to join in. Normally they don't because they can see the food is not sufficient for more people.. Thanks again for another segment. I love seeing how vast and serene Africa is.. Wow Kenya people are so friendly
My friend you missed most part of Oromiya while you were in Ethiopia. There are beautiful places to visit along the eastern to western part of Oromiya. Come and visit us another time. Enjoy your time.

Let me explain about 'simama' - 'Simama' has 2 meanings
1. it can mean stand up if you're seated.
2. it can also means stop if you're moving.
In your case Yves you're moving, so they were telling you to stop so that they can see your trike.
Safe journey and remember as you go towards Nairobi, there will more cars on the road and public vehicles called 'matatu'.
In Kenya you feels like you're in Europe. Everything is modernised. Everything is available in KENYA
