    Very good i was thinking of building something like this but i dont think id be able to compete. With something like this you could grow plenty of grasses for live stock.

    I’ve grown attached to using Happy Frog Potting soil, will that media work with this system? I’m sure I would have to clean filters and pumps more regularly but have y’all tried it?

      Each flood tray has a debris screen and there is a while system mesh filter for folks growing with soil based media. Have at it 😊

    Could I use this qith microgreen instead of bottom watering with an addition tray?

    • @BootstrapFarmer
      @BootstrapFarmer  2 роки тому

      You need the 1020 trays to contain the media. The flood tray has too much water volume.

    Can the lights be replaced? I want to use LED bars acquired by my own supplier.

      We include them in the kit, but as long as the size works you can replace with your own preferred brand. We chose our particular light because they easily join together, making the design more cohesive.

    This is a pretty cool system. What is the GPH rating for the water pump?

      I just checked your spec per lumen. The answer is 18KW per bar light.

    Digital timers don't cost much more than these old school timers and if the power goes out you don't have to reset each one.
    C'mon Bootstrap Farmer, you can do much better than that

    • @BootstrapFarmer

      We specifically chose to keep mechanical timers for their durability. Digital timers on my own farm 100% of the time failed. I don't know what to tell ya.

      @@BootstrapFarmer Less room for failure is better. Also I’m not sure what the obsession with making everything digital is.
