I miss this place so much! We need these in the Northwest both in Washington and Oregon. The only ones in the entire Northwest currently are located in Boise and Twin Falls ID! We need more here in the Northwest. Please bring more to the Northwest and we have a lot of new plaza's being built here in Ridgefield WA and IN-N-OUT Burger is building one here, so we need a good steakhouse in the area. The closes decent steakhouse is either Outback in Vancouver WA or Texas Roadhouse in Eugene OR!
There is a jimmy mac's in Renton which is very good and reasonably priced. There is also Jak's a regional chain mostly near Seattle and Snoqualmie casino has a steak house that is very good, both are pretty pricey though and Ridgefield is a 3 hour drive. Try casinos they typically have pretty good steakhouses just be prepared to spend some money.
So here's the thing, Outback used to be MILES better than it is today. They made everything from scratch and had seasonal rotations of the menu. Since they got bought out by Darden, all of their standards went to crap. Everything started coming in plastic bags instead of being scratch made in house. It's just gotten progressively worse over time. Longhorn is definitely the best of the chain steakhouse restaurants out there.
I worked there they have the freshest food ever steaks never frozen produce is always pristine the way they handle everything is superb too. I only left because i found a higher paying job. Really is a solid restaurant.
Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse are both VERY solid contenders for chains. The one time I had Outback, over 10 years ago, the steak was like rubber. My only complaint about the former two is that they could use a lot more seasoning on their steaks and the employees generally have no idea whether they're serving choice or prime cuts. They're choice, if you're wondering.
In my experience, Texas Roadhouse is vastly inferior in atmosphere, service, and food quality compared to Longhorn. Maybe it's just my local resturants but for me Longhorn is the only choice.
@@michaeljdauben Had Longhorn for the second time, and the food is much better, the atmosphere is more, I wouldn't say more formal, but a bit less casual than Texas Roadhouse. As for the food, the Longhorn around me blows Texas Roadhouse out of the water, especially Longhorns mac and cheese lol.
For everyone that have never experienced longhorn, yes, the tenders are that good, they are hand-breaded, a recommendation for the "The longhorn" (the steak he ordered, I ever order that one) you can ask for parmesan crust and they will give you the steak covered in cheese, if you choose fries as one of the sides, you can ask for bacon and cheese on top of it, idk how much you get charged for those additions but, you are not going to regret it, you can ask for A1 sauce and hot sauce (they give you tabasco one) that goes really good with their rice, Arnold Palmer and strawberry lemonade are my favorite drinks (especially strawberry lemonade).
Longhorn has always had the best chicken tenders and honey mustard. Have memories of my pops getting off his shift at night and bringing me some every week
Longhorn used to be one of the premier destinations for my family. My grandfather was a maniac for Longhorn and Ponderosa. Sadly they have both gone VERY downhill.
I've never had a bad experience at any restaurant... except for cheesecake factory, or whatever its called. That was the only time I wanted to leave before the food even got there
Longhorn is a strong contender for the best chain restaurant in the US. Just about the only chain where you can get a consistently good steak, the "Outlaw" ribeye is great. It doesn't quite compete with the top end super expensive chains like a Ruth's Chris in terms of quality sides, but the steak is almost as good and a helluva lot cheaper.
Bro, every time I go to Longhorn I get the chicken tenders. They got a little smaller since the pandemic, cause they had to cut cost. They used to be huge, but still they taste so good. And they got GREAT ranch, also the Wild west shrimp is the best appetizer 👍
If you like the ranch you can ask for some! Idk if it's everywhere but the one I work at let's us give to go containers for condiments, and not the little ones lol
Chicken tenders looking scrumptious. At one of the places near me you can get 4 chicken strips (4 is a good amount) and they are divine. I'm just a sucker for fried chicken and their chips are always good. I'm used to getting 4 tenders/strips so 6 seams amazing.
The quality of your meal at any given restaurant depends on the person in the kitchen that is working that day and how much they care about what they do for a living
Longhorn is legit. I went there this Friday for the first time. The steak was bit chewier than I’d like, but it and everything else was still delicious.
I went there a few weeks ago and let me tell you it was the best thing I have ever eaten. Anyone wondering what I ate well I got the chicken tenders but they were dry but not bad but for $14 for 8 pieces with no side wasn't that much worth it And then got the most expensive one i got was the longhorn special which is a t-porter steak i got it as medium also it costed me about $35 and it also gave me 2 sides so for the sides I got steamed broccoli with garlic and herb spices along with some French fries So in total I've spent about $52.11 Definitely not a bad place but I would probably go here on a rare occasion but for my honest rating I'd say I give it a 8.5 out of 10 And also Dan wasn't joking when he said this shit was the best thing he ever had because I also agree as well here. 😂❤
Where I'm from we don't have a lot of niche fancy restaurants... but we do have a longhorns! So my family and I go there when we are celebrating. I always have a good meal, no complaints.
Yeah I personally just had a pasta dish from outback they overcooked my steak and it had very little meat in it and a lot of noodles the sauce was pretty good
I bought some stock recently. Longhorn is part of Darden Restaurants (DRI ticker), they pay a growing dividend and are undervalued when compared with peers like Texas Roadhouse. They also own Olive Garden and various other grill/steakhouses in the mid-range but are notable for having a couple of high-end brands as well which enable for improvements and higher quality ingredients to trickle down.

It varies pretty heavily location to location. The Longhorn near me has some kind of vendetta against getting a good sear on their steaks. The one 2 hours away amazing.

We portion out a mix of cherry peppers, pimiento peppers and pepperoncini pepeprs and some garlic butter in a bag. It slaps and we can just dump it on top of anything, it's great to mix it with stuff as a kitchen employee who can cook whatever he wants lol
Brother, if you’re reading in a comment, compare the entire dinner that he had at Longhorn to just the appetizers at outback. I need you to rethink your life choices.
That's like saying you can't compete with Applebee's appetizers, everything at outback is prepackaged frozen low quality bullshit except the tuna, which is overpriced and generic.
Longhorn and Outback are my go to when I don’t want to go to an expensive steak house Saltgrass as well, but the strawberry pecan salad and the chicken bites appetizer are my go to every time🔥
The last time that I went to LongHorn, I was eating the "fresh bread" that they offer you only to find mold growing on the side of the loaf. Next, I ordered their chili which to its credit was not bad but they had clearly microwaved it int the plate that they served it to me in. Firstly, if you're going to offer chili as part of your regular (printed) menu, have a warming pot or steam tray for it like they do with soups at the grocery store. The soup or chili is placed in a metal bowl and it sits in a hot water or steam bath around the bowl which keeps it hot until served. Nope, this was the serving plate with all the little spatters of chili on the white plate that were there from microwaving. You know, I can go to the store and get a can of chili and microwave it myself at home for a lot less than you're offering !! The last time I went was the LAST TIME
What is the point of always asking the server what the cheapest and most expensive dishes are on the menu? It’s literally right in front of you printed on the menu. 🤷♂️
The best chicken tenders on the market are at Yard House, during happy hour you can get 6 tenders and fries for $6 in SoCal, which is cheaper than any fast food place around here. They look similar to these ones too they’re super good
