      @@birdboat5647 Hardy har-har. It wouldn't kill some of these dopey drum corps fans to open a book once in a while or to google an occasional quote like "There is only one guarantee, none of us will see heaven." They can Google it on their phone now while they sit in the stands between corps!

    This show is a squeaky clean, feel-good underdog story, until the end when it turns shockingly macabre, out of the blue. Absolutely incompetent design that would never, ever be approved in a professional setting.

      Macabe how? The underdog killing the giant? We knew that was going to happen from the start

    • @jesuspectre9883
      @jesuspectre9883 4 роки тому

      @@zomakaja The word is macabre, not "macabe" (sic). The grizzly violent style of the killing was completely incongruent with the style of the rest of the piece. It would be like Jesus Christ Superstar ending with Jesus getting his side split open, and Herod's entire army shits inside the wound. Just no. No Hollywood producer would ever approve that. (Are people really this inept?)

      @@jesuspectre9883 For me, I could not get over Goliath on stilts. I suddenly thought I went to a cheesy cult classic, juxtaposed with a phenom guard.

      @@1049berkeley This is an interesting point. The Goliath costume was poorly designed because it simply didn't align with any of the established styles that the rest of the costumes established. There was no continuance of the 1950's sci-fi anachronisms. No continuance of the stylized gladiator era which the horns seemed to be presenting. The Goliath character went off on its own design tangent and lacked cohesion. Sure the Goliath costume had some behind the scenes requirements-- it had to be a quick-change stilt costume, but those requirements were no excuse. Its bell bottom black pant legs were strange looking, like out of a Mexican horror movie from the 1970's. Completely nonsensical. Costume aside, the worst aspect of the Goliath character was that when he entered, meh. No one gave a shit. No one screamed, no one reacted. It was just another day at the office. Anyone with any theatrical or film experience knows that half of establishing something frightening and fearsome is the reaction to it. Without the fearful reaction, the audience assumes it's de riguer and perceives the element as status quo. Don't get me started.
