I mean, I must say this, that this is absolutely no doubt, one of the best sampled Orchestral libraries out there! It may be a classic library, but I can use it for whatever orchestral composition/arrangement I've make, as long as I can try my best to make some of the instruments sound realistic as possible.
I never saw this video. I’ve been looking for some sort of tutorial/introduction of SO by EWQL ever since I bought it. I still use it a lot. It has indeed a sound of it’s own. You could call it vintage, perhaps, but it’s amazing how it still stands it’s ground more than 12 years after it was introduced. That’s a huge accomplishment in the world of computer software and virtual instruments. I do use other orchestral and strings suites as well but SO has this beautiful melancholic vibe about it. It’s a little late to discover this introductory video now, but still nice to see and hear the narrator’s love for the program.
Is the EWQL Symphonic Orchestra super light on CPU? If it is, Then i'll use that as my main orchestral VST librarie. If it isn't super light on CPU usage. Then i'll use these EWQL Symphonic Orchestra alternatives, Some are free while some are paid. Iconica Sketch (Orchestral Tools / Steinburg) Nucleus Lite Edition (Audio Imperia) The Free Orchestra 1 (ProjectSAM) The Free Orchestra 2 (ProjectSAM) Tutti Free (Sonokinetic) Orchestral Essentials 1 (ProjectSAM) Orchestral Essentials 2 (ProjectSAM)
This isn't really the most straight forward question. Some of these libraries you've listed are less that 1GB of samples - the most being 22GB. Symphonic Orchestra has 123GB of Samples. A less deeply sampled library that might have just a 'woodwinds long' and a 'woodwinds short' would then be lighter than one that you actually load up more separate instruments/articulations for, but also lacks drastically in the customization of individual parts. Even with that - the CPU usage depends on just how many instruments/articulations you need/want to use, the amount of any additional processes you choose to run on the instruments (Reverbs, EQ, other effects). The engine itself doesn't really use more CPU, but what you choose to load up order to create any full project certainly could (though that applies to any of the listed options also)
@@EWQLTutorials You're correct. An orchestral libraries CPU usage depends on how much instruments you use, Like you said, EWQL Symphonic Orchestra has 123GB of sampled instruments. Which is astounding amount of amazing high quality instruments. So my gameplan is that i'll use some instrument's from Iconica Sketch, The Free Orchestra 1 & The Free Orchestra 2. Then i'll use some instrument's from EWQL Symphonic Orchestra. That way it won't use much CPU usage in my future DAW: Cubase 13 Elements.
@@oibruv3889In reality all you need is a 1500 track orchestral template with multiple layered sample libraries with heavy processing. If you don't have a London orchestra waiting for you in your backyard.
I love Your Sounds and products, but I've seen this I couple of times before. I'm subscribing so when new sounds come out I will see it right away, not these old ones.
Well, these instruments still sound great. Even next to the Hollywood ones. But the new Opus engine is something else. Also works on EWQLSO by the way.
I use it since 2010 and I still don't feel the need to upgrade! :)
do you still use it
Hello yes do you stil use it?
Amazing 😄 I'm just here waiting for my downloads to finish ❤️

Still the best samples in 2019 for the price?

does it come with timpani?
Is this still supported in 2021?
Yes
So, this is pretty much the VST you want if you're trying to make some John Williams style music?
Hollywood strings is better. Although in reality all you need is musescore and a lot of music theory
@@oibruv3889 Are you sure you mean Hollywood Strings or do you mean Hollywood Orchestra?

EastWest, uh how do you find this sound effect 18 Violins Penderecki, it sound so amazing and creepy! How do i find that sound effect?
In the EW Symphonic Orchestra Strings > 18 Violins > 3 Effects, there's the 18V Pendereki articulation to load
I'm still running Cubase 8.5. Do I realy need Cubase 9? Does anybody know?
Yeah! More Airwolf!
Y'know, this one is the most realistic one ngl
do the legatos and sustains have modwheel dynamics?
The patches in the respective ModXFd folders of each instrument.
Right around 22:59 I really get the "Aliens" soundtrack vibe :)
I WANT TO FIND THAT SOUND EFFECT AND PUT IT ON MY MEDIA
I have the East West/Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra, can I use it with which MAC software?
Is this software M1/M2 compatible?
Physical iLock required or just an account?
A digital iLok account works fine too
Ha Ha....... the Airwolf theme. Awesome.

What player is this? It doesn't look like my EW Play 6...
Planning on trying the product. The hollywood series are better right?
EpicZEVEN they should be but check out other vst librarys from other companies as well so you are sure you make the right choice when you buy one
