    I’ve been watching your videos for a few weeks now and have learned so much. You’ve inspired me to get over my fear of resin and give this art form a go! Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations and knowledge with us. On a side-note: this is the first video where I get to see the woman behind the camera. You are so adorable and it’s lovely to have a face to match the voice now. 💕

    I find you very inspiring and I love the introductory to your channel talking about your five kids and how you found something for yourself that made you happy. You’re so upbeat and sweet. What a great mommy and role model. I’m sure it will help your children to have imagination which is not granted to a lot of children these days.Hopefully they’ll follow in mommy’s footsteps and not become self absorbed and inti video games. I bet you’re a fun craft are with them as well. God bless and keep up the good work we enjoy watching you.

    I’m you’re new fan. Thank you so much for all the information. I’ve always wanted to make resin geode paintings but it seemed so out of reach because of the cost and lack of knowledge. I really love you’re videos and they encourage me to try it! Thank you again ♥️

    Use water on your fingers to slick the epoxy sculpt so it doesn't stick to you. It works kind of like clay

    Dam, you're killing me again. I started watching Kathrian before I started watching you. I bought that Apoxie Sculpt and tried with all my might to get those thin perfect lines she does. But they were huge and looked terrible. I threw away two boards because I hated them. You just got the job done as usual. These are beautiful, all of them. I love the nail polish too. However, when I saw you do it without Apoxie Sculpt I was overjoyed. The quick coat was a new challenge but not as much as the Apoxie Sculpt. I managed to get a couple done before I moved to Ohio for the summer. I just got here and I'm trying to find a place to do my artwork in this house. You gave me the itch to do some art. Now all I need is some space to do it. Thank you!

      Ha ha! You are so funny. Yeah, the Apoxie Sculpt was WAY harder than I thought it would be. It definitely doesn't look as great as you are imagining it to be! I like the idea but will probably stick with my glue gun or just skipping borders all together!

    Very kool way to do borders. I think for my taste I would use less paint pen lines. The eye needs those plainer spaces to have contrast. It actually makes the beautiful beads and baubles stand out more, the dark colors then push back. I loved this one. Ooh so many things to try!

      That's a good idea. I kind of go back and forth with too plain and way over the top. Ha ha!

    To use sticker gems, wipe off their adhesive with alcohol, then glue when dry. The adhesive they have won't stick on its own once it gets wet.

    What was the reason for adding the nail polish?

    • @thefrugalresinista
      @thefrugalresinista  4 роки тому

      It adds another dimension to your art because it floats on top of resin. It is just another way to get a 3D effect. Just test your polish first! Some kinds yellow over time!

    I have a question. When u draw ur lines on ur resin geodes, do u always put anotger layer of resin? Ie so the lines don't rub off...??

  • @Kann18ify

    Is this on canvas? I tried my first small canvas after watching another video of yours. My canvas wasnt perfectly taut, so my resin looks like blobs and not lines. Is this why you use borders?

    • @thefrugalresinista
      @thefrugalresinista  5 років тому

      It is. I actually don't typically use borders. Those were just for fun for the challenge. What I do is use a few 6 x 6 inch tiles that I got at a hardware store and stack them underneath so that the canvas will stay flat but not sag while the resin dries. I think my tiles were less than $1 each.

    Your creation is mesmerizing! 😍 I was just wondering, did you still pour resin after putting on those nail polish glitters?

    • @thefrugalresinista
      @thefrugalresinista  5 років тому

      Thank you! I didn't but you definitely could. I would probably have done it just to give a smooth finish if I was doing a border around the edges instead of letting the resin pour over. It's a lot of clear to waste. But I would still pour a clear layer if I end up with a buyer.
