Your format and teaching style is fantastic mate. Perfect amount of detail and conveyed really well. That's a skill on its own. Having a single series to work through for beginner stuff without jumping from random video to video is a godsend. Good stuff. I'm up to #6 so far, keep 'em rolling!
Hello there, just wanted to say thank you for putting these out. I am just getting started with Ableton Live. Watching your beginner series really helped make the whole process less intimidating to get going with music. Please continue to make more of these. I really like your explanation approach!
Finally someone who explains calmly, efficiently, clearly... And you don't show off. Really good, thank you! ------ Terminology wasn't always explained, but MIDI stands for "Musical Instrument Digital Interface", and, CC stands for "Continuous Controller" ;)
I don't even have one of these and still watch your videos I even watch your music theory videos and apply it to my guitar instead because I've found no one that explains these things as well as you. You're doing a great job for the community so thank you
You are one of my most important Ableton "teachers", meaning I prob. learnt more about Ableton from you, than from any other single person. Thank You Thaetro!
You cannot imagine how useful this video (and the whole series) was!!! Before it, it was impossible for people (like me) analogic to a 100%. You made it possible what I’d been considered out of my understanding. Thanks a lot!!!
This series is helping me loads! You are basically my online teacher helping me with Ableton Live, the Akai MPK Mini MK3, and music production in general. It's all very complicated if you don't know where to start, but your videos are the best start I can imagine! Thank you so much!
Literally these videos have been a life saver!! I haven't been able to map my MIDI and have been just doing it manually and now it makes so much more sense. Thank you!
Best beginners video by far. Most I've come across start with crazy presets which I don't know how to mimic. This was great for opening Ableton in default. I learned a ton. Thank you so much!
Ive been messing around with ableton for a couple years but these tutorials you made are refreshing and useful. I really wish I had these when I started out !
I’ve been following along these videos for a few weeks and was able to jump into Ableton so easily right off the bat. You’ve made something so daunting seem so simple I really appreciate that!
Man I just got the Mk3 white with black keys. I'm absolutely loving it! I just learned about the midi mapping before this video got uploaded. I use ableton as well and your videos have been really helpful for me recently. Thank you so much for the amazing content!
I hope ypu talk about fixing the latency by turning down your bit sample size! In the past midi controller vids I don't think I've heard you mention it. Love you taetro. You've brought me so far within the last year man.
Thanks Taetro! I feel really fortunate after struggling with Live for a few months that I found your channel. Your Ableton series is clear, thorough, and well-paced. With each topic so far I've found myself going on long tagents, often to the point of completing projects which were in limbo until I understood the tools to realize that particular vision. I've also enjoyed a few of your product reviews. Right now I'm mapping my Arturia Minilab MKII, and thinking about a UHOST to go BLE. You do great work, so thanks again!
I've been learning how to compose and produce my own songs within Ableton and your videos have been very helpful. It's made music making less stressful and more fun. As it should be.
TAETRO you are a excellent teacher man I appeciate how you take time to make sure that the things you are teaching are commpletly understood thanks great work.
Starting out with this gear is a bit like falling into the middle of the ocean. Thanks Taetro for providing hope, and direction. I can't see the shore yet but I'm not drowning anymore.
Your videos are helping me to finally start producing and record the music I have always liked! Your teaching format has kept me in this series, hope you keep making similar videos!
Dude!!!!! Thank you so much for this! I have an M Audio Oxygen Pro midi, and I've been struggling to figure out all these controls. So thank you so much for explaining all of this! It's making a huge difference
Dude this is so helpful. Your videos have made me improve in ableton so quickly vs trying to figure it out on my own. Thank you for making this playlist of vids to figure this complex program out
19:00 If you selected remote and your midi mappings still weren't working, see if your device has a 'DAW' input/output and add that in addition to the regular midi input/output.
this was genuinely the most helpful video i could find thank you so much! i could not for the life of me figure out why the knobs weren't knobing Thanks!!!
Just so happened to be looking for one thing and this man saved my life in multiple ways😭✨kinda gave me recording inspiration with the lil examples you used as well💚🔥
Have been watching your videos and they’ve been helping out a ton so thank you. I just got my Novation Launchkey mk3 yesterday so I’m literally binging your videos on it to get it up and running lol thanks bruh
great video, super helpful, I have a different midi controller than the ones mentioned but it was still exactly what I wanted to learn and havent been able to find until now, enjoying and learning a lot from the whole series, please keep going
Thanks for producing very useful and beginner-friendly videos.. ~ as an 'old-school' SY85 / CoolEdit type chap I've found Ableton / Launchkey 49 a maze of confusion when all I want to do is switch on and make music.. !
A bit late aboput the mpk set up for ableton, but the comunity helped me. All your videos had helped me otherwise i wouldnt had jump on music. Even if im not present like before cause life stuff but thanks for your series. Some of this makes me think I should had got a novation or something similar instead of my mpk XD
Thank you so much for this series, you have a natural talent for teaching/explaining. Keep up the awesome work. I saw in another comment that you're working on the next video in the series. Do you have a rough estimate on how many vids are there gonna be in total for the series? Thanks!
This was needed for 2022!!! I just started back learning AL your videos definitely help!!! I did my first remake last week and original yesterday!!! Today I’m going to work on setting up for live up performances!!! Thanks 🙏🏾
Hope you make videos about Push 2.. you are the best teacher I have ever listened about Ableton live...Thanks a lot for sharing all these knowledge that you gathered by your experience... means a lot...
Do you have a video for Arturia MiniLab 3? Have no problem with ML3 but first time experience with Ableton Live and it seems totally confusing to me as a DAW. Thank u for your wonderful channel.
In the time I have invested in studying AL11, I could have written, recorded and mastered a dozen songs in GB. First and second impressions are that AL is needlessly convoluted. I am invested though, and am really hopeful the investment pays off.
love the way you play the keys and the effects you have on them. how did you learn how to play? where can i find the tutorials please? i want to play like you
Hi , as always this is a real pleasure to learn throught your complet and clear explained video ty so much about that :) I ll continue to follow , learn and re watch your explain on your channel i wish you all the best and a great week (beg my pardon for my english am frog guy sooo 🤷🤦 hihihi) Enjoy art and creation , take care 🙏
So good. I’m so new and your videos are the best. When I follow this, the sound only comes out the pads and not keys, anyone know why this is, probably need to back track tutorials. 😅
Thank you so much for your great videos and those huge amount of helpful wisdom. I'm having some trouble with the pad CC to the record buttons. The pads are acting like a gate instead of a toggle, so I have to hold it down for the record buttons to stay active, which totally defeats the purpose of having a separate CC mode. The mapping will work fine but holding down the pad to record is not really helpful :( In the Akai Editor i can't find any settings where i can change this. Hopefully someone could help.
I have an Arturia Keylab Essential 88. I can get the keys to work just fine in Ableton. The knobs sort of work but they are extremely wonky. I have to turn the knobs counter-clockwise to increase values, and when I turn the knobs clockwise, the value jumps straight to zero (even with the slightest turn of the knob). Also, the DAW command center doesn't work for navigating Ableton at all, and some of the buttons just give me more key tones. I'm pretty sure I've tried every combination of Ableton's preferences, but the above description seems to be the best I can get. Just played with it some more and now I can get the command center to work fine (can navigate the tracks and clips), and the knobs are working smoothly but are only linked to the panning of each track. And now my keys aren't working and I'm not getting the orange light for MIDI input anymore. No matter what I can't seem to get everything to work at the same time. Please send help lol. BTW I'm new to both MIDI controllers and Ableton.

Excellent video for a n00b like me switching to Ableton after getting fed up with LogicPro

great to hear. Good work my friend.
Keep up the good work! Learning a lot from you here. P.s. As a cat parent, I want to salute you on how clean your MIDI is... that was relaxing to see.
Just got a Midi controller and this video helped me out setting it up. Thank you!

Depends on which software you are used to, for me, it was the exact opposite
@HRTDEMON666 lol almost like ableton is needlessly complicated. Thanks for condescending though.
@@marcbehm4747Almost like everybody has their own experiences and there's no need to be an ass about it 😱
i like the little remark about stickers
hi there, yes Id love to see your Push 2 video - thanks for your amazing content
