Not only is the game fun and good, but the developers actually listen and talk to the fans. The CEO even responded to a tweet on how someone wanted the game but can't afford it and said not to buy it yet because he didn't want them to play the game when it was unplayable
Definitely great to see this
It looks like this CEO touches grass. Unlike the AAAA CEO.
That is not quite true as there are about 15 Thousand players thatare haveing an issue where the game wont even launch on pc (completly Separate from server issues. this is a game code issue(its to do with winLicence) and they have been ingnoring the players we have been asking since the launch on the 8th for this to be fix but yet the stroe is being updated everyday (guess haveing a broken game isant a big issue but makeing money is)
I know im going to get hate for this but for the love of god we need to stop praseing game studios for Releasing a buggy broken mess of a game that players cant even play and yet still keep selling the game and makeing Millions but yet wanting a game studio to give us a finished Product that works
Why is it now a days yoy need to have a Degree in computer science and coding just to get a game to work necause the devs cant get it together and fix this buggy mess
There reeally need to shut the game down and fix it then bring it back its not thay hard because the longer this goes on the more hate the team will get untill the fix the major issues
@@blazegamer9896 spotted the cod player folks
It is great to see this this is something you usually don’t see
@@blazegamer9896 They need to shut a multi-platform game down because SOME PC players can't play? Lol no.
It seems to me that their number one priority is the server capacity, not some bad PC optimization, especially given that the game is a port. Also I got the game on PC and it runs fine, I assume the problem is optimizing a game to run well on all the million different ways PCs operate.
And it feels like you need a degree in computer science to run this game because that is the risk you take for having a PC. I've been a PC player since the age of 7 and sometimes my PC will not work on games that are praised for being polished and it will run fine for messed up games, gotta troubleshoot problems to make anything work on PC. This is the deal we got with PC, if you don't like it get a console which is guaranteed to work.
Helldivers is just somehow the Warhammer 40k guardsman Simulator everyone was waiting for.
Wasn't starship troopers inspired by Warhammer?
@@Based_Gigachad_001Starship Troopers came first, it was a novel.
More like Halo ODST everyone were BEGGING for, even 343i Devs realized this.
@@revanlord05I mean Scions and Kasrkin do pretty much the same thing as ODSTs. And the enemies in Helldivers are closer to Warhammer. It’s safe to say the game took inspiration from a bunch of properties though
The devs are fans of 40k
I think we are in good hands lol
I love the CEO on twitter too 😂 People were mad at him for not pushing the engineers to work faster and his reply was, "Would you rather i sit behind the engineers asking, 'Is it done yet?' over and over or let the engineers do their job correctly and without pressure?"'. Also the CEO went on to say he believes you must earn the right to monetize your game. This dude is a real one 😅
Yeah, he's the best:) Seems like a really smart guy and clearly knows what the majority of gamers want to hear.
Fun fact, helldivers 2 uses the same game engine as the first helldivers.
That’s crazy asf
That's pretty crazy.
iirc it's also the same engine that was used for Vermintide, so it's pretty much tailor-made for 4-player coop stuff
and the engine dev already discontinue the support
The had the servers picked at 450k and people couldn't get on. Now it's 700k. It's not even slightly broken on ps5 anymore
And arrowhead implemented a update where divers afk for 15 mins will be kicked to free up player space, best decision they made
It is broken it deleted a total of 2800 super credits of mine and i am not the only one… has to be a new bug with the last patch i am on ps5 aswell
On ps5 for the past few days ive been getting app error every fourth game consistently and when playing in squad every third game we get disconnected from each other... :/
@wendel9735 yeh, that's gotta get fixed asap. I fortunately was able to secure a refund via psn support.
There are still issues that need fixing but it’s wayyyy better. I’ve been able to unlock a solid amount of gear, strategems and armor. I’m having a blast
This game is literally the definition of what peak online gaming was back in the late 2000s and early 2010s like Halo & Left 4 Dead

Dry year????
I love how almost every recent video on HellDivers 2 has mentioned "Malevelon Creek" Its so great. Because that Planet, really is that scary. "Robot Nam" Absolute chaos fun
I randomly joined a squad and we played tons of missions for hours like we've played together for years. Communicated, everyone did their job, completed all parts of the missions. Most fun I've had in years on a game. The game is a masterpiece, truly. The popularity shows just how hungry people are for just a good. fun. game. I can play this game for 5 hours and literally never get bored, I just keep saying "One more mission."
Ppl actually solo in Helldive. This is where the diehard Metal Gear/Splitner Cell fans are at.
I've seen some really cool vids showing that stealth is a legitimate option if that's your thing. Feels like they put a lot of thought into the game.
Stealth really was your only option for solo in the first helldiver game since every patrol just spawned too many high level enemies but hey if you dont want a bile titan and 10 bile spewers to spawn or 2 brutes and a tank then stealth is your best option😅😅😅
Amen brother. I play stealth when I play solo
@@roninswiftball trailblazer armor is amazing that 30% farther that they can detect you is very noticeable
@@jardobman, I saw a video of two guys prone with a patrol going by withing throwing distance. Toss an airstrike, strike commence and a hail of MG fire to clean up what's left. No call for backup or chance to retaliate.
I’d rather play a broken masterpiece than a perfect disaster.

@nomercyinc6783 obviously not a real quote from sun tzu
And I'd say he knows a little bit more about gaming than you do pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the game of honor
I haven't played a game this much in a long time. It's so addicting. Been on it for about 6 hours today for democracy
Same this game has hooked me like no game in years.
If you only play live service games, sure
Fun fact, the engine used to make this game was developed by Fatshark who made Warhammer Vermintide and Darktide.
Also the “server cap” was increased, not implemented after launch.

This game reminds me so much of Starship Troopers 😎🔥🔥
Idk why but this pisses me off. I have nothing against you, your comment, or Optimus. I think It’s just that this comment is getting put on a pedestal with its own little ‘comments from members’ section?
@@zarreyexhe helps the channel out so he gets extra perks its no big deal
You haven't played the original Helldivers I presume. Cup of liberty been there since that game but no one talked about it. It's on steam as well. Equally hard and challenging and fun. That old game took direct inspiration and comedy from Starship troopers. LITERALLY. Same this here but with better QoL.
Because it is. It's on ps3, ps4, ps5, vita, and steam. HD1 was there since end of ps3. Steam HD1 came a year later.
Im glad people get to notice this game. I think its because it's 3rd and 1st person shooting that give it a little popularity.
I still play HD1 to this day. It's still an active community.
@@tr1besexactly why people are talking about HD2. Hardly anyone wants to play a top down shooter.
Not even 3 months in of 2024 and we already have 2 pretty good GOTY contenders imo
2?
I think he might mean Palworld, that's the only other really popular game I can think of that's made a few waves
Palworld is decent
@sukablyat5764 Meh, Palworld is decent but doesn't have much to do yet. If they can keep updating the game and put Palworld in a better state, it can definitely be a GOTY contender. For now, though, Helldivers 2 easily clears everything that's been released this year, and considering that this is a drought year, I doubt anything is gonna come out that beats it.
@@GumpierGoat2 Helldivers 2 has less content than Palworld. Now if we were talkin helldivers 1, MAYBE. But you guys didn't give your unwavering support to them. Nor did I hear you guys screeching support for DRG, but hey, sure thing.
HD2 is the first game in years that made me WANT to play with randoms in PvE.
If you exclusively play live service games, sure.
@@firstnamelastname956 Name a game. I've likely played it, so I'm curious.
13 years ago my coop friend always say that Lost Planet 2 is way way way ahead of its time and now here we are
This feels like lp2
What a legend. What a legendary Game
Ya ive seen a lot of people claim.its just starship troopers but ive said it feels like Starship Troopers and Lost Planet 2 had a baby
That is a very good comparison honestly, people weren’t ready for Lost Planet 2 at the time
You have big eyes small face, I like. What’s your WeChat?
What I think contributed a lot to the game's success was its background lore. Although it could have seemed cheesy, its humour and culture of the Helldivers (and other factions) just hits right. It is something you get slightly over the more you play, but it's the initial hook. Also the first drop-pod sequence was a chef's kiss imo.
The cinematic intro to the game that is played when you boot up the game is also fricking great:) And funny. Really hooks a person. To sign up to become an helldiver and die for democracy, liberty and super earth.. Proper propaganda.
One thing people aren't talking about much is the PC optimization. I'm playing on a mid-tier rig I built in 2017, and Helldivers 2 is running at around 50-60 fps without going to low settings.
Honestly there is always a few games that beat the other modern games, helldivers 2 beats Modern Warfare 3
yes, but unlike modern warfare. Many refuse to play helldivers 2 due to the anti cheat, but I and most players that experienced modern warfare 2 back in 2010 won't touch that brand due to the absolute lack of working anti cheat.
AAA devs are getting lazy and Indie Devs are catching up, and I couldn't be happier
Look at Lethal Company destroying Call of Dukey: Fraudulent Scam III in sales.
Look at it
I mean when you compare this game to a $hit game like COD, sure, this game looks like the holy grail but in all honestly, it’s not THAT great.
First Helldivers is basically the same game, but it's twin-stick top-down shooter. It has a ton more content steadily added over time.
From what I read Helldivers 2 will take the same route: new enemy faction(s), mechs, weapons, stratagems, events, missions e.t.c.
Concept of ongoing galactic war is perfect for life service game.
Also good monetization model: reasonable prices, ability to get currency casually playing, no FOMO, timed daily checkboxes.
FOR THE SUPEREARTH
This game was so good that it became unplayable. Great community. Great gameplay. working on matchmaking but this game deserves game of the year
Goty is way over the top lol
@kitten-whisperer No, it isn't.
@@colclark87 it objectively is. There is no way this game will win goty. Zero chance.
@@kitten-whispererhow
@jpegimage7653 I'm not going to write a thesis but it's not goty material. Is it objectively fun? Yeah. No argument there but it's February for one and secondly it's just a shooter. It will not win. I'd bet my sons actually life on it.
Arrowhead deserves all the praise. They stayed in their 4 player co-op bag for nearly two decades and have refined their gameplay loop to a T. A small team that took their time. AAA developers simply cant afford to develop games in that way.
I was considering buying it but after this video I'm full convinced. There goes another 43.29$ 😅
Literally all we wanted was some kind of Halo ODST team drop game where you could drop into a flood infested city/compound to extract intel or secure it, or a Warhammer40k Krieg Guardsman simulator fending against hordes of orks or a civil war
Man, The more I watch this gameplay, the more I want to play it.
On one hand; “Come forth and die in blood and fire! Filth!”
On the other hand; “COME ON YOU APES! YOU WANNA LIVE FOREVER!?!”
It feels good knowing i was a helldivers 1 fan and pre ordered this. OG level lol
I forgot it was coming out 😭😭 otherwise I would have too. I'm not behind or anything though so all's well I suppose. Exceptional game already
Other studios will attempt to do this style of a game and will fail miserably. This is a masterpiece
I wouldn’t say “masterpiece” but it’s decent
Glad to see they're hiring temps especially with all the lay-offs in the industry the last 2+ years. This game had brought alot of my friends together and have had minimal issues other than the first weekend. Had a 20ish mins wait in queue. I've been playing on PS5 and pretty sure it's running smoother on there. Wicked excited for when they incorporate the enemies from the first one and you get to use mech suits.
And the Super Credits you can find pretty abundantly in the world's or with medals. Unless you have FOMO and not enough time to play but I have been able to buy almost everything I wanted in the super store and know soon they'll come back so not too worried.
Helldivers 2 is a game that I heard absolutely nothing about until maybe a week ago where people in my class were talking about it. It looks like the love child of Starship Troopers and Halo 3: ODST. This looks like something I wouldn't stop playing.

Helldivers 2 and Starfield, I believe, are heavily inspired (illegitimate) children of the Mass Effect trilogy. However, both functioned in their differing ways and were met with varying waves of acclaim and disinterest.
Starfield promised expansiveness, Helldivers delivered on a good time.
Starfield promised immersiveness, Helldivers delivered on coming home after a long day of work or school and coming on to fight an intergalactic war against bugs, aliens and cybernetic humans.

A week ago i didn't even know what helldivers was. Now i'm an avid fan and it's my #1 game to play right now. They don't make em this good often. This thing brings me back to early 2010's gaming when games were a blast to play.
also, it doesn't play nice with AMD GPU drivers but despite the difficulties it was worth every second of 5 hours worth of troubleshooting.
ohhh and also Helldivers team has what i call "good problems". Having server capacity issues is literally the definition of things being wildly popular and good. It's not an issue a failing game would have, so great problem and good reason to expand assets and the team.
these last few months have been great for gamers. lethal company, palworld, helldivers 2, balders gate 3. indie studios all the way
I love when people who have no idea about something you’ve known about for ever. Talk about it like it’s there first time discovering a new game
I guess
one issue I'm having is not being able to unlock higher difficulties. The only way I can play them atm is partying with someone who already has them unlocked. It sucks because I kind of have to wait for my friends to get on or else I'm stuck doing Trivial and Easy missions which aren't as fun as the higher level difficulties.
Aside from that, I've been loving the game and I can't wait for more!
The trick is to focus down the Operations.
When you go to select missions you first select the operation.
On higher difficulties a single operation can have 2-3 missions in an area.
To advance in difficulty you need to complete all missions in an operation. If you only do one or two but don't do the other one and skip to a new AO, you won't unlock the next level difficulty. Make sure you focus down all missions in an operation in a single session to unlock the next tier.
Also, make sure you're the one hosting for your friends. Even if they grumble it's a surefire way to make sure you're getting the difficulty settings unlocked.
@@graveyardshift6691 Yeah I know how to unlock them, unfortunately my game is bugged and it simply doesn't unlock the higher difficulties. The devs acknowledged this is an issue, so I have to wait for them fix it
I do appreciate the help though!

Spreading managed Democracy throughout the galaxy!
I think the game needs a balance patch fast to keep the community together and not toxic. The “meta chaser” vs “off meta” is already clearly dividing people. Weapons like the breaker and Railgun are so far ahead of every other weapon in the game and there really should be some buffs to other weapons. I’ve already gotten flamed in group lobbies for not using the Breaker (bc I find it boring).
The best example of what this game could become is Deep Rock Galactic. No defined meta, all weapons and abilities are 100 percent viable on the end game difficulty. Deep rock has maintained the best coop shooter community of any game I’ve ever played and I hope this game follows Ghost Ship’s lead.
"Meta" really only exists in difficulty 6 and above, where the game is just brutal.
@@SnailSnail-lo4pm well… that’s a big part of the game. And it needs balancing

They said something along the lines of “gaming is supposed to be an escape from reality, and adding that stuff in defeats the point of that”

You’re killing terminds because their corpse spills oil (sounds familiar to a certain american stereotype?) and cyborgs are labeled as commies. You can have your opinion if you want lgbt stuff or not, but it is ultimately up to the devs. I’m just saying that their political views aren’t against lgbt like you’d hope.
@@virtuoso5265 True, but helldivers does it in a way that doesn’t bring down the gameplay just to pander to certain groups or ideologies. Thats what i like about it. Im fully aware that a lot of games even the older ones have political things in them. I feel bad for people who have not looked into whats to be added. They will be adding 2 new factions eventually and new strikes possibly including a mech. This game is far beyond insane
When you are up in the ship looking down at the planet those other ships are players ships. those battles down below that you see on the planet are actual battles happening that you can see.
The factions are gonna have events to where you have to defend liberated planets, earth will and can eventually be invaded. We will have to push to the mother planets of the enemies.
Ive played most games to date and this is by far insane i give it 100/10 stars man.
The fact that Cyberstan "cyborg home world from the first game" is in here. I can already tell how crazy it is about to get. Don't think I didn't notice the bots making there way over to it! "2 system up from where they are now"
2 new factions? I know the illuminates but where did they talk about a 2nd?
they could maybe even squeeze in a 5th on the map depending on how the enemy factions expand but that might be stretching it a tiny bit
Ay you gotta go to malevenon creek, we need reinforcements
For the stuck in the drop pod loading screen bug a fix I’ve found is to exit the game, verify the files, completely close steam, reopen it and start the game. Happened to me yesterday and worked like a charm.
HD1 is a twin stick shooter. I wish everyone get a chance to play that. It's still an active community there.
If you can play this game, HD1 is not that different except top down Contra.
helldivers 2 is one of my personal goty contenders (i'd count palworld but won't since it's in EA). i kept seeing ads on tiktok and they got a little annoying to me but i went ahead to see what the fuss was about and now i'm having a blast with it, especially since the servers have gotten improved quicker than i expected cause i had to keep bypassing the server capacity screen. this game was just a surprise with little to no issues now
Not sure if I heard you bring it up but you can toggle First Person or Third Person shooting by pressing the mouse wheel and R3 on Controller. I notice the aim snap thing is not much of an issue in First person and you can somewhat snap snap.
Honestly, this is what a live service game should be. This is now the new gold standard for them
You said it better than I could. Its the immersion games have been missing as of late. They fail to truly put the gamer in their mind when they make their games nowadays.

The fact the game is as goofy as the way most players act with their friends when playing co-op is a huge reason for why it's so much fun.

Arrowhead has made coop games for over a decade and it shows in Helldivers 2, they've really nailed every aspect of the coop pve shooter subgenre. Gameplay feels great, their gfx engine is the same one as in the 1st game but modified/developed into greatness over the last few years.
It's just so good because no one has really done a purely pve MMO . It's a purely unique title
I mean I had wanted it to do well actually personally and I'm glad that it's got somewhat positive feedback at least now.
I didnt hear about the temporary hire plan before. I know they had said something about hiring more people (obviously) but thats brilliant to openly say "yeah, we need more devs now to make the game function, then we'll let them go." Its way more sustainable to hire freelance devs for a contract to stabalize the game than it is to go on a massive hiring spree to show off thay theyre making money. Bravo Arrowhead
The title is perfect, I told my online buddies that it is annoying when it crashes or when you can't get in. BUT when it works it is a fantastic game.
One thing I wish is a separate campaign. To play start to finish with friends.
This has been an insane 2 months, an incredibly strong start to the year for the gaming industry
And Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth isn't even out yet, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Persona 3 Reload are what are taking up my time right now
Kind of sad I'm playing 2 remakes instead of a newer IP
Both of those games are absolute bangers tho
Key board and mouse players, rebind "Dive" Double tap spacebar, rebind "prone" Hold C crouch. your welcome

Soloing anything higher than difficulty 5 bot missions is an actual challenge. I was able to solo a full difficulty 6 bot mission set, but I won't try that ever again. If I want to play anything higher than difficulty 5, I'll definitely be doing it with a group from now on.
one thing i think is worth noting is that super credits (in game currency) is pretty common, i had already bought a 20$ pack but i was surprised when i just kept coming across super credits in missions, regardless i think this game is worth supporting so that alone i think is worth buying super credits, but its respectable that its possible to build up super credits without having to buy them.
Great quality video!
Massive tip for hostage extraction (three people play away from ob and one with light armour opens all the doors) it’s easy even on the harder difficulties! Thank me later ❤
new game releases have been going in a very positive direction lately, if we keep praising games like bg3, lethal company, palworld and helldivers while punishing games like suicide squad, starfield and modern cod it could send message that were tiered of their bs and will have to change their strategies if they want their games to sell. 2023 felt like a massive leap in quality from covid and this year i think will be even more interesting.
Optimus, if you want another good 4 player coop game that’s great with complete strangers, you have to try Deep Rock Galactic if you haven’t already. It’s also an FPS, your favorite genre. It’s one of the Co-op GOATS!
The thing about DRG is that it gets repetitive, especially since the objectives can get stale very fast once you become familiar with them. That was the case with me, I played DRG but got to the point that it became repetitive with the objectives

Helldivers has done something along of games struggle to do. Create unity amongst the community. Now I know there's some argument between the bug killers and the oil spillers. But when the luminates drop. I think we're gon a get an enemy that will bring us to one common goal
The difficulty between trivial and easy mode is HUGE in this game.
