I loved every minute that English King got what he deserved to. Looking at Ivar, staring at him with satisfaction and smiling, you can tell he is kind of sadistic 😂
Communal beds were a thing in Norse culture. Four or more people sleeping in the same bed was common in the colder months. It was to stay warm and share body heat. It's still very common with the Inuits and those living in Siberia.
Well that was rude..... I don't think my perception of that moment "ruined" the reaction in the slightest... and the fact that you think it did... shows that you are the type of person who can't stand people that have different opinions that you, therefore you are narrow-minded and petty. ~ Lacey
Stevie, your reaction when you saw the whole army of vikings was priceless! :-O Have you noticed that when they charged towards Aelle especially Bjorn shouted "RAGNAAR!" - of course many others as well :) great reaction as always, but also an awesome episode! I thought it was great that they skipped the "battle" - guess the vikings just ran them over, easy peasy as Negan would say ^^ the next episode is even better, Vikings is truly one of the best series imo
Harald Iversen looking at your last name, I have to wonder if you are also related to The Boneless? But if not, whilst I now love your ancestor, Harald Fine Hair, it has to be said that SO many of the great Icelandic Sagas follow the stories of families fleeing across the sea from Harald. Just saying LOL!
If you look at this objectively, King Aella is not the bad guy here. The Vikings raided his land, killed and raped his people, and he did swear revenge on Ragnar and the vikings. To think of it in contemporary terms, imagine after 9/11, we got our hands on Bin Laden gave him a brutal death for revenge and then in return, other terrorists came to the US and sought a brutal revenge on the president. I know it's not apples to apples, but really, the vikings were the aggressive instigators from the beginning. That said, King Aella was a fucker. lol glad he is gone.
I found it interesting, the symbology of the owl with Lagertha, the owl is the guide guide to the underworld, to see in actual and spiritual darkness, to look through the darkness within and find a way through. The sons of Ragnar just gave Ælle a Red Bull. "It gives you wings" (Well, that's what they said until someone sued them because it didn't literally give you wings)
S+L: again, not too much to say. They did a great job on this show. The Great Heathen Army was indeed massive, and was motivated by revenge for Ragnar’s death. Being thrown into a snake pit was no fit death for a king, and all of Scandinavia wanted to punish England for the insult. And they did for over a decade. Aella’s death is only the start! And, as others have said, this is pretty much where legend becomes actual history. Vikings has reached the point where we actually know what happens. But don’t worry! The sons of Ragnar each have their own great deeds coming up. Björn and Ubba are personal faves!
I just finished all 4 seasons of The Last Kingdom, and you get a great battle scene in most episodes. Plus, it is a bit closer to actual history of The Great Heathen Army taking over Britain, and King Alfred fighting back as best he can/could/did. Sadly, The Last Kingdom is very prone to copyright strikes. I know of only 1 reactor who manages to to upload their reaction to UA-cam successfully. Patreon is the only way to go if Duo Reacts chooses to react to this show.
Hi Steve & Lacy. I agree with several others commenters that “ The Last Kingdom” is the perfect show to follow up with. Vikings is visual spectacle and great loose historical perspective on the Vikings side. However The Last Kingdom has absolutely beautiful Story Telling, writing, and perspective from the Saxon and England conflicts. If you loved Vikings, Trust me you will love The Last Kingdom! 👍
Why does aella deserve it tho? He actually dosent deserve any of this., ppl just think he deserve it cause they dont like him. Ragnar led the army and attackd, raped, enslaved and stoled from his lands and his knigdoms. He didnt do anything to them. He had all the reason to do whatever he did to raganar. Also the vikings destroy everything that is whatever they think is false gods. Just answer me one thing, whats the difference between these vikings and IS? Baiscally the religion, the rest is more of the same.
Your right... he likely didn't ACTUALLY deserve it... but I just didn't like him.. he was too cocky and over confident, and not taking the threat seriously... plus he went overboard in his torture of Ragnar... therefore I wanted to see him suffer LOL
You’re not wrong, Hypello. The raids were just as, if not more, brutal as anything IS gets up to. But those we call The Vikings were also great explorers, traders, and way ahead of other European countries in statecraft. Hell, they were way ahead just in personal grooming. LOL! But, really, it comes down to this: they have the best stories with the best characters during this time.
sex was not a big deal to the vikings sometimes sex is just sex in the case of Ragnar and asslag. lagertha feared she could not have children and ragnar was to have more sons so she felt she was being replaced thats the main reason she was pissed off
My first girlfriend was an exchange student from Birmingham. We used to make each other dishes that did not exist in America/England. Emotionally, biscuits and gravy is pretty much our beans on toast: simple, hearty, bland fare dumped on toasted bread product. It’s nothing to write home about ... it IS home.
Floki rolling up like a straight-up savage is so much fun to watch.
Gaaawwd! One of my favorite parts!
I loved that scene!
I loved every minute that English King got what he deserved to. Looking at Ivar, staring at him with satisfaction and smiling, you can tell he is kind of sadistic 😂
“I been told your God is a carpenter, and guess what? So am I.”
"I will make something truly astonishing." >:)
I still get chills when the Great Heathen Army shows up and Bjorn leads them across the field shouting *”RAGNAR!!”* ❤️

I think Egbert was more ashamed and shocked that when called and asked the question, he didn't have an answer... He didn't love his son.
That's what i thought too.
or he's using it.. to get him to fight back even harder.
Yes. Please, think a bit fucking deeper. It was really stong and deep moment and you ruined it by your perfunctory reaction.
Well that was rude..... I don't think my perception of that moment "ruined" the reaction in the slightest... and the fact that you think it did... shows that you are the type of person who can't stand people that have different opinions that you, therefore you are narrow-minded and petty. ~ Lacey
@@DuoReacts It was rather rude to call him a pussy too lol.
This was also apparently how king aella died in real life by bloodeagle by ragnars sons
How the little piggies will grunt
When they hear how the old boar suffered 😈
Blood Eagle was only mentioned in history a couple of times. I was generally reserved for treason and kings.
They didn't show the battle itself,'coz they wanted us to witness Aella get his bloodeagle.
The trip from Norway to England by longboat only took 3-7 days.

they were chit chatting through the whole battle.
Yeah
King Harald is the greatest additional to this show
Me too! Could not stand him and his brother at first, but seeing how happy they were in the battle here, they won me over! Love them.
I love him even more in real life because im related to the real Harald and I even got the same name as him
Harald Iversen looking at your last name, I have to wonder if you are also related to The Boneless? Right. LoL they are the bad guys. So easily forgotten in this show though!
Taking a bishop into battle with his army, what use is a Bishop in battle - apart from moving diagonally - its not like they are fighters
What use is a Bishop in battle? Just you wait, laddie!
The one guy doing the ritual was Josh Donaldson! Hes in the MLB he was on my blue Jay's when he filmed this !!
This was my favorite episode in the whole show! I couldn't wait for your reaction..

One thing to bear in mind, king ecbert was well into his 60's by this point in time, wich for then was a pretty advanced age
Cool fact about this episode, the guy who spoke to the sacrifice was Josh Donaldson the 2015 AL MVP in the MLB
I would suggest the first season of The Last Kingdom. If I remember you will get the battle scenes you are looking for.

Skollll! Good ep 🙃😁 good reaction as always
I dont know if that is exactly how Alle dies in real life BUT Ragnars son did kill Alle for revenge in real life and im sure it was just as brutal.
Yes, they did him the Blood Eagle
Hey guys just wondering what's up with telltale's The Walking Dead? Are you guys still going to play it?
you guys remember ragnar did this to jhal borg its called the blood eagle
except this last guy screamed..lol.. but then again he's not a Viking.
Lol they did not bring an army they brought an entire nation....
I don’t think we even have biscuits and gravy in Europe nowadays hahah
Imagine some poor sob walking through the woods to the next town and walking across him strung up like that
23:42 i looooove the blood eagle *howl*
im happy they didnt show the battle. a battle like that just seems pointless to watch and took away time for the blood eagle
sex was not a big deal to the vikings sometimes sex is just sex in the case of Ragnar and asslag. lagertha feared she could not have children and ragnar was to have more sons so she felt she was being replaced thats the main reason she was pissed off
Great episode!!

Love the Buddy Holly ref Steve
Music tip for steve: Channel zero - Black fuel

Go on with your bad self, Surkit!😃

I don't know what bisquits and gravy you been eating Spyder, but mine are NOT bland hahaha
@@DuoReacts I see this is a subject close to your heart 🤣
8:43 No because lagertha didn't love rollo

This ep was just foreplay!
See the heathen army and everyone pulls a cartman tells aelle screw you im goin home
Are you guys gonna get back into the walking dead game?
It's called the blood eagle
The show would be awfully boring if there wasn't time jumps...... Same reason GOT did it, no one wants to see weeks in the ocean
It really didn't take that many days for them to sail to England, 3-5 days on average. But that would be boring to watch aswell 😄
@@helenar3834 3-6 per sail if you want to be exact, but I meant in its totality of every time they sailed
18:00 No just no
YAY ! :P
dont you just love when shes always singing or talking to him and just stares at the tv like shut up ffs
Shut up bruh
im early and im Second :3
Can't watch more than 5 seconds of this super-annoying chic talking. Watching a show next to her... shoot me now.
