Honestly I don’t see how anyone couldn’t fall for her.
Their hometown is Horlivka, Ukraine which is quite literally the epicenter of the conflict and they had to flee the warzone and their friends and family.

When I hear a song for the first time and I tell myself "Hey. This is a cool song" And then you listen to it again and it grows on you. Then you tell yourself " I have to look up the lyrics" then it's even better.😀👍❤️🤘😁🤪
When I bought Macro I listened to the songs I hadn't heard yet and for some reason Home Back didn't grab my attention. It was "forgettable" to the point that I didn't even remember there was a "lounge" part in the middle until I heard it again in the OMV. Then the first time I watched the video this song instantly became one of my favourites. : )

If you liked that little Bossanova "Alice in Wonderland interlude" then give "Beggar's Dance" from the King of Everything album a listen. It's only 2 mins so not worth reacting to, but it's 2 mins of solid Bossanova, done Jinjer style. The bass riff is super funky & Roman even spoils us with a sweet little guitar solo.
A good reaction would be to do Prologue followed by Beggars Dance. They are related, yet totally different.

This song about lyrics in the first place, there is important message - every phrase describes a disaster in their country, which have been going for along time, and now its raging. "Home is not a building, home is liberty"
@@user-so7ly8rx2f Well, no. Every interview I’ve seen, they write every song instrumentally first, then lyrically.
Secondly, if home is strictly an idea; there would be no longing for specific geographical territory.
It makes zero sense that- “I came back ‘to liberty’, so I want my ‘liberty’ back”- if they’re referencing a territory where liberty hasn’t existed in a very long time, if ever. It definitely hasn’t existed in their lifetime.
I love Jinjer, but they grew up in a different world. They are nostalgic about growing up under the thumb of Russian totalitarian violence.
@@retoddedfields Liberty have been existed there, until 2014. i don't know the order of production, but still - theme of home and war is sensetive for Jinjer, as well as for me. Im' Russian, and i'm also angry about war - it horendous Mistake.
Sheer emotion and messege in this song... extremeley powerful and important lyrics, makes song 4 times as heavy.

Ukraine had freedom & independence as a nation, from the dissolution of the Soviet Union until recently, yes. Liberty however, is an individual’s state of being. An absence of coercion from the State.
Of course you’re right on war being shitty & the lyrics giving far greater weight onto the song.
But Ukraine has always been one of the most corrupt governments; even in peacetime.
But I respect, and mostly agree with your sentiment. I’m with you & the people of Ukraine.

Great video, I laughed when you mention the song order to be introduced to the band because it's not only true that it exist, but it really helps to get into it too. You did ended up taking a more musical path tho, as you followed teacher, teacher with pit of counsiousness, which is exactly why I found your channel. You picked a song outside the "normal" path and it was awesome. After seeing your other vids, I found it refreshing that you didn't focus solely on Tatiana, but rather picked up quickly on each member's awesomeness, which took me a while to realise.
Now that you have gotten a crush on her like the rest of the world, you can check out Judgment & Punishment, one take vocal. It's her and a mic, but still production quality.
Oh and a side note, 3:26 to 8:15 is why we listen to reaction vids, to get other people's perspectives, and in your case, the music knowledge and multiple obscur band references, so keep doing your thing, no need to apologize for it.

Uh-oh.... it's time for not only the angular, proggy, timings, but also Vlad's creation of #PeakSyncopation on top. It really is *a LOT* LOL
....non-musicians really struggle with this one. I play bass & enjoy some complex music, but I had to listen thru this 3 or 4 times, focusing on Vlad's ridiculous drumming (a couple of times!), then bass, then guitar, in order to have everything click. Songs like this, which are so complex you need to do homework to understand & thus properly appreciate them, are pretty rare in my experience.
I maintain the Alice in Wonderland -themed bonkers bossa nova chilled passage in this is touched by real #Genius - it's one of my favourite things they've created so far, & that is high praise indeed! :)

Yeah, I think we all have fallen in love with her. The thing is it's more about her presence and soul really. Don't get me wrong, she is absolutely beautiful, but her talent, presence, and the fact she sings from her soul is mesmerizing. Just shows you what being a truly authentic human being is like. She is definitely a unique and beautiful soul. She is inspiring.
Yep, this song is a personal song for them. Actually the majority of Tatiana's lyrics have a connection with what's going on with her and them. She has a message and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Another reason I really like them. So definitely check out the lyrics. She puts a lot of effort into them. Most are very poetic as well. Just love Perennial. It's a beautiful poem just the lyrics themselves, then add the band and her vocals, and yeah, you know :) Definitely looking forward to more Jinjer :)
Totally agree man. She's an attractive person who also happens to be beautiful to look at. The way she carries herself, and her talent is what is predominantly attractive.

Imho, Vlad is the last piece of the puzzle that has propeled Jinjer to the top of the game
Most reactions on youtube don't go into lyrics and that's fine. It's probably the hardest part to do since it's happening on a different layer and it takes ages to understand if the musicians haven't explained it publicly at some point.
Songs like Wide Awake from Audioslave are practically impossible to understand, but once I read about the meaning behind lyrics I was totally amazed.
Another interesting experience for me was Master of Puppets. I've heard the song hundreds of times over the past 15 years, but it was only a few weeks ago that I realized that the calmer instrumental midsection of the song represents the high/trip faze of drug use.
What I'm trying to say is: good songs take time. So take time and enjoy.

Benevolent advice: read their lyrics, if you don't want to miss half of their art. Very often Tatianas tone of voice emphasizes the message.
Just do a lyric video, like "Dreadful Moments" and you will see, what I mean. Nice reaction btw.

For me, the band that started and refined the complex time signature approach is Mahavishnu Orchestra. See their first 2 LPs, 1971 Inner Mounting Flame and 1973 Birds of Fire.

...another great reaction cuz...yeah this is a brutal song in every way....something you said about the ability they have of blending lyrics into this chaotic composition is what freaks me out the most about them...and the first time i heard that bossa nova section it reminded me instantly of the brazillian tune "girl from ipanema"...and i lost it.....great song....i share that "ear drawn to the instruments" thing that you do and tati being in the purest sense another instrument....when someone with your experience breaks down this band it is worth a listen...thanks man....more jinjer please...peace...

I always got blown away by every new Jinjer song, even when I didn`t like it that much in the beginning. But I always came to love it in the end. Your playing shows clearly that you not only know what you do with instruments, but show that you comprehend and like complex music. So it`s nice that even somebody like you is overwhelmed by that assaults of them. 😁
They always get you on a journey, there´s always a new surprise hidden in their songs! I won`t recommend some other songs, because you`re hooked anyway, so I don`t need to. But perhaps two pieces of advice: For "Judgment and Punishment" choose the one take vocal, for "Captian Clock" choose the lyric video and for "I Speak Astronomy" choose the official video. Why? With these versions you simply have better sound quality. For every other song, well, feel free to choose whatever you like! Probably won`t be disappointed once! 😊👍

I totally agree with these suggestions.
Agree except "Captain Clock" suggestion. I'd rather suggest "Captain Clock" live at Resurrection. Yeah, sound quality is a bit worse there. But it's offset by Tatiana's stunning stage presence. The "open eye" alone is worth seeing, not mentioning about the final part of the song.
@@glebivanov6323 No! Espscially with "Captian Clock" I would recommend the lyric video. The live version is somewhat too blurry, you really don`t hear the details. She has a fantastic stage perfomance there, agreed, but that you can see on a huge number of other live videos - with far better sound quality. And for the eye - yeah, but - really worth shitty sound quality?

Some great Jinjer reactions man. Glad you appreciate them as much as I do. Will be seeing them live for the second time this October! I'm an old metal head (45) that plays guitar. I've been bored with the metal scene until I discovered Jinjer 2 years ago with their Pisces video of course lol and went full in down the rabbit hole, rekindling my spirit for great metal talent that has been absent to me for quite some time. Amazing talented artist all these guys are and Tatiana is a real snowwoman and multi faceted artist who is real easy to get a crush on. We all have!
The drummer for Suicide Silence and her are now newly engaged (or married) now as of pretty recent just FYI.
Next good reaction for you would be Noah, or Pit of consciousness live in Keive. Of course there is Tatiana's one take vocal performance of their song Judgment and Punishment too, if your fixing for a dose of just one on one with Tati lol, Its highly entertaining! And you definitely need to check out their latest albums, they are really amazing. I think they stayed really consistent with the quality of their music while offering some new stuff as well. Who’s going to be the one live & Judgment and punishment live both have a Reggae element to those songs😁👍
First: your intro is sick man! Love it!
Second: the order is good for the first 4/5 songs to get into the moving train, then anything goes cause it´s all impressive.
Third: totally fine with lyrics, some do them, some don´t. And its hard for a first listen (even second, third, etc) to absorb it all.
Forth: the song is about the war in their homecountry Ukrayne. And as this video is very recent I only picked that up after reading the lyrics and meaning.
Fifth: try the amazing "Retrospection" that has sort of the same theme as this (home, roots, family) but with an oposite vibe.
Sixth: the brilliant collision of genres that is "Judgment & Punishment" will blow your mind. The One Take Vocal version is a blast!
Seventh: Get in the massive line of the Tatiana crush, we´ve all been there. Hell, I even see lots (really, a lot) of women feeling the same.
Eighth: Keep up the great reactions. Always learn something when you go more technical into the music.

We know that the guys write the music and present it to Tati. But If Tati writes the lyrics *and* the melodies I find it remarkable. Her gift for beautiful and hooky melodies is way up there. And there is too much focus on her growls, which pulls attention away from her high-pitched screams, which are *incredible*.
I really felt from your first Jinjer reaction that you would love this band! You’re doing a great job imo. Also loved your intro and I would assume you’re familiar with Dream Theater but if there’s a song you don’t know that would be fun maybe pale blue dot live in London. Or maybe do a side project from members and ex-members of DT called Liquid Tension Experiment who have a brand new album out 20 years after their last. It’s called LTE 3 and the song called passage of time is great. Anyway keep up the good work.
Hi Rich, I actually have a couple of reactions to Dream Theater on my channel. I got into them a long time ago but only ever listened to a few of their albums so there's lots of their music I still don't know. Remember listening to some LTE back in the day, too. Didn't know they had a new one out. Cheers!
As important as lyrics are to Jinjer, I to am 90% music and vocals. One of the few bands that can seamlessly transition between genres multiple times in a song.
Love the stank face all the way through the song, it's the only appropriate reaction to Jinjer's insane talent. I'm not a musician and have a bachelor's in English lit, but I still generally pay more attention to the music itself than the lyrics. Especially in metal, it's very much about the MOOD, not the words, at least for me. This song is a definite exception to that rule. Even on the very first listen the lyrics stuck out so much to me and hit even harder once I knew the backstory with their hometown being at the epicenter of Ukraine's ongoing conflict with Russia. That confusion between fantasy and grim reality just....I dunno it just gets to me. I've never had to flee a war zone, but I was in a pretty traumatic accident in my early 20s that gave me some mild PTSD symptoms, so the themes were kind of familiar to me. I've had that feeling of knowing something traumatic is happening but desperately wanting to escape it for fantasy worlds, and for me the "home" would be my body before the accident but I'll never get that back. It makes me angry, then desperately sad, then angry again, which I think we all sometimes need from a song.
Thanks for sharing that. I guess that's part of the beauty of art. There is often a message behind it but what we take from it can have multiple, sometimes highly personal, meanings too.

The reason a lot of people want you to listen to their songs in a specific order is because obviously Pisces is the most shocking but really only to people who have no base in metal and aggressive rocknroll. I've been into that almost my entire life so other than the fact that Tatiana can reach levels with her growls on par with most male singers nothing about it really raised an eyebrow(I already had their first album by then anyway) since I've know lots of female singers like that. Lynda Simpson of Sacrilege probably being the first female singer that had me scratching my head as to whether is was a guy or not and that was in 1985. For your own good, even if you don't react to it, go back and familiarize yourself with Tatiana's lyrics. Songs like this are deep AF. "Perennial" is a beautiful Druidic Pagan poem about mother nature going into winter. "Ape" is a story about the F up in evolution that is mankind. "Teacher Teacher" is, well obvious, but the words are poignant. None of them are dull, or banal. She a beautiful poet, with a lot to say.

This is their real story. They were in the center of war when they decided to leave their homes. Band lives in constant fear of loosing their parents. Tatiana visits them once a year and it is not a pleasant journey.
