just used this helmet for an all day ride. absolutely love it. relatively quiet, the shape doesnt cause buffeting, very good field of view, all mechanics of the helmet work very smoothly. i do prefer a D clip for the strap but thats personal taste. ventilation is very good when rear vents are open and visors are up, or closed with top/front vent open. dark eye shield is great. not too dark so it can be used in cloudy conditions, not too light so it can be used on a sunny day. no distortion, very clear lens. dont forget it has latest ECE rating and maintains that safety rating whether fully closed with chin bar down, and in any combination of what is possible with the lid/visor/chin bar up/down. this is probably the most underrated underpriced helmet out there.
@@hakimshajime8245 no i did not. my head is at the limit for medium. i ordered both medium and large but the large was way too big. the cheek pads are tight but they are supposed to be and it has the feel that the pads will fit less tightly with more use. if it continues to be a problem the company has 'thin' cheek pads. i also am using the cardo unit made for the helmet. the speakers fit very well into the helmet pockets. the additional cushions to get the speakers closer to my ears made the speakers uncomfortable and are not necessary. the sound is fine. it isnt the same quality you would get out of a home stereo but still very good for use with a helmet.
I recently traded my HD RoadGlide for a Triumph Tiger and made the switch to a modular helmet. I wound up getting an LS2 Valiant 2 and I absolutely love the way the chin guard rolls to the rear of the helmet b/c I prefer to ride open face with the clear visor down. Having the option to roll the chin guard forward for cold or rainy conditions and use it as full face helmet is pure genius in design. I can’t understand why everyone who prefers a modular design isn’t going out and buying an LS2. The other thing which I think they did well with the LS2 was design the visor to engage a detente that leaves a small gap for air flow when the visor is down. This is the most bullet proof way to ensure the visor stays clear even in the most adverse riding conditions.
I've been using ls2 valiant for about 5 years now absolutely love them they dont make the ls2 valiant now and I'm looking at the advant x which I will buy one and I think you will be very happy with yours
I love my Advant X and my previous Valiant FF399 Chrome. The Valiant felt more substantial, (chin bar particularly) albeit a bit heavier, but the visor was a pig to remove carefully unlike the Advant which takes seconds & little effort. They are both suffer with significant wind-noise though (that’s what ear plugs are for right?) but they are the most useful lids out there in my opinion. In my experience the LS2 UK Warranty centre have been great after I noticed some corrosion of the metal chin-bar release button. I took some photos, emailed them over and they called me to tell me to return to the retailer & LS2 will replace the chin-bar free of charge. At this moment in time I will defo purchase my third when the time comes 👍
I’ve got the carbon version it vents really well but hells bells it is noisy but saying that I got it for summer use .as my favourite helmet is now only winter use shuberth e1 👍as for boots I use garne trials boot comfortable straight out the box they are oiled but coming from the trials world have always slard nicwax on them from new because when trialing you some times have to wade through water have never ever let me down in the wet
All in the past now, for the very same reasons you mentioned regarding flip up chin bar, as I’ve purchased an LS2 Advant X in White. I can now legally ride with the chin bar up and use the clear visor which couldn’t before. Id ride with internal dark sun shield down to protect my eyes I’ve now fitted my Sena Spider ST1 comms. Had to use the self adhesive bracket as the clamp version wouldn’t fit
Yes, the helmet looks great, and you might be lucky enough that the helmet doesn't break in any segment like your last one and is 100% correct. LS2 unfortunately does NOT accept its complaints
I’m having trouble getting a helmet for my head .. being oval shaped and I’ve been having trouble finding a helmet where I can wear my glasses and bring the tinted visor down.. Ive been told that the LS2 will fit me better.. my head measures 63cm and I’m starting to think I’m a freak of nature lol I do like the looks of this helmet and thank you for your review 🤙
I got one from SBS last week but it's being returned, mainly because the chin strap, even at full extension is just way too tight for me, ridicuous really for maybe an inch longer (no jokes please), it was also hard to locate the micrometric in place, and the cheek pads are way too tight for me. maybe i just have a fat head, as the quality of it seemed great, so next im trying a shark evo & hjc i100 to see if they are more suitable for me, anyway thanks for the review, at least now i know it aint for me. GL
@@oldmaninashed me neither, however sbs didnt have the option of trying on either the boots or helmet in store, so i had no choice if i wanted to explore to see if they fit properly, and free returns if not, so no damage done apart from the hassle of a trip to the post office, unfortunately neither is for me so went back. after xmas i'm popping into their store to check out the shark evo gt flip over helmet, and HJC i100 to see if either fit me. I love the new shoei neotec 3, but dont like the fact it will probably be a big sail and top heavy when flipped up half way. anyhoo the search goes on :)
For several years I used ls2 storm and then ls2 valiant 2 Both helmets are very noisy, so much so that it is impossible to operate them without earplugs. The LS2 games are over. I have to switch to RPHA91 from HJC.
The fit is very personal, so I would always advise people to go and try a helmet on. As to sizing I could not comment as I do not know enough about how the fit relates to other helmets. So I would recommend finding a local dealer and try some on and find the helmet that fits you, some helmets I liked would not fit me so I had to try other makes. The helmet I would recommend is the one that fits you and that you like. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Does anybody know where to purchase the polished carbon from? I see them all over UA-cam but LS2 says the polished carbon is a misconception… I disagree, I’m in America so it maybe allocated outside the states. If anybody knows, please let me know, I want it.

I have to say I'm very happy with my LS2 helmet. Great in the hot weather to be able to get lots of fresh air.
Great review, Thanks! I just purchased an Advant X as well but decided to go with White to improve visibility/safety.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm very happy with mine. Hope you are with yours.

Glad I could help, I'm very happy with mine.
You've just got yourself a new sub, love the intro, love the straight to the point video.
Thanks for the nice comment
Amazing package for your money. Pinlock and spare tinted visor included in the price. 5 year warranty helmet bag and ruck sack.
I'm very happy with mine. A bit noisy above 65mph. But still a great helmet.

Very cool looking helmet mate
Ey up
Had my visor suffer same issue with screws falling out on a HJC i90 from new
Solved by using Loctite
They should apply it in the factory. Cheers for the comment.

It's all about the fit with helmets, I tried a few helmets that I liked but the fit was not right. That's why I wouldn't buy online.

What do think about the fitment..do u think we need to upsize for this ls2..? What is ur previous helmet size..?

1 sec...pausing while I get a coffee too
Do you find the cheek padding tight? Have you used the pinlock?
They are snug but I think you can order them in other sizes.
It looks like the LS2 logo is painted onto the helmet. Is it actually a sticker? Can it be removed?
Looks like it's under the clear coat. I don't think it can be removed.
How has the helmet faired over the last 8 months? Recommend it?
It's as new, I love this helmet though it suffers a little from wind noise.
@@oldmaninashed I’ve heard that about all flip over helmets, a compromise over convenance….

Probably just the carbon helmet that looks glossy under video lights. If they say they don't make a polished one, well they should know.
@@oldmaninashed yeah, I have to agree with you on that. Flat black matte it is!
Maybe a little late, but I got a glossy one from Amazon Italy. XL sice +/- 280 Euros. And yes thats for the carbon.
Pull it on for us, let us see how it looks.
It can be seen on some of my videos but I will try to upload a picture at some point.
£260 on Ebay mate!
