- For Panorama 1987, Exodus Steel Orchestra featured an exhilarating Ray Holman arrangement of the calypso "Pan Woman".
This calypso "Pan woman " was composed by Winsford "Joker" Devine (lyrics) and Ray Holman.
A timeless classic, magical music!

jeff narell was also there played next to me I hope Ray goes back to the jazzy arangements I love so bad too sad the band couldn't execute it right Exodus now would tear up this one

sometimes selfishness can be a curse=no where in those credits on the banner you no where on the banner you will find the name ''WINSFORD DEVINE although i am who wrote the lyrics to ''pan woman'' and put the title pan woman they said i only wrote the lyrics i did not compose the song=say what!!!-but it caused me to stop writing lyrics for ray holman for quite a long while

Ray at his genius best. His structure of this tune was unheralded in any of his previous arrangements. We must give thanks to Amighty God for giving us Ray Hollman. He is some one very special.
Ray tells the story of the Western sound. The music can be played on the road on both carnival days and nights. Music.
Shame the sound quality isn't so good but a very difficult piece, We learned to play half of it when at school and it took us 6 weeks with 2 2 hr lessons a week! The other half I'd never heard until now, amazing!
My school learned the whole thing in 12 weeks with one 30 minute lesson per week
Which Panorama? I used to go to the one in Brooklyn, at Brooklyn Museum, when I lived in Flatbush.

Don't mess with perfection. This is a classic!
Jit was a mastermind at arranging but I hardly think he could've improved this arrangement.This was the best arrangement for Panorama 1987.
Exhilarating is the word alright....must be easier to arrange your own music....still feels so good all these after.
The Musical quality and standard of this Classic was much too high for those Judges that year. In Ray's vast collection of Treasures this is probably the most valuable.
