Once again making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. The dread in your voice was so acute when you were talking about digging into the dam and that would've been several days worth of work, I bet. Serendipity sure raised her head when you & the owner were talking. This was great to watch, Chris. It shows your character that you stand by your work. Thanks for sharing with us all.❤
That pond was full of surprises. Luckily, you were rained out and hadn't moved your equipment to the next job. I'm glad it was an easy fix, and you spotted the problem.
I bet the land owner was surprised you came back out to fix it so fast. Or at all. It's very difficult to get contractors back out to fix issues. Only the really good ones come back so fast. While I've never seen you have to return before, I think we all knew you would take care of any issues.
Good job Chris! It really looks like the previous dam builder had very little compaction on the dam. That can be a never ending nightmare. You would almost have to core the whole dam to fix it if it leaks again. Hope you all survived all the rain down your way…Take care and thanks for the video….
Nice catch on the hidden pipe, and nice repair on the problem, and like you said, at least the equipment was still on site$$$$, thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
That was some good luck on your part finding that old buried pipe. good looking job. You sure make it look easy. Thanks for letting me ride along with you.
I feel sorry for the owner who must have been so pleased with the work that you carried out and then so disappointed when he found that there was another issue . But that’s life , always surprises round the corner .
That pond filled up really fast. It’s a good thing that it did, otherwise you wouldn’t have known there was a leak until after you moved all your equipment. It wasn’t your fault and it was a relatively easy fix. It would have been a shame to do all that work and still have a leak. This pond should be good for many decades to come.
Quality workmanship as always Chris. It’s all your previous experiences that gives the insights and wisdoms needed when figuring out and fixing these hidden problems and challenges. Respects to you Fella..
Glad it appears to be a simple fix. Really is kind of wild a leak on the corner of the dam can exit in the middle of the dam. Guess it must show how much concrete and other debris must be buried in that dam for the leak to snake that far.
They needed 3 overflows for the pond lol a spillway and 2 thru pipes since they were all installed poorly and not functioning how they should. Seems your client is from the same state as me being a Lions fan, they suck but we still cheer for them lmao
interesting video Chris to see how you go about doing an emergency repair. Not interesting for Steve the owner of course. You are showing your experience 🇬🇧
I've watched enough of your videos to know that the brown clay which seems to be your most preferred soil would be better than the rock/concrete soil, seems like NC is getting lots of extra rain this year.
Watching your channel is like an adventure into the world of funny characters and hilarious situations. Keep making us happy with your funny videos!❤️🐍🏉
Maybe a quart of food coloring dropped into the area where the bank was sucking in water. just to verify you are in the right neighborhood. could be more than one feeder.
Sounds like initially you should have put a new core through the center of the whole width of the dam. Hopefully you’ve got the root cause and won’t be back.👍
Great catch, good thing you caught that, like you said you could have dug for days and still not have found that mess.great video as always.I’m sure customer is happy with the outcome but would have preferred nothing to begin with.just what you wanted to do,instead of going to next project.👍👍👍😎😎😎
That thumb would drive me nuts always leaking down and being floppy. I operated a Cat 330 that did the same. We put a spring loaded lock on the stick. When you put the thumb all the way up it would latch in sort of like a gate latch. Then when you went to use the thumb the latch only held on by a very little bit and the hydraulic of the thumb just let the thumb work as normal.
Im still early in the video but when you were pulling the old pipes out.. i was thinking things didnt add up.. seemed like there was an extra pipe there too
ps dad use to throw hand fulls of bentonite on the water to see which direction it wanted to move when he was leak tracing ponds. If it stopped in one place for a while and did not move much it was usually underneath where it stopped. It was more like sprinkling a film on the water than clumps.
The new repair and with new Overflow Set to put, is leaking on the other Side how the Overflow is. Open the Leak with the Excavator and look what the Problem? Great Stone in the Earth how the Dam with the Hill to come together. You to dig out the Stone repair greatest possible and hope, the Pond is Water Impervious for ever. 👌👍

Once - in all the years I followed him, I saw it one other time - so, still a master of his craft :)
No problem with the problem! Problems exist to be solved. 😃
That really is a natural looking pond. Beautiful.
Glad you still had the equipment there. Found and solved that mystery quick!
There are so many unknowns when you buy a property with a pond. Good job, Chris, and thankfully, you all found that spot.
Glad you found the issue right away!! Nice solution!!
I reckon it's the periscope from an abandoned cold war submarine
The old hidden pipe trick will get you every time
Naw, my wife never fell for that one.
I figured this pond would top off after all that rain. Too find this before Chris left is good fortune/luck and be able to fix is great.

Pure luck that you found that pipe. Nice job.
Nice catch on the hidden pipe, and nice repair on the problem, and like you said, at least the equipment was still on site$$$$, thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Glad you seen the water moving before you dug up the pond dam You must be living right!! Great quick fix and had good clay right within reach
Lucky the pond filled up so quickly and no grass to hide the leak :-)
Wow, If You Hadn't Raised The Pond, You'd Never Known That Pipe Was There!! Great Detective Work, Once Again!!!
Thank you for showing us problem areas! 👍👏❤😍
The Pond Master knows how to look for a leak. Now you just let out your secret- look for moving water where it should not move.
Good find Chris. Glad it was an easy fix.

Good morning everyone I hope you all enjoy your day we have a rainy day here today ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🙂
Where do you live 😂😂
I feel sorry for the owner who must have been so pleased with the work that you carried out and then so disappointed when he found that there was another issue . But that’s life , always surprises round the corner .
Had no doubt in my mind that you could not fix that leak .
At least all the equipment was still there .
Way to stand behind your work and making it right! Well done!

Chris doesn't feel like getting the compactor started so he just drives the excavator into the hole and packs it down, awesome.
All that work and it looks like you have never been there ,the sign of a professional 😂😂great job
Amazing how you spotted that very important movement.
But then again , Chris you have a eye for detail.
Good morning Chris and hope you are doing well 😊❤️🩹😊❤
I never saw a pipe being pulled out, but maybe it was crushed up while digging out? Glad the leak got fixed.
You can see pieces of large diameter concrete pipe that he picks out of the dirt pile after a few scoops
Great job guys. Hope that fixes the leak.
I thought you were on the hook for warranty work
Good thing the pond filled up while all your equipment was there
Good save on this Chris between you and the owner!

Boy what a stroke of luck to see that water flow! Good eye!
They needed 3 overflows for the pond lol a spillway and 2 thru pipes since they were all installed poorly and not functioning how they should. Seems your client is from the same state as me being a Lions fan, they suck but we still cheer for them lmao
Nice video Chris. Spoting that water moving sure shaved a lot of digging.
I'm sure he was relieved you were there on the case. Those concrete chunks were huge! They thought it would last, it did not.
Chris' new service: Ponds fixed while you wait.
JOB WELL DONE ,when it comes to Dam building you are the master Time to put a Cartoon Beaver on your logo
Great job!
Concrete scrap will always come back and haunt you
THANKS!
Send in the beavers 🦫 They'll stop the water leaking 😁
🦫🦫🦫
😂
you must have fixed it too good
You are bloody clever! Fixed with one machine!
interesting video Chris to see how you go about doing an emergency repair. Not interesting for Steve the owner of course. You are showing your experience 🇬🇧
Had you not noticed that water moving, you would have dug up half of that dam before finding the problem.
That’s a first time you had to fix a leaky pond since I started following your channel a few years ago.
I've watched enough of your videos to know that the brown clay which seems to be your most preferred soil would be better than the rock/concrete soil, seems like NC is getting lots of extra rain this year.

It was meant to be. If the rain hadn’t come you would have moved your equipment and the leak wouldn’t have shown up until much later.
Remember Chris Rome wasn’t built in a day and it’s your work ethics that you back that quick Carolina man
Walk the top section and find the intake. Take it from an old irrigator. Find the intake is the only fix.
Man I hate water leaks, that could be coming fro anywhere. I think you found the problem.
Great job sir, awesome find. That's how customers keep coming back to you. Phenomenal work
Oak Island could get a couple seasons out of that.
So all that rain was actually a blessing from 'da skies...lol.
Good eye Chris. Good eye.
I’ve always said a problem isn’t a problem if it can be fixed
A job well done again.
Maybe line the dam with a big giant sheet and back fill it over the sheet
That was very exciting. Knew you would fix ❤❤❤❤❤😂
North Carolina Beaver at his finest …😜.
😖 it just goes to show you, it's always something - if it's not one thing, it's another 😊 👍🏻 Chris for the fix
Yeah, might be a good thing that it rained and leak was found before moving off site.
Hopefully that's the fix great video thanks Chris
Good eye and job!
Another pipe! Well I'll be...☹☹
So the cow boy builders put all the broken concrete in at least you was still there Chris and saved the day
I imagine that this is what it would be like to watch Da Vinci work.
Great catch, good thing you caught that, like you said you could have dug for days and still not have found that mess.great video as always.I’m sure customer is happy with the outcome but would have preferred nothing to begin with.just what you wanted to do,instead of going to next project.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Betty and Barnys son had a club and kept hitting the ground saying bam bam maybe the waka packer should be called bam bam
I’m certain that this was an hourly rate job so you aren’t out any expenses except the time to fix their problem
Thank you Sir for this video
Lucky find. 😊😊😊😊
You know it's really hard to offer feedback in a one way conversation.
Poor little pond dam was having a bad dream and wet the bed.

That was superb Chris you are the best ever that’s a beautiful pond 💕😊
He just needs to hire you to tear that old dam out and put in a proper one.
That would be like rebuilding your house from the ground up because your roof leaks? 🤷🏽♂️
@@ShalomBrother your house may need rebuilt if you get blsck mold from the leak. 😉
@@FatKidBrody 🙄
Prolem solved. Good work.
I her what you where thinking! Chris.
Excellent work as always!
Did Chris said dump trucks and dozer going to Volvo excavator is on
Im still early in the video but when you were pulling the old pipes out.. i was thinking things didnt add up.. seemed like there was an extra pipe there too
pipe in the spillway, well they did have a road they needed to drive, so it seems to make sense,
Good job Chris!!
Well that sucks. Does the owner have any financial recourse for the extra drain not being disclosed during the purchase?
Yes now is the time to find it your right
Yikes! Warranty work…😂
This dam has more pipes than water 😂😂
Well done super job Chris.
Nice job
A spillway under your new spillway. Who woulda thought?

That’s not good
