Kia's design and tech also helped penetrate. The indirect factors that has boosted SUVs and compact SUVs demand is the demographics and rising standrads of the middle class. The after sales is a positive factor in helping KIA make a brand for itself in teh Indian market. Turbo engine with 3 cylinders and DCT technology are key features in Sonet
Do you remember Renault Duster and where it is now? Also Middle class is rising but getting loans easily and to fulfill a dream to have suv is biggest factor in rise of Kia in india
I have to correct you here being a owner of GM and Ford here. In terms of mileage both stands out fords tdci diesel has been a best diesel engine out there . Kia got an advantage just because of design , existing presence of hyundai and some gimmicky features such as ventilated seat .
Fuel efficiency comes from the light weight body. Atrocious to see the car split into two, during a road accident...
