    Ageism in corporate job is a part of the harsh reality of corporate job IT employees and Tech employees face. The reality of corporate career which we often try to look over is that it prefers freshers who can learn faster over those who are more experienced but less flexible and expensive to employ. This dark reality of corporate jobs or dark reality of corporate world often goes unnoticed and because of certain mistakes made by corporate employees and IT employees in 30s and 40s, they start suffering in this reality of corproate jobs even if they have a good profile and experience.
    In this video, I talked about the ageism in workplace that plagues corporate jobs. Ageism in Tech and ageism in software development are some of the most pronounced forms of ageism in corporate jobs or ageism in the workplace. This reality of the corporate world is that this ageism in tech and ageism in software development is not often noticed by IT employees and corporate employees until they face problems within their IT Jobs and Corporate jobs. We have seen during the layoffs 2024 saga that a lot of experienced corporate employees were replaced by freshers because of the changing demands in the market as if to say that your experience doesn’t matter.
    Corporate life and corporate career need to be planned as per good corporate career guidance. IT Job after 30 or IT Job after 40 are difficult to plan for in advance but you should prepare for this harsh reality of IT Jobs in 30s well in advance so you can face it later. Career after 40 years age or IT life after 40 years age comes with its own set of challenges which are very difficult to face as we get older. This is the the truth of corporate job and the IT job reality which most corporate employees and IT employees understand very late.
    IT career after 40 years age or Career after 40 years age in general needs to be planned as per sound career guidance. I regularly create videos about the reality of corporate jobs and the reality of IT jobs to help those looking to get into IT jobs and Tech Jobs understand the harsh reality of the corporate world and plan for the same. If you want deeper understanding of the reality of IT Jobs and the ageism in tech then make sure to watch other videos I have done about the Layoffs 2024, return to office in IT jobs, work from home vs work from office, IT industry news, Tech trends update, TCS News, Infosys News, Wipro News, TCS vs Infosys vs Wipro, and IT industry share news. Well I have 14 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud. My experience is if you want to stay in a tech individual contributor role post a decade and half it's must to take the SME or architect role else take the management route like the team lead or manager profile.
    I see people with 10-20 years of experience technically outdated never jumped the professional ladder with no desire for hikes or switching. These people are heading towards career suicide. As it's true more experience doesn't mean you are good tech because it's skills that matter. Moral of story keep on learning new things to survive in IT. It's an industry of skilled professionals and merciless during layoff times, so stay skilled.

    Switching is always beneficial. it doesn't matter if you lose some time, u want that CTC tag because companies give hike on CTC. So now you know it's not the employees but the way you evaluate our worth. so continue that and employee will continue to switch. and one must switch.

    • @yogeshpal615
      @yogeshpal615 19 днів тому +1

      Correct, I'm facing this scenario now and regretting not switching frequently.
      I stayed in one company from like last 4 years, company only give 2 appraisals of 10% to everyone and cancelled 2.
      Meanwhile within this tenure my friend switched 3 jobs and took 40% to 80% raise and how his CTC is 2.5 times then mine.
      It's a shame on employee to show loyalty these days especially when a person is young.

    • @kandycan
      @kandycan 19 днів тому +1

      @@yogeshpal615 what these people do not understand is that they are too stupid to realize that their very first question about "what's your current CTC" and not telling "the CTC being offered and the role they are hiring for" is so so awful. They do not want to accept the issue they have with hiring. And this person who made this video won't even read my comment because he feel godly of himself and he just knows whats the issue. And that is.. "the employee". The employee is the punching bag in every situation.

    Sir, there is a world outside IT also. And you yourself are from consulting background. Please make some videos about other industries also, comparing them with IT.
    For example Law and Finance industries, where the individuals are valued because of their network of clients and these individuals don’t loose there relevance with time. In fact they only gain value with time. A new fresher lawyer can never compete with a lawyer with 15 years of good reputation built. But in case of IT a fresher software engineer who is highly talented can easily challenge a 15 years experienced software developer on a technology which arrived just 2 years back for example. In this case even if the experienced came out to be a bit more efficient the thing is will company spend 5X more for him when a similar resource at 1/5th price is available?

    • @Udit.Bhalla
      @Udit.Bhalla 19 днів тому

      I’m a recent graduate engineer from a premier institute of New Delhi.
      I hate the idea of dealing skills with money. Your skill may be relevant today but not tomorrow.
      It’s very volatile. You are not building anything.
      Selling your network which is slowly built but ever growing and building a reputation in market for goodwill will always be more valuable. It’s in real terms a career. because when I think of career, what comes to my mind is a long term progressive and stable thing.

Despite waiting since 2024, I haven't received a joining date from Infosys. I've also completed a developer course, but finding an IT job has been tough. When seeking referrals, some hesitate because of my lack of experience and civil engineering background.
