Really love the Nikke Devs connecting all of Maiden's stories from the other events together. Ingrid is 2nd best Mom to Grave. She is hard on her girls, but she totally cares for them! 💖Finally a story that doesn't end with me in tears! It was such a touching moment, so I totally get your feelings Yess! 🤗
It's a tale as old as time - a bond between a mortal and an immortal. It's a bittersweet realization for me, knowing that one day Guillotine will outlive her one human friend, someone that she's known since Chloe's childhood. But right now, they're reunited and that's all that matters. And even however long time has passed for the two of them, not once did Chloe forget her friend too. She still remembers how they used to talk, and the amazing stories they've made together back then. She's such a good friend ;__;
One of my biggest takeaways from Ice Dragon Saga is that it adds more context to Guillotine's preexisting character and scenes. Rewatching Guillotine's bond story emphasizes that the tragedy she experienced years ago wasn't an isolated case. As the player, we've seen her execute or subdue Nikkes terrorizing the Ark only two or three times at most, but the news broadcast in her fifth episode suggests similar incidents occur frequently enough for anti-Nikke groups to stage public protests. Despite witnessing these protests, her role in Extrinsic prevents her from finding solidarity with other Nikkes. Even Nikkes who do know her, like Exia, only get to see what's on the surface. Before meeting the Commander, her social media followers were seemingly her closest contacts other than Ingrid. But considering the content of their group chat, she likely never spoke openly about her feelings like she did with Chloe. On the subject of Chloe, I like how so many of Guillotine's quirks and habits are explained as powers that her friend taught her. In an outpost encounter with Sakura, she teleports after misleading Underworld Queen into believing The Big O is a real criminal syndicate. Another shows her seeking autographs from the other members of Prima Donna. My personal favourite is when she goes out of her way to spend time with Anne and tries to conjure her memories from an alternate dimension. I like to believe she was thinking of the same world Chloe created. Guillotine is my most favourite Nikke. She's stayed on my main team ever since I recruited her over a year and a half ago, and she's the first Nikke I raised to Max Core. I was happy enough with an event where she played a major role, but discovering a deeper understanding and appreciation of who she is made Ice Dragon Saga even better than I could have imagined.
No way they didn't tell her. Maiden's whole thing is that she's a living legend amongst the other Nikkes. No one would believe her anyway. Man, I wish they showed older Chloe, just to get a sense of how many years have passed. Though I get the feeling that would've been a bit too much for me haha 😅
While it wasn't needed to make this my favourite christmas event, it still held up. It had me on edge the entire time because they could of easily pull the rug with Chloe at anytime, there may of been a few lines that leaned more to it actually being her but there's still enough left unseen that it could easily be 'her'. Same voice, no model, the 'reused' CG that nails the vagueness... I still half expect the final twist to pop up at any moment where Guillotine isn't outside a room... Hopium that Chloe gets a full cameo in the next christmas event.
