These things are always on crazy sale now in stores like Best Buy. The switch version was $15 CAD, and ps4/Xbox were $8 CAD. Picked up the switch version. This was the physical version too! Looks fun enough at that price
If you don't like the toy's, just download the game. For the same price you get 4 ship's, 6 pilot's and a lot of guns. The game is very good and addictive.
You only have to scan the ship and pilot once every 7 days. You don't have to leave it on the controller. So basically once the ship and pilot are scanned you can use the Pro Controller..

Which is unfortunate. This _physical copy_ of the game will not exist after they shut down the servers for archival purposes. This trend is effectively killing off video games.
However people defend or justify this practice, it's still bad. These half game's will eventually become unsupported, therefore, the physical WILL be throwaway. Not everyone can afford HS internet, or any internet in some cases. Ubisoft,etc, should shape up, or ship out. This game is currently reduced now to less than half price. I bought it solely for the Arwing model and fox figure to display, but I own and play the PS4 version. Its not about the cartridge, it's about DRM. Peace to all gamers, and hoping this trend dies out.
At this point I'm just hoping Retro Studios Star Fox Racing game is real. Anything more Star Fox after the Disaster of Zero is a Buy in my book! Hopfully with Krystal's return!

Got excited about it... started buying toys... and the more toys I got... the more my portable version of the game got neutered. I paid for the physical toy software upgrades. Now many of my weapons are only available for 24 hour periods in both modes. It’s like Ubisoft is saying “nobody will buy the physical. If it’s unlocked. You must have stolen or borrowed it.” So upsetting. Had plans to finish this game over a week on vacation in the portable mode. Now I plan to never play it or buy a new UBISOFT game again

I posted this at the beginning of my campaign to end it... I’m glad they stopped doing it. It was 24 hrs... and then it was a week long... and I made sure they understand when you buy a physical... I should own it out right. I was halfway through collecting the physicals when I went to play the game and nothing in it worked, and I was out of town away from the toys... I’ve had to say this so many times now... so if you have no limits... cool. My experience differed from the first day it was out.
Could you show us a speed up of you taking it apart? You could show a timestamp for the end to appease those that don't wanna see it. That would make everybody Happy
This game would have been so cool if they would have fit the whole game on the game card instead of being cheap and having people download a portion of the game in order to play it.
Excellent unboxing n taking apart video Jon(SW). I was probably one of the few that was interested in StarLink when it was first shown but when Star Fox was announced too be part of the game I was sold and when it was announced that you can play through the entire game with Fox n the crew, it was a no brainer. I cannot wait too play this but I am playing Torna DLC at the mo trying too finish that of then hopefully it's some StarLink x Star Fox time :-).
this game is great however the toys to life stuff is just too pricey, grab the digital deluxe version as it gives you access to everything extra you could buy physical while only costing $80 total when the starter physical edition is $75. if you dig the ships buy them for models only and play this game digitally.

Chicken Perm, it's a really cool game. Not game of the year, IMO, but it's addicting and good fun. Against games like SPIDER-MAN, and God of War. It definitely had some tough competition. Just to confirm. I love the game! And the Star Fox stuff is amazing.

If they put the “download required” banner on the main box why do they have to put it on the actual case! Or they could have made a reversible cover instead of including a big poster, that would require way less ink and less paper. Just saying, I think we are all tired of these games requiring downloads, Nintendo needs to just lower the prices of the cartridges or companies just need to pay up.

Looks like they put 6.7gb on the cart & the remaining 6gb has to be downloaded. The cartridge is useless without the download. Another good game, broken in half to save a buck.

It's 12.6gb because of the 6gb patches, if you own the physical version you still need the patch for dlc or bug fix if I'm not mistaken

When I connect the Arwing to the joycon grip it doesn't work.

Thankfully you don’t have to play with the mount everytime in the physical copy. However, I believe you have to link it every 7 days

That isn't much of a good complaint, especially for me, I own a 128 gb micro SD card (I bought it for 40 dollars) and 12 gigs digital is nothing

A different poster too.... and the game box actually has a small booklet insert that is nothing more than warranty info - in several different languages! Also, it has different box-art, and a separate slip-cover over the main box.
This actually looks sick...I got to get a new switch first tho (mines warped and bent to the point where the lcd is starting to get affected, blue spots are appearing on the screen now). I might wait for a revision tho go see if they fix that issue. I babied it too, it never left my house

Looks like they put 6.7gb on the cart & the remaining 6gb has to be downloaded. The cartridge is useless without the download. Another good game, broken in half to save a buck.
Thank you so much for letting me know. I dont know why Spawn Wave and other game reviewers fail to report this. It does make a difference. I was looking to buy it, but knowing that it isn't a Phys-Full-Cart means I will not buy it.

Yeah. I really understand that. But if it doesn't come in a full-cart, I am not buying it. I stopped buying digital #NintendoSwitch games some time ago. Its not worth it to me. So when I say you saved me $60, I meant $60 outright. Thank you again.
BTW : I think if people stopped buying the Physical Half-Carts and Digital only releases, Nintendo would come down on the cart prices. This is one time I wish the Switch suffered like the Wii. :/

So is this game any good on PS4 and Xbox one? Every reviewer talks about the Star Fox content on the Switch but I cant find a review for the other console versions.
MitchG I think making a special character for switch only. Should've just made the game exclusive for switch. The way they released it doesn't really make since for Sony or Xbox fans to care to buy it.
