- This is our hike through the Narrows at Zion National Park and encountering a storm that caused the Narrows to be closed due to flash flood danger. In the video, I'll show you the narrows, some tips and advice along with gear advice. Thanks for watching. If you liked the video, please hit the like and subscribe button and help my channel. Thanks
You guys took a big risk entering the Narrows when the Flash Flood warning level was "probable". That means the chances of a flash flood are very high. I'm glad you got out in time, but the only way I go in there is when the level is "not expected". (I live nearby) The woman who died a couple weeks ago went in on a "probable" day. It took them several days to even find her body.
Very scary to hear that. We were good until midday when we hear the thunder and saw black clouds. Then we honestly got nervous. We hurried up and got out constantly looking for escape routes if needed. It worked out but still a bad feeling.
This was one of the best videos on the Narrows! I felt like I got a really good sense of what I would be getting myself into. And thank you for sharing about leaving the area when you think rain is coming. IG shows the easy stuff 😅 it’s not that easy. So thank you! Beautiful views!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Glad to see you enjoyed it.
Wow. Thank you for this beautiful share!👍👍🙂
Thank you for watching and commenting. Please look at the others if you are interested and a few more coming soon.
Thank you for taking me along😊
You're welcome. I did some other videos in Utah National Parks and some more coming out soon. Take a look if you are interested
Great video did the same exact walk a few years back and it was absolutely the most stunning scenery. Everything you said was spot on. 👍🏼
Thank you. We loved it. Glad you did as well.
Your video is pretty amazing! Make part 2 plz!
At one part you said you thought you were out of danger, but looking at the rocks and cliffs, you could see where they had been eroded by water and debris. I think you made the right decision.
Yeah, at that point, there were places to jump up onto if need be so it wasnt as bad as farther up where there is no place to go.
I know a few others have already mentioned this, but you guys lucked out with that water. I was there July 23-30 and had to throw my shorts away. I’ve washed them twice since I got home and they’re still stained completely poop brown. So I just chucked them haha
Yeah. We sure did get lucky. I dont remember exactly when the floods came but it wasn't long after we go out of there.
Just a week or two after your video a Tuscon,AZ women drowned after being swept away in the Narrows from a flash flood. I live in the area of Zion N.P. and the water level you experienced was actually slightly above normal. We had a very active monsoon season. Enjoyed your Video, Thank You!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. And that is very sad to hear about that woman. I heard about it on the news
Neat spot! Great video
Thank you.
My family and I were just there on August 7th. Came really early. Water was murky form the time we stepped in around 730am and remained murky but higher around 11pm when we left. Good thing we went early that day.
Same for us except the murky part. Got fast and higher by afternoon
Hi guys I very Like Your video And I suppose your guys I love hiking as well good luck for your Chanel 👍😉☺️ And always stay safe
Thank you very much
When I wandered these passes are nagród, yes, the threat of flooding is pościele in unfavorable weather conditions...I like this place.
I couldn't even finish this video. Flash flood is no joke. Don't take the risk. Get caught in that. Then bye.
We went in on probable but only about a mile in. Must have been 300 more with us. Gorgeous day and we left around 1 or so
I'm glad you liked it. The beginning is usually crowded. The further you go, the less crowded it gets. At the end where we ate lunch, there were only 4 people.
Probably should be marked makeshift hand holds to climb up to a ledge every 100 feet
Semper Fi!
Semper Fi!
You put on the strap on the hiking sticks , then your hands will be free whenever you need to grab on to something. And those a re telescopic, so you can just out one in the bag easily.
Bring two.
Great informational video! Much appreciated. 1 question for you, Are masked required to ride the shuttle bus?
Thank you very much for watching. No, masks are not required.
You are racing out, but others are going in...did they all make it?
Yeah, it was crazy and dangerous. There were lots of people going upstream and in my opinion, thats almost suicidal. If the flash flood comes, there is nowhere for you to go to escape. I don't know what ever happened to those people, we left as soon as I made it out of the canyon.
At the end you are rushing to get out of Wall Street. Who are the people going the other direction?
Those my friend are the idiots that ignored the warnings of danger coming🤣🤣
I mean support
Im putting this on my bucket list do you live there?
No. Live on the East Coast. We love Utah and go as often as time and money allows. I highly recommend it. I suggest going in June though. And heed the warnings. Its not a joke.
@@Bluewaterpinessantarosabeach You know, the funny thing is I thought the same thing. However, those rocks are like glass and slippery as ice. You wouldn't be able to take two steps without falling back.
Is the water freezing??
I'd estimate it at 50 to 55 degrees fahrenheit. However, once you step in it, about 2 minutes into it, you don't even notice it. Trust me, I hate cold water. But even I agree that its not as bad as it sounds. I was nervous about it but you get used to it.
The water was not clear like your video. It was coffee color. We were there 3 days ago lol.
Probably because of the floods that came through the days after we were there.
Same here… we were at the narrows on august 2 and the water was brown and this was before the flash flood.
It wasn’t clear water at all this his video
@@christinekng4812 I also just heard that they have a missing person at the Narrows. I hope they didnt get caught in a flash flood
@@christinekng4812 I heard that its been murky since the flood
Shouldn't go in if risk of flood ( I have 2 friends that died there that way, drowned, and they were young backpacker types very fit).
Yeah. There is a risk all the time. That day the risk was higher than I would have liked to see but the NPS deemed it safe. By the end of the day, they closed it due to high danger level. And a flood did end up coming. I hear that about two weeks later, a person went missing there and there was a flood that day. Scary!
that spot at 5:27 i'd dig for gold
You'd probably find some
I call dibs.
There's a waterfall people pass in this canyon
Will have to check it out for sure
Well were at 40 or so. Maybe 30 or 40 to go. Worry wart.
There's always more to see and your mic was muffled half the time. I know it's dangerous but is this a safety video or one of exploration!
how dumb to hike in there when the flash flood sign says "probable"
Yeah, not a good idea. Don't recommend it
One woman ended up dyinh
😪 ρɾσɱσʂɱ
You talk too much
Was there a problem with cyanobacteria through the narrows? I saw on nps.gov there was a bloom currently
They said its an acceptable level. They just advise not drinking the water or dunking your head in it. However, we saw people diving into deeper parts and going under water. I guess they didnt care. We ended up not having any issues.
