I am so happy there will be more protection there. I live about 20 minute walking distance from La avenida España and I love the calmness. On the other hand was always afraid of being alone out there because of obvious reasons. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the smell and sound of the ocean again!
Hola Norberis. Whenever I'm in Santo Domingo, I am in that area every Friday night and Sunday afternoon with my gear. My gear consists of a large cooler with 2 cases of Presidentes, 2 bottles of Leyenda, 1 JW blue label and plenty of ice....lol ....ya tu sabes. SALUTE 🫡
That's a lot of gear. I hope you're not drinking all that alone...lol! If you need help getting rid of that gear me and my husband will come help you out😂🤣

WOW!! SDE Boardwalk has come together very well! We highly enjoy these video uploads showcasing the expansion projects as well as tourism efforts there on the island. It also keeps us checking our alerts for return flights LOL!!
About 10-12 years ago, I was going to buy a nice Apt. right off Avenida España. Although, it had an ocean view, for my standards the area was kinda rundown and for this reason decided not to buy. But in addition to the conditions, the quality of the people I saw back then was questionable. Despite improvements, and because no one can predict the future with certainty, I will stay skeptical and hold on to my doubts. The people have the power to make or break it. You can change or fix the area but you can not do much with the people. You can take the pig out of the pen, but not the pen out of the pig. Let’s hope overtime for their sake, the New Malecón Este, continues to improve and lives up to its image
@@martincarr4204 -I always feel that although no loss is good, the first loss is your best loss. Which means you are best served by taking a small loss in the beginning before it becomes a larger loss in the future. Your landlord and attorney are individuals without ethics, once you notice a lack of honesty it is an early warning sign to grab your bags, run as fast as you can and don’t look back. Believe me you did the right thing.
glad they are starting to clean up the area. Last time I was there, it was so much trash & abandon buildings. Hopefully with the improvements, everyone helps to maintain it.

You can hold on to them doubts, while the property value increases and that area flourishes. 10 to 12 years ago is not today.

When I was a kid el malecon was not in the best condition especially with the garbage around but my god what an improvement.
