Aubrey, Welcome to Amsterdam. Thank you for supporting my city. Enjoy the moment. Don't forget after the marathon to replenish your body with some dutch local foods as bitterballen, kroket, frikandel and stroopwafels. I'll be running the full mararhon. Let's do this!
@@AubreyRunning Hey man, thanks for asking! My HR was waaay too high from the start (maybe the excitement). I got a sharp pain in one of my calves at km 6 already that then accompanied me the whole race, but I initially ignored it.. around km 23 the pain was so bad, I almost quit, but thought of all that training, so I kept on pushing through. I even changed running styles to see if there's a way that it hurts less.. stopped for a couple of seconds at km 28 to pee and once I resumed running, while the pain was still there, it somehow didn't bother me as much anymore (maybe this 20-seconds-break helped). I also saw a sign "pain is just "bread" in French" and that motivated me (as well as the spectators cheering ;)). I also took almost all the electrolyte/salt-pills I had taken with me and got energy-drinks at every station instead of the planned water. I managed to finish with a 3h37;53 and even sped up over the last 6k, with a sprint over the last few hundred meters inside the stadium.. I beat my initial plan for a sub-4 and even the revised 3h40-prediction from before my race, despite having been in pain for most of the run, so I see it as a great success.. It makes me wonder what I could do when not injured! I guess I have to sign up for another event to find out ;) Hope your race went well! Looking forward to your video to see all about it!
Oh man. Great adventures. Please politely ask your friends at Mizuno to host you at the Tokyo Marathon next March! …I’d happy show you around / run with you as I work here + got my entry to the race. Good luck for Amsterdam!
I can’t wait to compare it to others that I have ran before. But the truth is from what I have seen already, Amsterdam is really beautiful every just the scenery is worth coming out to this beautiful country.
Hey, just following your run through the event's app and I can see something has gone wrong. First 5K 5:27/km and you've slowed down significantly since. This isn't gonna be a PB for sure. Just saw you did 2:04:16. Might have overdone it after Berlin. Hope no injury.
I love the volunteer who guides blind runners on the course. So awesome!
Yeah he was so proud of what he does! Loved his energy!

Didn’t PB but easily the best half marathon I’ve ever had
@@AubreyRunning nice, well done!
I did the marathon ydae - it killed me as I hit like 10 different walls 😂 but great crowd n great city!
Have fun my man 🙌 I was in Amsterdam in 2018 and I certainly wasn't there for any running 😜
Having walked around the city I get what you mean. It’s apparently one of the craziest weekends because they have a dance festival thing happening
@AubreyRunning It's a lovely city, will get back there one day, maybe with the boss next time and visit the museums 😁
Good luck tomorrow, Amsterdam is a great marathon to run,the crowd are electric 😊

I’m currently in a McDonald’s replying to this obviously showing consistency in the carb loading 😂😂😂

No choice but to run a PB Aubrey ... even the Mizuno computer told you to do it :D
I therefore can’t disobey the machine my man… let’s go!
How did you find the fit of the Rebellion Beta/3 compared to the Neo Vista?
I still prefer the Neo Vista! I’m running in the Pro Beta but still prefer the NV

No injury at all… I just didn’t have it in me to run that fast today. I actually really enjoyed though
@@AubreyRunning Glad to hear that all is well! 👊 Might be running Amsterdam next year if don’t get lucky in the ballot for Berlin.
beer = electrolites :)

What a great experience you had wish nothing but the best for you and your channel! Have a great run I hope you make your goals!
This is the very kind, thank you so much… I truly do appreciate that
Goed hè, alles op zijn ‘internationaals’, niets van het ‘Amsterdamse’, waar toch echt de loop (schijnt) te worden gehouden.
I’ve genuinely loved everything about Amsterdam
