- The Lincoln Continental series for Ford has been a very successful series of models in the luxury segment over several decades. Among them the Mark V built between 1977 and 1979 with almost 230.000 cars made, the most successful model in the line.
The car has been one of the last of the full size cars and its angular design did fit with the American Zeitgeist of the 1970s and 1980s. MCG now released several models from 1978 in the 1:18 scale that are highly detailed. Special features of the real car are the folding headlights and the large Rolls-Royce inspired grille as well as the oval windows set into the distinctive, wide C-pillar. Ford did introduce several designer editions of these models over time. MCG pays tribute to the Diamond Jubilee Edition with a version of the Mark V in metallic dark beige to mark the 75th anniversary of the Ford Motor Company.

I got the dark red one for Christmas. It's gorgeous! The detail is amazing, and the proportions are perfect. I also have a real 1979 Mark V, so it's nice to have the model to look at so I don't have to go into the garage to admire my big one!

I recently purchased The MCG Gold Version of the '78 Lincoln Continental Mk V model . In comparison to the BOS (best of show) models the quality is pretty damn good ; as a closed diecast model The BOS is much more expensive since it is a limited edition Resin model .
Ordered all three....much cheaper as the Bos version , yes I know there are no doors,hood or trunk that can be opened but that is fine by me. The details count here.

the a-pillar looks a bit bent. other than that, it's great to see a land yacht made by MCG for half the price of BoS and diecast instead of resin. Please make more from this era.
