    Just ordered one, with the sport exhaust option. Like you have on this car. Sounded nice. And I have dealt with Landon before, good guy.

    Good - now Audi needs to use this interior dash layout with the A/S4. Get rid of the tablet infotainment, and bring back/maintain climate control buttons.

      Totally crazy how they have a better nav screen set up on the 3 over the 4. Definitely need to add that to the a4 cars.

    Just a comment about your "...Would you be interested in the A3, the S3, or the RS3?" A little over a month ago I purchased a 2023 Audi S3 at a local dealer's year end sale. I was replacing a much-loved 2016 VW Golf R that was totaled about 7 weeks ago by a driver trying to enter my passenger door with her GMC Yukon. It was a low-speed crash and no one was sitting in the passenger seat, thank goodness, but my insurance company totaled it after twin side airbag deployment despite it having less than 31,000 miles on it. I ended up passing on a 2024 (and 2023) VW Golf R with dealers in California asking $15,000 over sticker. Financially, I could have justified spending over $70,000 for a Audi RS3, but truth is, even my 2016 Golf R bordered on being more car than you can use on public roads (if you plan to retain your license that is....). I've done enough track time to know that part of me would have loved the RS3, but I wanted a daily driver, not a track car. While the A3 is a nice enough car, I have a personal rule that I don't spend this kind of money (Golf R, or Audi S3, or even an Audi A3) unless in "makes me giggle". If the fun factor isn't there, then paying for it will be drudgery, but if it's fun to drive, then it gives me a reason to work hard to the fun car off in due time. The Audi A3 didn't supply the fun that I was looking for, and while the S3 is certainly fast enough, and handles well enough to get in trouble on public roads, I really couldn't see myself using the 3.3 sec. 0-60 capability (or 0-100 capability) of the RS3 on the lousy roads that we have in this part of California. After about 6 or 7 weeks with the S3, I think I made the right choice for me.

I don't however think an audio review would work that well as we are not going to get a good sense of the quality of the system not to mention all UA-camrs creating content have to be careful about what is played on the radio as they get into copyright trouble in a hurry. • @brandons9138

      The 2024 S3 doesn't have the torque splitting rear differential. That is a main reason why the RS3 is a better handling car vs the S3. The 2025 S3 gets that same differential so that narrows the gap slightly.
      I'm currently waiting on a 2024 RS3 to get here from the port. I'm trying to make the same decision as you. The RS is more money up front, but will also be worth more when it comes to trade in time. So it's a little financial pain now that will be offset when it come time to part with the RS. At the same time the the I can get a Premium Plus with almost all of the options for $8K less than the RS. Audi also has a $4000 cash allowance on the S3 right now that makes it a $12K difference in price. I'm still leaning towards the RS, but the payments would be almost cut in half for the S vs the RS. That money saved could be put to other uses.

    I’ve never fully liked the proportions on A3s/S3s for some reason. Big grill, big headlights, but such a short little sedan! And more than 50 grands for it…. I’d “settle” for “less” with a Golf R tbh

    I like smaller cars. Not suvs or. trucks (although they are great for certain situations, of course). You can haul kids, dogs, and even carry all kinds of stuff in the trunk and fold=down back seat. Audi makes bigger cars, very expensive cars, very fast cars--this one has a lot of good qualities.
    I had a 2018 S3, leased new, dealer needed more used vehicles during the pandemic, so got the 2020.
    Have had no problems with either. I don't like the new stubby shifters--it's lame and distracting. Seats are very comfortable and supportive. Corners well; not as much as on a rail as my 325ix from the 1989 or my BMW 1M from 2011.
    The hp on 2024 very nice; but really, I am on everyone's tail (inadvertently) already with the 2020. This one is even more refined & faster!. It's a lot of power nowadays, when other vehicles move so slowly most of the time (when they aren't running red lights and rear-ending you.) Nice for freeway merges; except, people in front of me slow down and sometimes stop. Merging properly is an art.
    Ben's on a city street testing the torque; I can tell you, you can really get going fast; then somebody pulls out from one of those business or across the meridian; then, you're going to need to brake, like NOW. The Audi's brakes on this are superb. I've had them really full on (with the assist, as well) for just such situations. Also, going 80 on the wy with sudden stop and accidents ahead.
    Backing up in a parking garage, when some kid on a motorized bicycle going the wrong way just zipped in back of me--with the sensor and the Audi brakes ( I just started to braked, but the Audi SLAMMED them), it kept me from hurting him.
    I like the size because it gives me something between myself and whoever is going to rear-end me on the freeway (have had 5 friends and family rear-ended here in SoCal in the past few months).
    My dog liked to lounge on the rear seats and it was easy for him to get in and out. You can flip down the seats and use the trunk to put skis/snowboards, tall stuff from Home Depot in.
    The run-flat tires have saved me from our terrible roads. I literally had to drive off a dangerous freeway with blow out from destroyed roads. With perfect roads, I would get less noisy sport tires.
    The dealer had me try the RS--waaaaay too fast for trying to drive with everyone else so slow in trucks, suvs, etc.
    The SQ5 fast, but it doesn't corner like the S3 and RS3. I had BMWs a lot; found they were terrible in terms of mechanical failures and recalls as early as 25,000 miles. Mercedes awful, too; AMG may be different.
    I've driven VW--even thought the company shares ownership; the Audis are quite different build--safer, too. Saw a VW Jetta, late model, totaled on the center concrete on the 405 the other day.

  • @BertShackleford
    @BertShackleford 6 місяців тому +2

    RS3 without question.
    That five cylinder in the RS3 has the potential to sound like a Lamborghini Gallardo. Besides, there is something quirky about the thought of owning and operating a five cylinder in an otherwise even-numbered world (4cyl, I6/V6/F6, V8, V10, V12, W12 and so forth).
    Being the "odd man out" is not always a bad thing.
    Stay classy my friend.

    • @v8713
      @v8713 5 місяців тому +3

      Not worth the extra $20K+. The S3 is the sweet spot and much more daily friendly. Paid under MSRP for mine. Good luck doing that with an RS3.

  • @gsjarvis6669
    @gsjarvis6669 3 місяці тому

    You must drive an SUV as your personal vehicle. You seem to be freaked out about the small size of the Audi. The RS isn't going to be as balanced a the engine makes the front end heavier. It has more power but the S is better balanced for sporty driving.

    I've always admired Audi styling. The cars are beautiful and R and RS models have giddyup to make them fun to drive. Nevertheless, I bought a BMW X-Drive M340i. It's been fast, rock solid reliable; gas, tires and oil only, never anything mechanical. Every Audi owner I've ever spoken to has warned me about Audi breakdowns, very expensive parts and repair bills and buyer's remorse that they should've purchased something else. They did not say that one must buy BMW; just that you should look anywhere else for a sports sedan.

    • @GokuInstinct1
      @GokuInstinct1 6 місяців тому +1

      Did they maintain it well though? Audis are known to be reliable as long as you maintain it. Don’t listen to Audi on the oil change intervals. Gotta do it every 5k or 6 months. These high powered turbo charged engines get super hot and oil degrades fast if driving fast. Audi says change oil every 10k or 1 year. That is ridiculous.
