Thanks for your video efforts. Very enjoyable. We did a cycle/barge trip from Passau to Vienna and it was fabulous. We had 50-60 km days on the bike and meals and a bed on this boat. Highly recommended way to see this beautiful area. One of the most beautiful areas of the world.
Hi Steve & Vendy, subscriber number 957 here! Your video came up in my homepage suggestions and I'm glad I clicked. The first 30 seconds of this video hit me hard. I can 100% identify, after bikepacking 2500 kilometers this season, with my wife and 3yo daughter as well as solo. Great editing as well. I'm looking forward to see more cycling/bikepacking videos videos from you. The Danube looks fantastic... just made my bucket list. If you're planning to ride in the Netherlands, let us know!
Thanks very much for the kind words 😄 glad you enjoyed the video! Sounds like you've had a good summer too 👍 bikepacking with a 3yo must be some challenge though!! 😯
@@lookpastlimits for sure! bikepacking with the family for 3 weeks along the Meuse river (Eurovelo 19) was the best holiday of my life. My daughter gets carried in a trailer (Thule Chariot) that attached to my rear axle. She was safe and dry there and it came with some extra storage capacity. It does mean harder work on the climbs tough! It's not too challenging with a child. You can safely start when they are one year old and able to sit upright. All we did was 60k per day, stop and play a lot (gives you time to enjoy the scenery as well) and have a rest day every fourth day. Honestly, I am super impressed that this is only your first bikepacking trip, you've done well preparing. The gear you've got is spot on and very close to my own setup. You don't need much more to go bikepacking with a child, just a bigger tent and some room for extra clothes and diapers 😉 Top tip: if you like a bit of extra comfort, consider bringing ultralight foldable camping chairs. Helinox makes the smallest and lightest ones at 500 grams, but Decathlon makes similar ones for half the price and only 1 kilo per chair (model name is Quechua MH500). The luxury of having instant seating available, anywhere by the side of the road, even when there's no picknick table or bench in sight, is fantastic.
@@ShortsNL when I was a child my dad towed me along in a similar setup, but just for day rides! Haha sounds doable but I'm more than happy without the child with us 😆😆 We actually looked at those exact chairs in decathlon but decided to try without for our first trip. I think for the extra 1kg it might be worth it in the future though 👍
I loved watching this journey, I cycled from Passau to Budapest in September 2023, it was hot and not a drop of rain. What an adventure, thanks for capturing it! I recognize so many of your shots. Highly Recommend this cycle trip
Good to share your adventure with you. Austria is so beautiful, isn't it! And clean. Sorry you had to endure so much rain. Enjoy taking things easy for a bit x
this is very nice to watch, it is a beautiful road, i was there like 10 year ago when i came back from abadzalok hongarije on my motorbike ( i had some rain to) , and before that i delivered lots of bananas in a warehouse in wels ore linz... that was like in... 1986 ;-) it's really nice to see you're video's, thanks again and greetings from belgium 🙂 👍 ps: if you next trip is gonna be in the rain again... think about some fenders ;-)
Wonderful to follow along on your journey. Thanks for sharing. We are looking to cycle aling the ev6 from Passau to Vienna. We were wondering what time of the year this was as you seemed to run into a lot of rain.

Thanks! We'll just need to go for another trip in Austria again to try it without the rain 😄
Brilliant film guys! Remarkably, we had the same weather on the same sections that you did. Keep going, filming and publishing.

Next next week I will take this e6 toooo!!!
Hope you have a great time and the weather is good to you 👍!!
@@lookpastlimits I was wondering whether it is safe if I live in hostels along with the EuroVelo 6 path. Thank you!
@@FeelingFree2023 it definitely is, it's a very popular route with many tourists, I'm sure you'll be fine!
@@lookpastlimits thank you. I am already excited for this bike trip!!!
What time of year was this trip? We are doing it mid to late September and hoping for less of the wet stuff
We were there mid July. We just hit a really wet week I wouldn’t worry too much about the rain. I’m sure you will be more lucky with the weather👍
Great video, is wild camping allowed in Austria?
Officially it's not allowed. But you can always get away with it. You can get away with it in every country if you're responsible 😄👍
When was all this?
July 2023
